On the way back from a trip, my companion wanted to eat ramen, so we decided to stop by this place. My companion ordered the "Shoyu Ramen" (780 yen) and a "Mini Fried Rice" (350 yen). During lunchtime (11:30-14:00), they offer a mini fried rice as a service when you order ramen, which is a great deal! The Shoyu Ramen had toppings such as chashu, menma, green onions, half a seasoned egg, seaweed, and naruto. The soup was not too salty and had a gentle flavor. The fried rice had chashu, green onions, and egg, with a perfect balance of fluffy and moist texture, and a gentle taste. I ordered the "Evening Drink Set" (700 yen), which included a bottle of beer and 5 gyoza. The restaurant offers two types of gyoza, pork and chicken, and when I couldn't decide, they kindly offered a mix of both. The beer was Heartland in a small bottle, and the gyoza was large and had a homemade-looking chewy skin. The chicken gyoza had a refreshing ginger flavor, while the pork gyoza had a subtle garlic taste with a strong umami flavor. Both were delicious and satisfying! I'm also interested in trying the ankake yakisoba and sobameshi next time. Of course, I will also order the Evening Drink Set again. Thank you, Shou!

I drove to "Sho" to have lunch! Despite the bad weather, there were customers at the restaurant, with 5 groups coming in after me. The first customer ordered the spicy miso ramen. I chose the "Tantanmen (¥860)". I'm no longer surprised by this price, it shows the changing times. I don't know the market price for Tantanmen, but ramen under 750 yen is becoming rare and spicy! More than half of the customers ordered the spicy miso ramen. Miso seems to be popular, especially in the cold weather. Bok choy is placed in the center, surrounded by plenty of diced chashu, and the aroma of sesame adds a nice flavor! The soup is not just spicy, it also has a hint of sweetness, and the sesame gives it a rich taste. The medium-thick curly noodles from Kobayashi Seimen are cooked to a soft texture, which goes perfectly with the rich soup! There are countless pieces of diced chashu, making it very filling! The chashu has a soft texture that almost melts in your mouth, and the richness of the fat spreads on your tongue as soon as it melts! I apologize if my description sounds exaggerated, but I really want you to know how delicious our Tantanmen is! After ordering the Tantanmen, I learned that the ramen comes with thick slices of chashu, and I regret not ordering the ramen, that's how good it was! The bok choy adds a crunchy texture and helps reset the rich soup's flavor, and there are endless ways to enjoy it with the noodles! Since it's Christmas time, the shop card I received at Sho was in a Christmas theme. The Tantanmen was so delicious that I will definitely try the ramen next time! Thank you for the meal.

I had the soy sauce flavored ankake yakisoba. I usually go for the salted tanmen, but since many people order the ankake yakisoba, I decided to try it. The result was quite impressive. The ankake sauce was delicious, but the real star of the dish is the noodles. The amount of crispy burnt noodles is amazing. If you like a crunchy texture, you will definitely love it. It's available to order from 2 pm, and it's a must-try dish.

I saw a post on my way back from a customer visit. I had miso ramen for 780 yen and I also wanted to eat some rice, so I ordered mini fried rice for 330 yen. After the miso ramen was served, they started making the fried rice, so I decided to eat the ramen first. I guess their operation is to make each dish carefully. I was surprised by the thickness of the chashu pork in the ramen - it was about 1cm thick! I wonder if this is just a coincidence or if it's their standard. The fried rice had plenty of that thick chashu pork in it.

I had passed by the restaurant "Menya Shou" a few times before, but I had never noticed it until now. I thought it might be a fan of Fighters Nakata, so I decided to enter. However, it turned out to have no relation at all. When I entered, I was seated at an available table and given water and a pot. I ordered the "Miso Ramen with extra noodles and seasoned egg for 980 yen" after looking at the menu on the table. The ordering system was the traditional way of ordering from the staff. There were two chefs in the kitchen and one staff member in the dining area (maybe only during lunchtime). They had solid COVID-19 measures in place. The counter was half full, and the tables were spaced out. It was lunchtime, so it was full with customers waiting. It took about 10 minutes for my order to arrive. The soup had a traditional appearance and a lingering aftertaste, maybe from ginger. The miso flavor was a bit light, I prefer it stronger. The noodles were good, made by Kobayashi Seimen, and they mixed well with the soup. However, they were not properly separated, which was disappointing. The toppings included bean sprouts, chopped green onions, bamboo shoots, thick and tender chashu, and a seasoned egg. The bamboo shoots were well seasoned and tasty, the chashu was thick and tender, and having two types of green onions added a nice texture. The mini fried rice was pre-made, but it was a lunchtime special service item, so it was expected. It was easy to eat because the water content was just right. I hope that the noodles will be properly separated on my next visit. I am looking forward to trying the "Five-Ingredient Ankake Ramen" or the "Salt Tanmen" next time. Thank you for the meal.

I'm on a business trip. What should I have for lunch? Soba, ramen, or sushi? I wanted to play it safe and go for soba since I'm on a diet, but I had it recently... My companion prefers ramen... "Miso Ramen for 780 yen" is recommended... "Would you like a complimentary fried rice with that?" No, just the ramen! The garlic-infused tonkotsu ramen is surprisingly light and delicious. The noodles are from Kobayashi Seimen, a trusted brand. It's not a type that emphasizes the broth, but it has a traditional Sapporo miso ramen flavor that I don't dislike. I'll try a different flavor next time. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain weekday, I visited a ramen restaurant in Oomagari, Kitahiroshima City, for the first time, with a little room left after lunch. The parking lot can accommodate a few cars in front of the store and on the side, but be careful not to park in the neighboring bento shop. The interior of the restaurant is relatively spacious, with a cramped counter and wide table seats, and even during the latter half of lunchtime, quite a few customers are dining. The background music is Western music. The recommended item on the menu that day was miso ramen, but I decided to try the "Soupless Thick Noodles with Five Ingredients (800 yen)" with a complimentary "Mini Five-Ingredient Fried Rice" during lunchtime service, as suggested by the friendly owner. Looking around, it seems that there are many ramen varieties, including three types of ramen and an ankake-style ramen. Here it comes. Oh, it's quite a generous portion! Let's take a bite... Oh! I was imagining a thick noodle ankake yakisoba, but this is completely different. The noodles are indeed thick, curly white noodles, as described, and not fried as I expected, but boiled. They are chewy and have a good bite, and when eaten with the sauce on top, it creates a unique sensation. The sauce is lightly flavored with a slightly sweet soy sauce base, and as you eat slowly, it thickens and turns into a soup towards the end. The ingredients include Chinese cabbage, carrots, greens, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, squid, large shrimp, and pork. Next, the complimentary mini five-ingredient fried rice is prepared in a small bowl and includes lightly seasoned pork, narutomaki, bamboo shoots, green onions, and egg, making it a delightfully filling dish. I suddenly realized that while rice is often served as a complimentary item during lunchtime, receiving fried rice as a complimentary item is wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

It's a holiday in February 2018. We felt like having soba and aimed for a nearby Michelin-starred restaurant, but it was full. My husband asked, "What about Shou?" without waiting for my answer, and we ended up making a U-turn. There was only one group of customers ahead of us, a mother with children. The restaurant had small raised seating areas, which was family-friendly. I ordered the tantanmen, and my husband ordered the spicy miso ramen. My husband always sticks to the spicy miso ramen, but when it comes to soba, he doesn't change his mind. The dishes arrived in about 15 minutes. The tantanmen had a strong sesame aroma, which made me smile. The soup was not too hot, and the ingredients included mizuna, scallions, ground sesame, and diced pork instead of minced meat. The soup was flavorful, and the pork was tender. I wished the noodles were a bit firmer to better hold the rich sesame sauce. Eating the pork and soup together made me a bit concerned about the salt content, but I convinced myself it was healthy because of the sesame. The spicy miso ramen was described as a "favorite of spice lovers." It was not as spicy as it looked, and lacked depth. My husband enjoyed the pork in this dish as well. Sesame truly adds richness to any soup. Thank you for the meal!

This is a ramen shop located in Kitahiroshima City in February 2017. There is a wide parking lot in front of the store. Inside, there are counter seats and table seats. I ordered the soy sauce flavored Gomoku Ankake Ramen after looking at the menu. It took less than 10 minutes from ordering to serving. A bowl of fried rice came with the ramen as a lunch service. I quickly tried the Gomoku Ankake Ramen, which had a rich and straight soy sauce flavored soup with a thick and smooth texture. The soup thickens quickly, making it easy to eat the noodles, which were plentiful. The amount of noodles felt larger than other places. The fried rice was lightly seasoned. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

▼Location▼ Located along Omagari Chuo Street. It is 800m from National Route 36 towards Omagari-dori on the right side. ▼About the Shop▼ Opened on December 22, 2009. The shop is run by the owner who used to work at the popular shop "Gensaki" in Tsukisamu. The interior of the shop is designed to be user-friendly with a counter, tables, and a raised seating area. ▼Menu▼ They offer a variety of noodle dishes such as miso and shoyu ramen, salt tanmen, dandan noodles, and ankake yakisoba, as well as Chinese rice bowls, fried rice, and gyoza. ▼What I Ate▼ ▽Miso Ramen 700 yen▽ (February 2016) The visual presentation is simple with ingredients like chashu and bean sprouts. The soup is a simple combination of chicken and pork with a light seafood flavor, giving it a mild and slightly restrained miso taste. The garlic and ginger are just right, adding a good touch to the overall simplicity. The noodles are a medium curly Sapporo-style noodle from Kobayashi Seimen, cooked just right with a good firmness. The chashu is a slightly thick pork shoulder cut with a good texture. The vegetables consist of bean sprouts and leeks, but in small amounts. ▼Impressions▼ (February 2016) Located along Omagari Chuo Street connecting National Route 36 in Hokkaido, this shop opened on December 22, 2009. The owner trained at the Gensaki main shop in Tsukisamu. Although the ramen here may not have a standout flavor, it has a simple and light taste that I found quite enjoyable. It may be a challenging location, but the shop has been working hard for over 6 years. I would like to visit again to try a different type of ramen when the opportunity arises.
