I stopped by during my trip to Hokkaido. There were so many choices like set meals, rice bowls, ramen, curry, udon, etc. I couldn't decide what to order. I ended up ordering the pork cutlet set meal. The taste was good and the portion was satisfying. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nostalgic, like the ones that used to be in every neighborhood.

When looking at the menu, there were a variety of options such as ramen, soba, udon, set meals, and rice bowls. I decided to order the pork cutlet curry and pork cutlet rice bowl as this place is known for its pork dishes. The curry had a homely taste, and the pork cutlet was not too thick but had a delicious flavor of the local pork. The pork cutlet rice bowl was well seasoned with a nice sweet and savory flavor. The pork cutlet was flavorful and overall it was a satisfying meal. This kind of eatery is definitely needed in the area.

I visited for lunch, and the restaurant is quite far from the station, located in a residential area. They have a parking lot which is reassuring. Despite it being just past noon, the restaurant was about 50% full. Most customers were eating ramen, but I decided to try something different and ordered the pork cutlet curry. I simply love tonkatsu. The pork cutlet curry I received was generous in portion and came with a side salad. It seemed like it would be quite filling. The curry was slightly thick and had a mild spiciness. The pork cutlet was small in size, about 1cm thick and the size of a palm, tender and crispy. As expected, I left feeling full. Thank you for the meal.

Matsugetsu's big eater day (lol) includes tonkatsu set (2 pieces of 100g each), miso ramen (with homemade noodles), and 5 gyoza dumplings. The noodles are made by Wadayama Seimen, a company from Sapporo. The noodles are medium water content. The miso soup is light, so the flavor is enhanced by the homemade condiments. The gyoza dumplings have thin skin and a generous amount of filling, providing a satisfying chewiness. The tonkatsu is also hearty, filling even a big eater like me. The portion size is generous, and the food is delicious. I feel like having a bento box after a long time. You can also enjoy a bento box at the restaurant for around 1,000 yen, which would be a bit of a luxury. When you feel like munching down and want to indulge in some comfort food (lol), I recommend Matsugetsu. There's no need for detailed explanations, so I hope you get caught by your stomach and try it out.

I'm overwhelmed by the extensive menu, but everything I've tried has been a hit! Noodles, rice bowls, set meals... generous portions and great value for money. Forgot to take a photo of the miso ramen though!

I should have also ordered gyoza and katsudon. While eating, it was just right, but I should have eaten some rice. The snow is piling up and it's getting cold, so it's draining my energy. The vegetable ramen with soy sauce flavor makes me sweat because of its heat. I should have ordered omurice. I should have ordered gyoza with cheese. I also wanted to eat katsu curry, but I was torn between that and katsudon because the set meal restaurant was a formidable temptation.

Yakiniku set meal for 1,100 yen, two pieces of Kamifura pork loin sautéed with salt and pepper only, with onion sauce on the side. Miso soup with plenty of ingredients and delicious pickles. Gyoza for 550 yen, cheese gyoza for 600 yen, both made with plenty of Kamifura pork mince. Actually, the cheese gyoza was the highlight for me. Oh, and the ramen and fried rice set is a must-try for next time! Handmade rice at Yuushoku is the best for dinner.

The restaurant seemed busy with takeout orders. The cozy atmosphere inside was very nice.

There are so many menu options to choose from. The mapo tofu set meal uses a whole block of tofu, so be careful if you have a small appetite as it is very filling. The landlady may seem a bit cold, but she is quick and wonderful. I haven't been here in a while, so I need to go back soon! ( ´▽｀)

I felt like eating cheese gyoza, so I decided to try the unknown extra-large omurice at the restaurant. The extra-large portion was the right choice, allowing me to enjoy it slowly and fully.

Ramen and fried rice set for 1100 yen, with mini fried rice and what sounded like cheese dumplings for 550 yen. Maybe next time I'll try the pork cutlet curry? Did I have it before?

Kamifura's pork yakiniku set meal

We visited the restaurant with two people on a regular weekday afternoon. Despite the heat, there were many customers both before and after us, making the place lively. We were seated promptly and served cold barley tea right away. The menu was extensive, making it hard to decide. On a hot day, I felt like having hot ramen. Feeling hungry, I opted for the mini fried rice set. My companion ordered the mapo tofu set. The room temperature was around 32 degrees Celsius, and there were many fans running in the restaurant. Despite the crowd, our dishes arrived quickly. The staff kept refilling our barley tea, which was much appreciated in the heat. The set meals were generous in portion size and satisfying. The ramen was light in flavor and easy to eat. The fried rice was delicious and I finished it all. Sweating profusely but feeling full and satisfied! I highly recommend everyone to try it!
