I have been living in Sumikawa for over half a century. I used to live in Yamahana until I was four years old, and then I have been in Sumikawa ever since. I feel like a living encyclopedia of this area. I miss the days when they were building the subway line. As for izakayas in Sumikawa, I find "Sankai" to be the most convenient. They have private rooms and table seats, a spacious non-smoking area, and a wide variety of menu items. Originally a sushi restaurant, the ingredients are fresh. I have an app on my mobile phone, so I can collect points as well. My son came back from Tokyo, and we had a meal with my daughter and her husband, making it a drinking party with five people. We stayed for 4 and a half hours, ordering all-you-can-drink and then continuing to order individual drinks. I don't remember how many drinks I had - maybe 4 glasses of draft beer, 2 highballs, 6 glasses of corn tea, and 3 sours, and I also had some sake. We started with the recommended "Sweet Shrimp Assortment" - the sweet shrimp was lively and delicious, making the alcohol go down smoothly. We also enjoyed the rich flavor of Sakura meat yukhoe, the slimy fox natto, the crispy red wiener with grated nagaimo, the spicy fried food, the fluffy and slightly sweet dashimaki tamago, and the creamy white liver skewers. Who ordered the expensive "tachipon" for 1,180 yen? And three servings at that! This restaurant's concept, as mentioned earlier, originated from a sushi restaurant, so the dishes are all homemade and creative, with a wide variety of options. The sashimi is also good, and there are plenty of drinks to choose from. I'm full and a little drunk - thank you for the meal!
