On April 29, 2023, after eating delicious ramen, I visited a restaurant recommended by my wife. It was Asahikawa Station Tachiuri Shogyokai located in the concourse of Asahikawa Station. My wife was too full from the ramen, so I embarked on a solo adventure. I ordered the shrimp tempura soba, which was served on a slightly rough-textured soba noodle. The taste was exceptional, with the broth also being delicious. The tempura was crispy and flavorful, despite being pre-fried. The overall experience was beyond ordinary, and I was amazed by the quality of the food at such an affordable price. Even though I was full from the ramen, I couldn't help but finish every last drop of the broth. I was blown away by the exceptional taste of the soba, and I would definitely return to Asahikawa Station just to have it again. It was the best station soba I've ever had, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Asahikawa Station at 9 am. There is a large AEON store near the station, but it opens at 10 am. Mos Burger was open, but I am not young enough to attack Mos Burger in the morning... and lately my mission has been to eat soba near the station, so I decided to visit this place. The name of the shop is surprisingly long. In addition to standing soba, you can also buy bento boxes. The interior of the shop is packed with just 5 people, but you can eat at the station rest area table in front of the shop. The menu includes kakesoba for 430 yen, which is a relatively high price. I thought it would be a simple kakesoba, but the bukkake soba was also 430 yen, so I ordered the bukkake soba. I also ordered asparagus tempura (120 yen) because it has a Hokkaido vibe. I didn't know that they only accepted cash when ordering, and the staff member's response was not very friendly, but the food arrived in about 4.5 minutes. The bukkake soba came with green onions, seaweed, tempura crumbs, wasabi, and cold noodles. Let's try the soba... Hmm. This is not very good. Maybe because it's cold, it has a strong soggy texture and the flavor is not very good. But the cold broth is delicious, and thanks to the tempura crumbs and wasabi, it becomes tasty. The asparagus tempura was not good at all. There was hardly any asparagus flavor, just a lot of batter. The disappointment accelerated with this asparagus tempura, but I managed to finish it out of inertia. Well, it's station soba, so just eat it without complaining, a voice in my head said. Thank you for the meal.

During my visit in August 2023, I had the Kakiage Soba for 630 yen each, along with a limited-time Asparagus Tempura for 120 yen each. The total bill came to 1,500 yen. It was morning in Asahikawa. When I travel, I usually skip the hotel breakfast and enjoy having a morning beer at an early morning or all-night open store in town. However, this time, I couldn't find a suitable place during my research. It seemed like the station soba place might have something. Giving up on the beer was fine, but opening at 8 am is like a riot waiting to happen in Tokyo! So, I arrived just before opening time at this place near the station where I was staying. I watched the opening preparations and as soon as the store opened, my friend and I entered. Both of us ordered the Kakiage Soba and the Hokkaido-style Asparagus Tempura. Isn't 630 yen a bit expensive for the classic Kakiage Soba? We ate at the counter, but we were told we could also eat at the large table in the aisle. Since there were already quite a few people passing by, we decided against it. There were 4 other customers. The dishes arrived at 8:04 am. Other than the asparagus, the soba looked familiar. There wasn't anything particularly Hokkaido-specific about it. No, I've never seen a soba dish with just one asparagus! I've seen the "One Burdock" dish in Fukuoka before, though. The broth had a subtle aroma of dashi. When I tasted it, the broth was flavorful and gentle. It must have been made with kombu as well. Even though the noodles were from a frozen pack, knowing that they were from Horokanai, known as the best soba town, added to their value. I thought the kakiage would be more expensive than the shrimp tempura, but it also had small shrimp and squid in it. The asparagus tempura was sweet at the tip! In the spacious concourse with tables and chairs, there were high school students studying early in the morning here and there. Are the high school students in Asahikawa diligent in their studies? It was an amazing station that seemed to serve as a library substitute.

I came to Asahikawa Station to take the direct bus to New Chitose Airport at 8:00 on May 8, 2023 (Monday). I decided to have breakfast here with Ebi-Ten Soba for 590 yen. Although it is a standing-eating shop, you can also sit at nearby table seats to enjoy your meal. The noodles are pre-cooked and soft, but the buckwheat is a delicious Higashi-Mokoto product with a dark color and medium thickness. The broth is a clear black soup in the Kanto style. It was piping hot and warmed me up. The shrimp tempura was cold, probably from yesterday, but it tasted delicious when dipped in the hot soup. This shop also sells station bento boxes, which looked very appetizing and tempting. I hesitated to buy one, but I had already eaten a bit at home and had something I wanted to eat at the airport, so I resisted the temptation!

I had egg over rice at a cafe in Asahikawa for an early morning journey, but when I passed by this restaurant, I suddenly felt like eating soba and ended up stopping by. I ordered the Chikuwa Tempura Soba (570 yen including tax). Although the shop was small and good for standing, there were tables and chairs on the wide aisle in front of the shop, so I chose to eat there. The soba from Hokkaido was quite dark in color, like country-style soba, and the aroma of the soba was not bad. The broth was strong in flavor, similar to soba from Nagano. The chikuwa was pre-fried, but it was small and cute. Thank you for the meal.

This is a review of a station bento and standing soba (udon) shop inside Asahikawa Station. I entered at 2:00, which was past lunchtime, so the tempura was half price. It was crispy and delicious. The most popular item is the mixed tempura soba (udon) for 630 yen. The inari sushi set (2 inari sushi and soba) is also reasonably priced.

Oh, winter has arrived again this year, huh \(//∇//)\ Before heading back to Sapporo from Asahikawa, I thought I'd grab something to eat since it's just about lunchtime. Yesterday I had standing soba at Sapporo Station, and today I'll eat before heading back. I went to a standing soba shop at Asahikawa Station. The soba, made from Horokanai buckwheat, was a bit darker than usual maybe? It was nothing special, but it was delicious with a not too strong broth. ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

You! You may say various things, but are you interested in standing soba shops? ...I feel like I was asked (something like that) and quickly joined in. Of course, I love standing soba shops and have visited quite a few of them. ■ Kake soba 380 yen THE standing soba shop... It mainly deals with station bento boxes and is mainly in the catering business, a taste that I am familiar with and enjoy. They use a type of boiled soba that is not too soft, and the broth is relatively clear but still has a good dashi flavor. ...It has a well-balanced taste that can get approval from everyone. Now, let's explore Asahikawa Station a little.

In September 2022, I visited a standing soba noodle shop inside JR Asahikawa Station. I ordered kake soba and it was served quickly. The soba sauce was not too sweet, had just the right thickness, and was delicious. The soba noodles were cooked perfectly, with a great texture and taste. It was my favorite standing soba shop.

This is a review of the "standing soba" at Asahikawa Station concourse. I always see it when I'm catching a train, but this is my first time actually trying it. As a food blogger, I usually associate riding the train with going to another town to do food blogging, so I can't really stuff myself before leaving. So, since Asahikawa Station parking is free for 30 minutes, I parked my car and had lunch here. Hmm, just having soba or udon for lunch feels a bit lonely, so why not add some "inarizushi"? The "inarizushi set" (480 yen) allows you to choose between "kakesoba" or "kakeudon". If you want to eat two pieces of inarizushi but feel like just having "kake" is too plain, you can add toppings. It's more cost-effective to get the set than ordering inarizushi separately. The staff quickly prepared the food, and within a few minutes, it was ready. I paid and received my order. Why do standing soba places in train stations always smell so good? It's the scent of bonito. Even though I know the noodles come in a bag, they still taste delicious. Oh, it says "Hokkaido-grown soba" on it. Let's not think too much about the details this time. As for the inarizushi, they were served in a pack of two. The flavor had soaked into the aburaage, and it tasted really good. It's definitely a perfect accompaniment to soba. The set cost 480 yen, but it turned out to be a satisfying lunch!!

In Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, there is a soba and ekiben (train station bento) shop inside JR Asahikawa Station (outside the ticket gate). I was drawn in by the "Horokanai Soba" sign and decided to try the limited-time "cold" soba. I watched as they boiled the bagged noodles in hot water, then rinsed them with tap water before serving. The color was slightly dark, and the thickness of the soba was similar to traditional train station soba, not the thin kind that is popular now. Despite the limitations of bagged noodles, it was a bit tastier than your average train station soba. The shop was surprisingly clean and well-maintained, which is rare for a train station soba shop. Thank you for the meal. Cold soba @ 380 yen.

JR Asahikawa Station visited on a weekday after 8 am with no other customers present. Confirmed that it was possible to eat in, entered, and decided on the tanuki soba for 430 yen from the menu consisting only of text. Stood at a corner counter seat that seemed appropriate, and placed an order with a waitress who didn't look out of place in a headscarf. Watched customers coming to buy station bento boxes, realized I had forgotten my smartphone, and in about 3 minutes, the food was served. Paid in exchange for the product. - Tanuki soba: Tanuki soba served in a unremarkable bowl with unimpressive presentation. After sprinkling some shichimi pepper, I energetically split the disposable chopsticks that were served together, took a bite of the soba, blew on it, and slurped it noisily, entering a state of calm. The soba seemed to be reheated boiled noodles, served with a dashi broth. The soba itself was not interesting or enjoyable, but the slight depth of flavor in the broth was a saving grace. The portion size was like a snack. All of this for 430 yen. This place, which seems to mainly sell station bento boxes, offers soba that is definitely not cheap and is unsatisfying as the gateway to Asahikawa. 4/7 3.24

I have used this place a few times... from stopping by, ordering, to leaving, it only takes about 6 minutes! It's super fast! The "oinari" always wobbles...♪*゚ And the tempting "ekiben"...♪*゚ I wonder why I ended up eating them~(^▽^;) I'll just stick to soba this time... haha [Kakesoba + Ebiten] ♬ 530 yen for kakesoba, 380 yen for soba, and 150 yen for ebiten. I wanted to try the most popular "kakiage", but it's quite filling...(*˘ ˘*) patience. The soup is as delicious as always, not too salty, with a gentle bonito aroma... almost like magic, it's just delicious! The chewy frozen boiled noodles are also top-notch♡ Delicious♬ In the end, I finished the soup too ( ̄∀ ̄)v Now... I wonder if there will be a feast waiting at my destination? Off I go~ Bon appétit~(*´∀`)♪

Last November, around 9:00 am, the phone rang and I thought, "I'm bored... let's go out for drinks!" Hmm... the shops in Asahikawa have been boring lately... "Well then, how about going to Sapporo?" Let's go, let's go!! Since it's been a while since I had a drink in Sapporo, let's gather some people and have a day drinking session! But before that, let's enjoy a bit of a travel vibe by eating a bento box on the JR train while having a drink~♬ - Sea Urchin, Crab, Salmon Roe Bento Box for 1180 yen: It's a station bento, so I guess it can't be helped that the rice is so-so... the sea urchin is a bit chewy... the salmon roe in a cheap jar... Is the crab rice as expected? I left most of the rice and just used the toppings as snacks, washing it down with beer. I got scolded for not eating much, but I had to make room for the food in Sapporo! That's my excuse, haha.

I returned home after finishing my trip to Hokkaido and bought a station bento to savor the memories of the trip. I purchased it at Asahikawa Station this time. The station bento in Hokkaido tends to be more seafood-based. This time, I bought the Uni Ikura Meshi (sea urchin and salmon roe rice bowl) for 1280 yen. As the name suggests, it has sea urchin, salmon roe, shredded omelet, and pickled ginger on top of rice. The rice is lightly seasoned. The sea urchin has a rich flavor, and the salmon roe, although small, has a good taste and a nice texture. It captures the essence of Hokkaido and the flavors are well-balanced. It would go well with beer and can be enjoyed even on the train.

I don't usually eat at the station since I live locally, but I always want to try. This time I took the chance and went in. I decided to try the "Inari sushi set (with soba) for 470 yen + squid tempura for 150 yen." I sprinkled some shichimi on it and quickly slurped up the soba. Mmm, it was good! The small inari sushi was just right. I didn't realize that the squid tempura would separate into batter and squid as time passed. I ate the inside first and then the batter. I thought, maybe next time I'll add 50 yen for the tempura. It was my first time eating while standing, and it was delicious! Two ladies who came later were eating slowly at a nearby table. That's also a good way to enjoy a meal.

At Asahikawa Station concourse, there is a station soba shop that also sells ekiben (train station bento). There are only counter seats, but there are tables with chairs in the concourse that you can use. I've eaten here a few times before, but realized that I hadn't left any reviews, so I decided to try the food again before posting. Previously, I had the tempura egg soba, but this time I opted for the light and simple moon-viewing soba (450 yen) as it was breakfast time. The soba at Sapporo Station is 390 yen, so this one is a bit more expensive. It's understandable though, as there are fewer customers here. Thank you for the meal.

I visit Asahikawa once or twice a year, and I usually stay near the station, but it's been a long time since I visited the station building. I often go to the nearby Aeon where there is a Starbucks and a Kitakitchen, so I come here often. Since I had some time, I decided to explore the beautiful station. As I walked around, I noticed a sign for Horokainai Soba. Oh, Horokainai Soba! It's a type of soba with a slightly darker color. Since I was feeling a bit peckish, I decided to try it out. The shop is a standing soba restaurant that also sells ekiben (station bento). The standing space is small, enough for about 3-4 people. They quickly cooked the soba noodles and served me the Horokainai soba. I chose the mountain vegetable soba. It was nothing special, just a simple meal that I quickly finished while the sound of the station echoed around me. Horokainai, huh? I'd like to try the real thing there someday. Hokkaido is also known for its soba production.

This morning, I decided to try the standing soba and bento shop at the station for breakfast. They also serve standing soba. I arrived at 8 am and ordered the croquette soba for myself and the shrimp tempura soba for my partner. It was my first time seeing a standing soba shop with croquette soba in Hokkaido. The croquette adds a unique flavor to the soba, as it melts into the broth and enhances the overall taste. It was a pleasant surprise to find such delicious soba in Asahikawa.

In the summer in Asahikawa, it's not very cool. Is the idea of a summer resort a thing of the past? The entire station looks very clean. However, the number of users is limited. The impact of the coronavirus is significant. There is a standing soba shop here that is working hard despite the challenges of the pandemic. It seems to be run by a bento shop in Asahikawa Station. Bento boxes are also sold next door. I visited early in the morning, so there were only a few options available, such as Jyuroku sushi. It's a soba shop with only an L-shaped counter. You sit at a table and call out to the staff. There are no ticket machines, but the staff are very friendly, so you can visit alone with peace of mind. On this day, I had kake soba. There were various toppings available, but I passed on them. As expected of a bento shop, they promote their bento boxes well. The soba was served quickly. The broth was slightly strong. It was ordinary standing soba from Hokkaido. Eating soba in Asahikawa gives it a special charm for those who come from other regions. Soba and green onions. A simple combination. It was over in about 5 minutes. Thank you for the meal. It had a slightly dark appearance, reminiscent of the black soba I had in Onibito.

I found this place as I was at Asahikawa Station early in the morning, so I decided to have some standing soba. It is located on the concourse outside the Asahikawa Station ticket gate. They also sell boxed meals. The standing space is a bit narrow. I ordered the Tsukimi Soba for 450 yen. The soy sauce flavored broth with soft black noodles. I didn't really taste any special flavors, but the noodles were delicious. The egg yolk was rich and tasty.
