In August, when I traveled to Niigata (Sado Island), I stopped by Kani Kani Land and thought it would be great if there were a location near Takatsuki. I then found out that there is one in Kyoto, so I made a reservation for Saturday at 11:00 AM. It took about a 15-minute walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station to get there (the place isn’t clearly labeled as Kani Kani Land, so I got a bit lost). The male staff member provided polite guidance, and I was shown to a room that felt somewhat private. I ordered a whole live crab and crab rice for 8,800 yen, while my wife had half a boiled crab with a seafood bowl that included tuna for 6,600 yen. Each lunch set came with sashimi and steamed egg custard. The live crab can be prepared as sashimi, grilled, or boiled, and I chose to have everything grilled except for four pieces of sashimi. Every dish was delicious, and with drinks (just oolong tea), the total came to about 16,000 yen. I felt very satisfied with the meal. I look forward to visiting again for another special occasion.

I went for lunch and enjoyed a calm atmosphere in a private room! I ordered the live crab Kamo River set meal. Everything was delicious, including the chawanmushi (savory egg custard), sashimi, crab miso, crab sashimi, grilled crab over charcoal, and crab rice. The grilled crab was cooked by the staff at our table over charcoal, and it was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing!

I wanted to enjoy delicious crab at an early year-end party, so I visited "Kani Kani Land" in Gion for the first time. At the entrance, there was a large tank filled with a variety of live crabs sourced from across Japan, selected based on what’s currently the most delicious. That day, we opted for the large Shonai Kitamae Crab from Yamagata Prefecture. We started with sashimi and enjoyed a full course including vinegared crab, grilled crab, crab miso, crab hot pot, and crab rice porridge. Since we went for the all-you-can-drink option, we enjoyed beer, wine, and of course, sake. The crab sake was especially delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

I had a crab rice bowl for lunch. I also ordered grilled crab à la carte, and everything was delicious, resulting in a very satisfying meal. The fact that you can enjoy crab in a private room is a big plus, so I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you!

I enjoyed a full-course meal featuring fresh snow crab from Yamakita in Murakami, Niigata. I was able to choose a crab from a tank, and the price was determined by its weight. When I took a bite of the freshly boiled crab, dipped generously in crab miso, it was pure bliss! The cherry blossoms in Gion Shirakawa were in full bloom and extremely beautiful. #CrabCrabLand Kyoto Gion

While searching for crab dishes, I came across this place and made a reservation for lunch. It's located behind Tatsumi Shrine, with the entrance on Shinbashi Street, but you can also enter from Shirakawa Street. After taking a commemorative photo, I entered from there. Upon entering, I was welcomed by staff and many crabs and lobsters with name tags, then I was shown to a private room. There were four types of course meals, and I chose the "Boiled Crab Set, Kamogawa." While sipping on draft beer, the food was brought to my table. I set aside the sashimi and croquettes for later and dug into the crab. It was delicious! After that, a crab miso rice cooked in a pot was served. It was so good that I ended up eating too much. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited Gion for the first time to eat crab. The restaurant has a traditional Gion appearance, with a name that seems quite out of place, like "Crab Crab Land." The interior is beautiful and comfortable. I chose crabs from the tank and opted for a course menu. Since the crabs were alive, I requested sashimi and grilled preparations. It's a rare place in Gion where you can enjoy crab similar to what you'd find in the Sea of Japan. Thank you for the meal!
