Initially, I was considering the extreme size (1 kg of rice), but I was told there might not be enough rice, so I changed to large size (600g). While chatting with a chatty old lady, the dish arrived. It had corn, broccoli, chicken, and wiener sausages on a mountain of rice with curry. It's a homely curry with a decent amount of spice, which I quite liked. It would have been perfect if it came with some fukujinzuke on the side, but considering it's a 400 yen curry by default, it's understandable. The balance between the curry and rice was good, and I finished it in about 5 minutes without leaving anything. If they can fill you up like this at such a price, who needs to cook at home, right? It took about 20 minutes as it was a bit crowded. The curry was spicier than I expected. The service size portion was the limit. I think it would be fine for an average man. I used to come here regularly, reading through all the volumes of "Fist of the North Star" and creating many memories. It's a popular spot among students from Hokkaido University, with affordable prices and generous portions. Recently, it seems the restaurant has been getting more customers after a post on Twitter about its potential closure. It's like a "mom" kind of place, where students raised by Jeanne and laborers fueled up on nutrients. The mother and her apprentice-like younger brother run the place together, with the volunteer-like brother also pitching in. Inside the restaurant, the mother's humorous stories echo, creating a cozy atmosphere. She thanks each customer individually, making you feel appreciated. Everything in the restaurant remains the same, giving me a nostalgic feeling like I've gone back 10 years in time. The mother seems unaware of why she's so busy, but perhaps it's because former customers, like me, wanted to taste "that flavor" again and relive those days. I used this restaurant about 10 times because my part-time job was in the northern district! It's a good place loved by Hokkaido University students because it's cheap and you can eat a lot!

This restaurant offers great value for money. I highly recommend it for those who are hungry! Although curry is their specialty, the set meal was also delicious. I'll try the curry next time. The owner is friendly and will chat with you. If you ask, they will even pour curry over the rice in your set meal (lol). I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.
