I was browsing through Tabelog and decided to go to Nishishumbetsu just to eat ramen. I followed the navigation on my car navigation system and arrived at the restaurant around lunchtime. I parked my car in the parking lot next to the store and entered the shop. As I opened the door, I saw a wooden grating on the floor with a sign saying "No shoes allowed". It was a normal dining place, but no shoes allowed? I reluctantly changed into slippers and entered the shop. The interior was a bit dim. I sat at a table and looked at the menu. I was intrigued by the extra-large ramen, but I ended up ordering the soy sauce chashu noodles as usual. After a 5-minute wait, the ramen was served. It looked like a regular bowl of ramen. I took a sip of the soup... it was indeed ordinary. The noodles were thin and ordinary. The chashu was made of pork loin and it was impressive how thinly sliced it was. It was so thin that it could easily tear apart when picked up with chopsticks. The taste was not very discernible. It was just too thin. The toppings included seaweed, green onions, and bamboo shoots. It was a simple ramen. Goodbye.
