It's been a while since I visited Nayoro. This time, I parked my car and strolled around the Nishijo area from the station. I found many new shops that I didn't know about before. Some of them are not even listed on Tabelog. I should try eating at those places next time. So, this time, I decided to visit a restaurant that caught my attention. It seems like they serve lunch at this izakaya, with Chinese cuisine as their main offering. I was torn between the lunch menu options of Mapo Tofu and Cantonese noodles. But since it's my first time at a Chinese restaurant, I went with the Mapo Tofu. I asked for the highest level of spiciness, level 3. The meal came with salad, Zasai pickles, egg soup, and rice. The Mapo Tofu had large chunks of tofu with a thick and flavorful sauce. It wasn't too spicy, but it made me cough a lot. The staff kindly gave me some tissues (laughs). The flavor was so good that I couldn't stop eating, especially when I mixed it with the rice to make Mapo Tofu Donburi. Despite coughing a few times, I managed to finish the meal. It was delicious. More importantly, the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice. If I ever have to work in Nayoro, I will definitely become a regular customer. Taste is important, but I believe the atmosphere of a restaurant is even more crucial.

Visit date August 8th (Wednesday) My food log posts may be out of order, but I am in Nayoro for work today! Last night, I enjoyed plenty of drinks with local staff at a yakitori restaurant. Today is my last day in Nayoro. I asked the local staff for a lunch recommendation and they suggested "Inakaya," so I went there immediately. It turns out that this place serves lunch as an izakaya. Without asking for recommendations, I ordered the Cantonese noodles. The place was about 80% full, so it seems quite popular. The Cantonese noodles arrived in about 15 minutes. It was a noodle dish with lots of ingredients, similar to Asahikawa noodles but with a soy sauce flavor and a Chinese-style sauce. It was hot and delicious. I felt like trying other menu items too. Thank you for the delicious lunch today.
