Next to the gas station in the center, there is a local coffee shop that quietly sits there. I love Rausu, and except for a few years when it was designated a World Heritage site, I have been going to Rausu almost every year for a long time. I have made a few acquaintances there, and we sometimes meet up for coffee at this shop. There is another coffee shop nearby where a few tourists visit, but this shop never gets any tourists. It has that kind of atmosphere. On this day, I stopped by because there was no coffee at my inn's breakfast, and I saw about 5-6 local regulars chatting over tea. The sign outside mentioned pizza and waffles, and the menu also had sandwiches. The shop is not very spacious, but it has a retro feel, almost like a Showa-era vibe. The jukebox adds to the nostalgic feel. When I ordered a blend coffee, for some reason, a carrot stick was served with it (laughs). I asked if it was from a local farm, but it turned out they just bought it from a supermarket because it looked delicious. It was really just a random extra. I noticed even the regulars were nibbling on carrot sticks regardless of their drink (laughs). The coffee tasted like your average blend. The cup was a bit fancy. Thank you for the carrot. I had a pleasant time enjoying my coffee. Thank you! Blend Coffee (comes with a random extra?) 400 yen
