I ordered the following menu items: Black pork kalbi soba for 1500 yen, extra green onions for 100 yen, extra kalbi for 1100 yen, flavored egg araokana for 250 yen, medium-sized egg over rice for 520 yen. It's just a few minutes walk from Momotani Station. If you go by car, there is a coin parking nearby. It's quite cheap for being in the city. I arrived around 7 pm and had to wait about 30 minutes to get in. I ordered the limited edition guerrilla kalbi soba. I splurged on extra green onions and kalbi. The bowl was served about 5 minutes after sitting down. The soup was different from usual, with more oil content. It had a sour taste and a strong spiciness from the sharp soy sauce to match the richly flavored kalbi. The intense richness of animal flavors and the gentle seafood flavors spread out and tasted delicious. The noodles were made of whole wheat flour with a strong wheat flavor, slightly wavy flat straight medium-thick noodles. They had a chewy texture and a good bite that mixed well with the soup. I started with the kalbi. It was thinly sliced and had a rich soy sauce-based flavor, with a good melt-in-your-mouth fatty texture that was sweet, and the lean meat was juicy and delicious. Rolling it up with green onions added a refreshing touch. Putting it on top of the rice made it into a pork bowl. Adding the araokana flavored egg made it rich and delicious. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A shop near Momotani Station with continuous operation. I was impressed by their clever SNS tactics. Just looking at the menu is enjoyable. I ordered the following: - Kari Ramen: A soup with a spicy dashi flavor and chewy flat noodles. The meat was plentiful, and it felt like a great deal at this price. Their curry ramen is full of unique touches. I like it! - Small Rice (Yamagata-grown Yukiwakamaru): I intended to add this to my curry ramen as a finishing touch, but this rice was so delicious that I ended up eating it as is.

A ramen shop independent from Kadoya, popular for their ramen. There is usually a long line during lunchtime, but they are open all day so it's not crowded at night, with only 3 customers after us. We ordered the Black Pork Curry Noodle for 1500 yen (comes with curry salad and pickles), THE Dive Rice for 180 yen, and Black Pork Rice Set for 480 yen. The clear broth made with Kirishima Highland Royal Pork blends perfectly with the aroma of curry spices and the umami of dried fish, with the curry scent lingering after the seafood flavor, creating a highly satisfying bowl. The homemade medium-thick noodles have a firm and smooth texture, absorbing the curry soup and spreading the spice throughout your mouth. The minced meat and chashu pork go well together, especially the chashu pork which is thick, tender, and delicious. The black pork rice, with minced meat simmered in sauce on top of rice, is a guaranteed hit. Lastly, adding plenty of bonito flakes to the Dive Rice turns it into a curry soup porridge for a perfect finish. The first visit for their tonkotsu ramen was a hit, and this time was also a big success, leaving us completely satisfied.

Soy sauce animal ramen has a strong soy sauce flavor with a rich taste of chicken or pork. The aroma of chicken oil and soy sauce is prominent. The soy sauce has a strong impact, making it a bit difficult to taste the base soup. The noodles are smooth and slender, with a good texture and elasticity that complements the soup well. The soup is lifted nicely. The thinly sliced white leeks go well with the dish. The chashu has a good texture and a balanced saltiness. It was a bit dry for my taste, as I prefer soy sauce ramen over this type. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

It's been a while! Rainbow here, feeling like having curry ramen. I think the best topping is curry ramen with a boiled egg! It's really delicious! The balance between soy sauce and curry is exquisite. At first, the soy sauce is dominant, but once you mix in the curry at the bottom, it becomes a blissful curry ramen! Can you understand the sudden craving for it? While pork bone soy sauce or salt pork bone ramen may be deep and rich, once you try Rainbow's curry, you won't forget its taste! I suddenly crave it (laughs). Finally, I had a small portion of rice as a finisher! I ate it all without leaving anything behind! I think this amount is just right. (I mentioned medium last time, but it depends on how full you feel, so small or medium). It would be nice to hear the waitress say, "You ate it all so neatly until the end..." I will definitely go back again!

【Date of visit】August 27, 2023, Dinner 【Order】Red grated wagyu beef dipping soba It had been a while since I last went for training in the evening. It seemed like there was quite a distance from the nearest subway station, so I took a bus to get there. The restaurant, called "Ue no Kata Rainbow," is right in front of the bus stop called Katsuyama 4-chome. It's a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. The interior is a compact space with a 6-seat counter. It was a little past 5:30 pm and there were only two of us. We sat at the back of the counter, which turned out to be a mistake as it was extremely hot. I ordered the dipping soba that I had seen on Instagram and waited for about 15 minutes, feeling like crying. The soba arrived. It looked visually appealing and the dipping sauce was rich. The beef wasn't as good as I had expected, but eating it with wasabi was nice. It was an interesting experience as it was not something I usually eat. Now, I'll go back home and have some cake. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I ordered the limited edition Black x Black Kalbi Soba. The soy sauce-based broth from Ehime with a double impact of both animal and seafood flavors was quite impressive. The flat noodles made with "Seto Kirara" wheat for bread making had a nice chewy texture. The thickly sliced pork kalbi provided a satisfying amount of meat. The taste was quite salty, but the sweetness of the Arrow Cana seasoned egg topping balanced it out nicely. I'm looking forward to trying out which menu item next time.

I arrived at 3 pm on a regular day. Although there is usually a long line for lunch, I managed to get in without waiting by coming at a different time. I appreciate that they serve continuously. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with a flavored egg for 1150 yen plus 280 yen for the egg. The flavored egg is a specialty, so it's a bit expensive, but I decided to try it. The Shoyu broth had a dark color, and the taste of the soy sauce was quite strong. I could also taste the bonito broth, but personally, I found the soy sauce flavor too overpowering, and it didn't suit my taste preference. The noodles were thin with a slightly higher water content, cooked to just the right firmness, making them enjoyable to slurp. They had a strong wheat flavor that I really liked. The flavored egg had a rich and sweet yolk, with a red-orange color that made me wonder if they used paprika-based feed for the chickens or if it was a characteristic of the breed. I'd like to try it with a raw egg next time. I plan to try the Shoyu Animal Ramen next and give the broth another chance. Thank you for the meal!

This is a restaurant that originated from Kadoya Shokudo. I was intrigued by their Zaru Chuka and decided to visit for the first time! When I asked the staff what they recommend for a first-time visitor, they kindly suggested the Shoyu Ramen. It is a balanced dish with a base of chicken, pork, and seafood. Unlike the sweet impression of Kansai ramen, this one has a pleasant sweetness with a perfect balance. The chashu has a satisfying thickness and meatiness, truly delicious! I also tried the summer limited Zaru Chuka, which I came for. The whole wheat black noodles are very chewy with a great wheat flavor, delicious on their own! The dipping sauce is quite sweet, similar to soba tsuyu, and goes perfectly with the noodles. The Ajitama made with Arrow Kan eggs was a bit too sweet. I will definitely be revisiting this place! They are open all day, so it's convenient to visit during off-peak hours. *Note: They do not use a ticket system, so it's easy to forget when you're used to it.

"I eagerly rode my bicycle to the ramen shop after work on August 2023. I arrived just before 7 pm and sat at the counter. There were two types of pork bone broth available that day, and I chose the premium salted pork bone broth, topping it with my favorite seasoned egg. The bowl arrived promptly, with simmered pork, seasoned egg, green onions, seaweed, and a spicy chili pepper. The soup was a light brown color, looking fairly rich. The broth was a flavorful blend of black pork and seafood broth, with the pork flavor taking the forefront in a refined and delicious way. The seafood broth complemented the salt seasoning well. The springy noodles, a blend of spring love and ayahikari, were cooked slightly firm to match the soup. The simmered pork was excellent as always. The spicy chili pepper, which I initially thought was for color and heat, turned out to be pickled in vinegar, adding a unique touch to the dish. Overall, both the default black pork bone broth and the premium salted pork bone broth were equally delicious. It was a feast. Thank you for the meal!"

I was prepared to wait in line for this popular ramen shop that became independent from Kadoya, but luckily I was able to be seated quickly for dinner⭐️ I ordered the Pure Black Pork Tonkotsu Ramen (limited edition today) for 1500 yen + extra noodles for 200 yen⭐️ and the Takana Rice (medium) for 540 yen. They use Kurobuta pork from Kirishima Kogen, and the soup is made with 100% royal pork bones. The soup had a deep and rich flavor without any pork smell, and the noodles were slightly thinner than medium with a nice chewy texture that absorbed the soup well. The chashu was thick and tender, easily melting in my mouth. This was by far the best tonkotsu ramen I have ever had. The restaurant only has 6 counter seats, and it's usually crowded during lunch, so I recommend going at night.

Visit date and time: 10:45 on a weekday Wait time: 15 minutes (waiting for the store to open) Menu: Zaru Chinese noodles for 1,000 yen + extra soba noodles for 500 yen After finishing my morning plans, I moved one station over to visit Upward Rainbow for the first time. I was curious about this place because my name is Nijiiro (rainbow colors in Japanese). I arrived 15 minutes before opening time, and they had a fan running, making the wait time comfortable. The tent outside the store was rainbow-colored, and even the parasols they brought out for shade were rainbow-colored. When my order of Zaru Chinese noodles arrived, the bowl was rainbow-colored too. I love these kinds of details. I ordered the Zaru Chinese noodles with an extra serving of soba. The noodles were flat and dipped in a soba dipping sauce. They had a color similar to buckwheat noodles but were chewy and delicious. Perfect for the cold season. When I finished, the extra serving arrived, but this time it didn't have naruto (fish cake). I'll definitely come back next time to try their ramen. Thank you for the meal.

This is a rainbow above. In the scorching heat of Japan, Osaka, it's tough to walk in the heat. I arrived at Momodani all sweaty, it's idol time at 3:40 pm, and there are quite a few customers even at this time. This time, I tried the seasonal limited menu, Zaru Chinese noodles. It consists of homemade whole grain flat medium noodles made with carefully selected wheat, 200g, topped with chopped seaweed and a naruto in the shape of a soba noodle. Served with cold soba dipping sauce. Accompanied by chopped green onions, wasabi, and salt on the side. First, I tried the noodles with salt as is, and they were delicious with a good wheat flavor. When dipped in the soba sauce, the noodles had a refreshing texture and a nice flavor, with the sauce lightly coating them. The chopped seaweed also added a nice flavor. Halfway through, I added the chopped green onions and wasabi. The crunchy texture of the green onions and the slight spiciness of the wasabi made it even more delicious. I also had a bowl of egg over rice made with Arrow Kanai eggs. Mixed with soy sauce, it was a delicious egg over rice with a perfect level of richness. The kombu tsukudani on the side added a nice umami flavor, making the egg over rice even more enjoyable. It was a perfect dish for the hot summer, with a refreshing and delicious taste.

Finally, the timing was right! I was able to visit this place where they offer a limited edition ramen dish quite frequently. I arrived around 7:30 pm and was able to get a seat at the counter right away. Despite serving pork bone broth, there was no strong smell of it in the restaurant. The ramen arrived promptly with three slices of pork, seasoned egg, green onions, and seaweed. The broth was rich and creamy without any unpleasant aftertaste. It had a deep soy sauce flavor but still felt light and elegant. The noodles were medium thickness and had a great texture that paired well with the broth. The pork slices and bamboo shoots were specially made for the pork bone broth ramen and were delicious. The pork was thick and full of flavor, making it a perfect accompaniment to beer. I definitely want to come back for this amazing bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal!

Popular restaurant in Momotani area. Even on weekends, tourists visit and there is a wait time even outside of lunch peak hours. The soy sauce ramen has a refined and clear soup with a rich flavor. The chewy noodles and flavorful roasted pork are delicious. The bamboo shoots are crunchy, but I regret not adding the seasoned egg as a topping.

Visited the ramen shop after work on a bicycle in a hurry. Arrived around 8pm with no wait for seating. Tried the limited edition cold sour and spicy noodles, but passed on it as I'm not a fan of strong vinegar taste. Opted for the "Zaru Chuka" instead, which I hadn't tried before. The dish arrived promptly, with noodles resembling zaru soba, topped with a seasoned egg and garnished with chopped seaweed and naruto. The dipping sauce was a deep black color. Served on the side were coarse salt and wasabi. Let's dig in! First, tried the noodles with just salt...so delicious! Made with wheat flour from a bakery in Ehime, the freshness and flavor of the noodles were outstanding. Next, tried the noodles with just wasabi...equally delicious. The coarse grind of the wasabi added a nice aroma. When dipped in the sauce, the noodles' flavor shone even more. With noodles this tasty, the sauce almost seemed unnecessary. Salt alone was enough. Thank you for the meal!

"Miso Power" for 1,500 yen and "Ajitama Arōkana" for 260 yen. Recently, there have been many guerrilla limited editions, and on this day it was miso. I was worried that it might sell out as work dragged on a bit, so I visited the shop. I arrived around 7:30 pm and there was no line outside. I entered and sat at the counter. I ordered the "Miso Power" with ajitama. Luckily, I was able to get one of the last two bowls. It took a little bit of time to be served, as the group of customers before me had just entered. The bowl had thick slices of chashu, spicy black pork stamina stir-fry, ajitama, cream cheese?, green onions, and shredded red chili peppers. The soup was a dark brown color with a generous amount of oil, and the rich aroma of miso was prominent. Let's dig in! First, the soup... The taste varies depending on where you drink from. The front part had the pure deliciousness of barley miso. The back had a hint of cream cheese, giving it an Italian touch. The taste gradually became more complex and rich, with the umami from the spicy black pork stamina stir-fry in the center adding to it. The strong aroma of barley miso, combined with the punch of garlic, made the soup incredibly delicious. I asked for the ginger, which I'm not a fan of, to be removed. The noodles were visibly packed with wheat, with a good chewy texture and a nice thickness. The noodles were clearly made to complement the miso soup, and they were delicious. The usual simmered pork was great, but the spicy black pork stamina stir-fry was amazing. The rich flavor of the black pork mince was irresistible, with the garlic and chives adding a touch of junk food appeal. Towards the end, I added a generous amount of homemade chili oil. The perfect level of spiciness enhanced the deliciousness. I slurped up every last drop. The limited editions they serve are always incredibly delicious. It's not easy to find a restaurant that can consistently produce such high-quality limited dishes. I am always amazed by their creativity. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

"Gari Kalbi Soba" for 1,500 yen, "Ajitama Arōkana" for 260 yen, "Classic Lager Small Bottle" for 520 yen. On this day in June 2023, I saw a limited announcement on social media and decided to check it out. After work, I rode my bicycle eagerly to visit the restaurant. I arrived around 7:30 PM and there was already one person waiting outside, so I joined the line. After about 10 minutes, I entered the restaurant and sat at the counter. The order rate seemed high as there was already a faint smell of curry in the air. I added my favorite Ajitama Arōkana as a topping. The bowl took a little time to be served as the Kalbi was simmered one by one. The dish consisted of 6-7 pieces of black pork Kalbi, menma, ajitama, negi, and thinly sliced red chili peppers. The soup had a curry aroma and a nice color. The oil content looked just right. Let's dig in! First, the soup... The exquisite blend of spices and acidity spread in my mouth. The spice mix seemed different from the default Gari ramen, offering a slightly different approach. The base soup seemed similar, with a lingering umami flavor from the broth. The noodles were medium-thick with whole wheat, offering a supple and delicious texture. I was already craving rice with the curry soup, but after tasting the black pork Kalbi, I wanted it even more. The Kalbi was incredibly delicious, and it made the soup even tastier. I couldn't resist finishing every last drop of the soup. I had to resist the urge to order rice since I was already drinking beer (and trying to watch my weight...). The umami from the Kalbi enhanced the flavor of the soup, making it even more delicious. It was a must to finish every last drop of the soup. Thank you for the meal!

Waiting time is about 30 minutes. Satou's Tonkotsu Series, Pure Black Pork Tonkotsu with Ajitama Arrow Cana, was truly delicious! The richness of the tonkotsu broth was excellent, and the slight sweetness was perfect (^ω^). It did not have the greasy feeling of typical tonkotsu broth, which I personally loved. This flavor is not easy to come by, so I'm glad I got to try it. Thank you very much. Order system (cash only).
