I had lunch at a restaurant on a business trip. The restaurant is located in the town of Tsurui in Makubetsu, a little off the main road. There is parking space in front of the restaurant. It is originally a yakiniku restaurant that operates at night, but they serve soba and ramen for lunch. The interior has tables and sunken kotatsu seats. I ordered the Gobo Tempura Soba (720 yen) from the lunch menu. The food took a while to come out as the lady was managing everything alone. The soba noodles were thick, handmade, and rustic, which I liked. Both the soba broth and the Gobo tempura were delicious. I didn't have high expectations for soba at a yakiniku restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was.
