Soft serve ice cream at Okayu Dairy near Asahikawa in Higashi-ku, Sapporo. Couldn't resist the soft serve ice cream flag and jumped right in. Ordered a vanilla soft serve for 390 yen, a bit on the pricey side. It was a rich vanilla flavor, more like vanilla than milk! Delicious. It was nice to have plenty of ice cream all the way to the bottom of the cone. There are various types of cones these days, which is fun to see. I wanted to try the shaved strawberry one (currently out of stock). It was a great way to cool down. Thank you very much!

The place is in Sapporo, Higashi-ku, and it's a bit of a tricky location to describe. It's near Waraku (a sushi restaurant), across the road from ENEOS. The parking lot is right in front of the store, with space for about 2 cars, but it's a bit shallow so you might end up encroaching on the sidewalk if you park straight. The store is made of glass so you can see inside from outside, but there's no one inside. The menu is posted by the door for easy viewing from outside, so you could just leave if you wanted to...lol. Once you enter the store, the first thing you see is a ticket machine, and then the owner comes out from the back. I didn't actually enter the store myself, I was waiting outside, so I don't know what kind of conversation took place. I ordered soft serve ice cream, a mix of vanilla and chocolate. There was a sign saying "Rich Chocolate" and it was true! The chocolate was incredibly rich, almost too rich for my taste. I'm not a fan of overly rich chocolate, so I'm glad I went with the mix. The texture was incredibly smooth, maybe the smoothest I've ever had? I'd like to try the vanilla next time, but I heard it's very sweet. We'll see how it goes!

I had delicious ramen near Asao Station, so I decided to have soft serve ice cream for dessert. There was one customer before me and two after me. I wonder if this place is quietly popular? There were stuffed cows inside the shop! That's cute! I ordered the Okay Soft Mix, a mix of white and white, for 390 yen including tax. It was a mix of vanilla and frozen yogurt. It was quickly made, and the owner went to the back. After taking a photo with the cow, I sat on one of the chairs inside. Thanks to the frozen yogurt, the soft serve had a slight acidity, making it refreshing. It was delicious in its own way! I had a rich and fluffy soft serve in the morning, so this was quite the opposite. The portion was decent, and I finished it in no time. It was nice to have a cozy space to enjoy the soft serve. This is my second visit, but I have only tried the Okay Shiratama Parfait (with shaved strawberries). The soft serve ice cream is rich, and the shaved strawberries are refreshing with a slight sourness! About halfway through eating, as it gradually melts due to the warmth of your hands, it turns into a gelato-like texture. Mix it all together with the condensed milk at the bottom and it tastes delicious! The Shiratama (rice flour dumplings) are a nice touch as well. Definitely give it a try!!

In a busy street, it seems that two cars can be parked in front of the roadside shop, but it might be a bit scary in winter! We stopped by on our way back from seeing the autumn leaves. I chose vanilla from the ticket machine, and my husband chose mix. The friendly owner quickly retreated after handing us the soft serve ice cream. Hmm... Can we eat here? Well, considering the current situation, we decided to eat in the car. The first bite - oh, it's so sweet! It's incredibly sweet, even for someone with a sweet tooth like me. It's like condensed milk maybe? It's delicious, but sweet. My husband's mix - the chocolate part is super intense! Bitter! When mixed with the vanilla, it's surprisingly amazing. I bought a food ticket at the ticket machine and ordered the parfait, which is a combination of soft serve ice cream and shaved strawberries. The soft serve ice cream is rich and has a deep milk flavor that is not heavy but thick. It's delicious (o´艸`) The sweet and sour shaved strawberries are at the bottom, with condensed milk and four pieces of shiratama on top. You have to eat it in order from the top, but even if it gets all mixed up, it will definitely taste good! I had to transfer it to a bowl since I didn't have a spoon, haha. On the top, there was No.1 Soft Vanilla, followed by shaved strawberries, and at the bottom, there were four balls of white mochi. Although it was labeled as vanilla, the soft serve had a rich milky flavor rather than vanilla. The aftertaste was refreshing, making it easy to eat. The shaved strawberries had a slightly crushed ice texture, with a good acidity that paired well with the sweetness of the soft serve. The white mochi was chewy and had a good elasticity, making it delicious. Since I often come near this area for work, I would like to try a different menu item if I have the chance to visit again. The menu has 6 items, and you choose using a ticket machine before handing the ticket to the owner. I ordered the Okay Shiratama Parfait (with shaved strawberries) and waited for 2 minutes. The owner's dedication to taste is evident, with a nostalgic and simple flavor. I might try just the soft serve next time, but I have a feeling I'll end up ordering the Okay Shiratama Parfait again. It was delicious.
