After checking the village chief's Instagram and receiving information from D-san, I visited Kurenaiya Shokudo for lunch. The lunch hours are from 11 am to 2 pm on weekdays. The entrance only opens on the left side, with 3 counter seats and 4 table seats by the window, totaling 7 seats. The prices are somewhat high, but you can choose from various dishes. I ordered the "Gomoku Ankake Yakisoba" for 900 yen. After waiting for one customer ahead of me, the dish arrived in about 7 minutes, surprisingly served in a bowl instead of a plate. It was filled with a variety of ingredients like squid, shrimp, thinly sliced pork, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, spinach, and shimeji mushrooms. The noodles were stir-fried without sauce, and the sesame oil-scented soy-based sauce was well-balanced, although it tended to thicken over time. Overall, it had a good flavor, but left me slightly thirsty afterwards. The tourist association website recommends their yakitori, fluffy hormones, thick tamagoyaki made with Naka-Satsunai eggs, and grilled fish at the izakaya. The owner seems to be versatile in making ramen and Chinese dishes. There is only one other ramen shop in the village, but Kurenaiya Shokudo started their lunch service on February 13th, which attracted a crowd of villagers. Interestingly, the izakaya was not even listed in the search results, so I separately registered it under a different genre with a separate listing for the tatami seating area. I had a rare and delicious Chinese lunch experience in the village. Thank you for the meal.
