Nowadays, if you slack off at a cafe, you'll get a big scolding from your boss thanks to dash cams and GPS tracking, right? Well, I'm self-employed so I'll just be scolding myself if I slack off ( ´,_ゝ`)プッ
Anyway, I came to Iwanai town for a visit to the cemetery. When you're in the countryside, the first thing that comes to mind is where to have lunch... Iwanai is known for sushi or tempura ramen, but on this day, I came here in search of a cafe lunch. In Iwanai town, from the 1st to the 15th and from the 16th to the 31st, the right or left lane allows roadside parking. Since parking spaces are limited, remember this.
So, I entered the cafe with a charming exterior and found the place quite crowded, barely squeezing into a booth. Despite the name "cafe," the interior is non-smoking, which is great. The nostalgic atmosphere inside the cafe really takes you back to the Showa era.
Looking at the menu, there's spaghetti, curry, pizza, and desserts, but my eyes were immediately drawn to the "Hamburger Napolitan (1,150 yen)." I just had to order it. A salad arrived first, complete with a fork wrapped in a paper napkin. The tangy dressing with crunchy chopped cabbage, cucumber, carrot, and sweet cherry tomatoes was delightful.
And then, here it is - the Hamburger Napolitan. A handmade hamburger patty covered in demi-glace sauce on a hot plate. The red Napolitan pasta and demi-glace sauce complement each other perfectly. The spaghetti was soft and reminiscent of udon noodles, and the ketchup and tomato sauce combination was classic. The thick hamburger patty was juicy and paired well with the demi-glace sauce. It was a delicious meal that ended too quickly.
Well, until next time, maybe next year... Bon appétit!
