I live in a less popular area in Kiyotani-ku, and there are hardly any restaurants around. Despite this, I relied on Tabelog reviews to find a yakitori restaurant and visited a couple of places, only to find that two of them were already closed. I thought there was one more place around here, and when I went there, it was open! Even though it was listed as "under review" on Tabelog, they were definitely open for business. The restaurant is run by an elderly couple who provide warm and quiet service. The meat skewers, neatly arranged and slowly grilled over charcoal, were juicy and delicious. They have a small selection of dishes, but it was a relaxing experience watching sumo wrestling on TV while enjoying the food. Thank you to "Momotaro" for the wonderful meal. I visited this yakitori restaurant around 6:30 pm on a Saturday in October 2015. The interior of the restaurant was small with only a counter, and it seemed like it could get crowded with just 10 people. I started with a beer and asked for skewers, but they only had chicken and pork, and only one serving per person. The liver was sold out, and there were very few options available. I was offered sashimi and chicken wings. As a complimentary dish, I was served a small simmered flounder. The chicken skewers were delicious and well-cooked, and the gizzards were crunchy with a good amount of salt. The tuna sashimi was very delicious, although the shiso leaves were a bit wilted. The raw horse mackerel was fresh. They mentioned that on Saturdays, they usually run out of meat, so I couldn't try other skewers. Thank you for the meal. ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.
