This is Kitahiroshima... I consider myself a bread enthusiast, but I actually love traditional Japanese food and rice ❤ However, there are times when I must visit a certain bakery that closes after selling out in just 3 hours. The adrenaline rush makes me hurry to the car. When I arrive, the small storefront is a bit underwhelming. Inside, there is a good variety of products, making it hard to decide what to buy. I ended up choosing a "Melon Pan Rusk" and a "Walnut Raisin" bread. The Melon Pan Rusk was surprisingly addicting with a hint of sweetness and a crispy texture. The Walnut Raisin bread, although on the harder side, had a light and airy texture. I wish there were more walnuts and raisins in it, but at that price point, it's understandable. Overall, I recommend their savory and sweet bread over the harder options. Thank you for the meal.

I decided to buy some bread at "Ann Yuit" before meeting up with a friend to pass the time. I had been turned away once before because they were sold out when I visited 3 hours after opening, but I thought 30 minutes after opening should be fine this time! When I parked my car in front of the store, they were open without any issues! Yay! The items I purchased this time (please note that I forgot the prices) are:
- Torotama Curry
- Ume Lotus Root
- Western Pear Danish
- Cinnamon Roll
I plan to have the Cinnamon Roll as is, without heating it up. The surface has a crispy crust, while the inside is moist and fluffy, with a generous amount of cinnamon powder rolled on top. The dough has a buttery aroma with a hint of sweetness, and the cinnamon, although not spicy, adds a nice touch for those who love cinnamon rolls.
- Torotama Curry
This curry bread has a unique type with a less crispy coating. I personally recommend heating it up in a toaster oven until it's slightly hot. This will make the half-cooked egg inside even softer, blending well with the mild curry with subtle spices, bringing out a rich flavor. The egg is indeed runny and the mild curry is high-level for a mild curry bread.
- Western Pear Danish
This is a Danish pastry with layers of dough topped with Western pears. Unfortunately, due to a miscalculation in heating time, the edges got burnt. Despite the burnt taste, the pastry is well heated, showcasing the crispy texture of Danish pastry and the enhanced buttery aroma. The pear maintains its moisture even when warm, highlighting the ripe sweetness and refreshing acidity in the aftertaste.
- Ume Lotus Root
This dish features abundant lotus root and cheese. Although it may not look like it has plum elements, when you taste it, you'll experience a subtle acidity spreading in your mouth. It offers not only sourness but also a faint sweetness, allowing you to enjoy various flavors. When baked, the cheese melts, the dough becomes crispy, and the flavor becomes even richer. Personally, I felt this was one of the top-ranking breads among the ones I've visited so far. It's no wonder they sell out in 3 hours. I'd like to try other breads next time. Thank you for the meal.

When I arrived at Sobaten Heaven, I realized it was closed on the third Wednesday of the month. So I decided to search on Tabelog and found a place just 3 minutes away. I bought two random pastries and a slice of bread. There was a knife that looked like it was about to break next to the register, so I added that to my purchase. The croissant was super crispy on the outside and made a mess when I ate it (lol). Croissant 140 yen, bacon roll 170 yen, high-quality bread 400 yen, knife 1210 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

After watching a gourmet TV show featuring bread, I felt like eating some and ended up buying some for lunch. The photo shows a yuzu pepper chicken bread and a curry bread. The yuzu pepper chicken bread had a crispy outer layer and a soft inside, with a delicious yuzu pepper flavor. The curry bread was spicy but had a nostalgic taste of curry that was very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by on my way back from Nagano Onsen in the evening, so there were not many items left, but there were many things I wanted to try among the sold-out items. The prices were all displayed including tax, which was easy to understand and good. The "Anko Bread" was round and cute like a colon, fluffy and delicious. The "Crispy Cheese" had plenty of cheese on thinly stretched bread, and it was deliciously crispy. The "Soft-Boiled Egg Curry" had a delicious curry with a soft-boiled egg on top, with a rich flavor and mild spiciness. I'm curious about the hard bread too, so I'll stop by again. Thank you, "An"!

On a certain weekday, I had lunch at a bakery in Asahi-cho, Hokkaido. The parking lot seemed to be unavailable, so I had to use my head. The interior of the bakery was of average size, with some products left even around lunchtime, which was quite convenient. I looked at the unique bread displayed on the shelves and had a detailed discussion with the staff for reference. I couldn't remember the names of the products, so I personally gave them names. The "Rum Raisin (140 yen)" had raisins in the bread dough and a cream with a good amount of rum flavor. It was filled with plenty of raisins and cream, making me feel satisfied with the service. The "Salt Lemon Bread (130 yen)" was recommended by the staff, and it was a surprising combination of sweet and light lemon fruit inside the salty bread. The "Creamy Egg Curry Bread (190 yen)" had a unique type of bread with a thick curry inside and a delightful half-cooked egg in the center. The "Melon Rusk (150 yen)" looked like a melon bread but was sliced and sprinkled with sugar, giving a juicy and sweet taste with each bite. Although it may not be in a convenient location for me to visit frequently, I would love to go back if I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a bakery in Kitahiroshima. I stopped by here as I was nearby for a meal. They have sweet pastries like pumpkin Danish for 190 yen and almond croissant for 170 yen. I love Danish pastries, and the pumpkin one was crispy on the outside and moist inside. I also love almond croissants, but they seem to be less common lately. It's only 170 yen here, which is super cheap. They also sell delicious bread, baked goods, jams, and even knives. Thank you for the meal!

Heading in a different direction along the road, I made a little detour and bought two items. The first one is the "Rice Flour Potato Bread" for 100 yen, which seems to be the second most popular item. It has a moist and soft texture, almost like low-resilience material. There are chunks of potatoes in the center topped with mayonnaise, giving it a nice soft and chewy feel. I really like this texture. The second item is the "Burdock Bread" also for 100 yen. It has a crusty baguette-like surface but a chewy and thick inside. It is filled with plenty of burdock, making it delicious. The prices are reasonable and overall it's a good find.

This is a bakery located along the Asahi-cho and Motomachi streets in Kitahiroshima City in March 2016. The shop is small and stylish, with a lot of freshly baked bread. I bought the most popular cream bread and garlic toast this time. The cream bread here is very soft, almost breaking apart when picked up with tongs. When I tried it, it was a nostalgic cream bread filled with custard. The sweetness was also moderate and delicious. The garlic toast was full of garlic oil, with a good flavor of the bread. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

On February 26, 2014, after having ramen for the first time, I asked my wife if there was anywhere else we could stop by. She mentioned she wanted to go to Hiraoka Aeon and Coachan Four. At Hiraoka Aeon, my wife did some shopping and we got some snacks for later. Then we went to Coachan Four before heading back. There was a bakery I had been curious about, but it was usually closed by the time we passed by. Luckily, it was open earlier this time, so we decided to check it out. The bakery was called An Yuit. It was not a very big shop, with only one customer already inside and another one coming in after us. The first customer bought an incredible amount of bread, probably more than 30 pieces! There were sweet and savory bread options. I wasn't interested in the sweet ones, so I looked at the savory ones. There were many delicious-looking options. I chose a large bacon mayonnaise bread and an egg bread for myself. My wife chose a gratin bread, a wiener bread, and an additional sweet bread. We bought a total of 5 breads, and the total cost was in the 700 yen range, which was very reasonable! When we got home, we had them for dinner. The bacon mayonnaise bread was amazing! It was a square bread with thin slices of bacon, mayonnaise, and cheese. It was delicious and filling, and would make a great meal on its own. My wife tried the gratin bread and absolutely loved it! She even let me have a taste, and it was indeed very tasty. Next, we tried the egg bread, which was a standard size for this type of bread. It had not only egg but also wiener inside, which added to the flavor. The bread was soft and easy to eat. My wife also enjoyed the wiener bread she chose! The prices were affordable, and the taste was great. It's a bakery loved by the locals, and I can see why. It's the kind of place you'd want to stop by if it's open while passing by. The bread was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

The weather was nice, so I went cycling to a recently opened bakery called "An Yuit" in Kitahiroshima. The store is located in a place that used to be a bakery before. When I arrived around noon, there were a few local customers. The store is of a normal size for a neighborhood bakery. The interior was bright with light coming in through the windows and white walls. Near the register, there were reserved loaves of bread, indicating that the bakery is becoming popular among locals. The bread selection consisted mostly of soft bread, with a few hard options like Campagne and French bread. The turnover seemed to be quick. Prices are reasonable, with almost all bread costing under 200 yen. They offer a variety of bread including sandwich bread, rice flour bread, French bread, butter rolls, berry Danish, red bean buns, melon pan, sugar donuts, cream bread, bacon epi, cheese bread, curry bread, and seasonal items like sweet summer red bean buns. They also have popular items like cream puffs and bacon and ham in the refrigerated section. The bread I bought included a red bean bun with sweet red beans inside, a walnut bread with large walnuts and a crunchy crust, a French stick bread with green peas, a soft rice flour bread, and a mini French bread with a chewy texture and mild flavor. I also bought kinpira gobou and melon pan (the most popular item) as souvenirs for my family. Overall, I found the soft bread to be delicious, and the bakery offers a good variety of fresh products. They also have a point card system.

This place is in Asahi-cho, Kitahiroshima, but unless you're a local, you probably won't know where it is. You can check the map on Tabelog as usual. I heard about a new bakery opening up, so I headed there. When I arrived, I was surprised to see that it was in the same location as a previous bakery, but now with a prominent sign for ham. I parked my car and went inside the shop to see their selection. It seems like they mainly focus on soft bread, with only about 10-20% being hard or natural yeast bread. I decided to try their most popular item, the melon pan, as well as the natural yeast bread, Pan au Seigle, and a freshly baked mayo sausage bread. Back at home, I tried the melon pan first and found it to be reasonably priced and tasty. The mayo sausage bread had a delicious sausage filling, and the Pan au Seigle was just okay for me. Overall, this bakery is a good place to buy soft bread, sandwich bread, and pastries at a reasonable price for everyday use.

The bakery has a casual atmosphere where you can buy a variety of bread at a relatively reasonable price. The melon pan is the most popular and it was really delicious and cheap! I would like to buy it again when I visit next time. The Danish pastries with berries were also stylish and tasty. It was fun talking to the owner. There were several types of bread made with Hokkaido wheat, but I thought it would be even better if they increased the variety. [Update 2013.4] The cream puff for 100 yen was really delicious!! The fluffy choux pastry with a creamy filling was not just any cream. It had a gentle sweetness and was really cost-effective. I will buy it again next time I go.
