Today, I decided to visit the food court at AEON Mall Hassamu, and while wandering around the 1st floor area, I stumbled upon a soba restaurant. The lunch menu displayed outside seemed appealing, so I decided to give it a try. It was around noon when I entered and managed to find a seat at the counter. I ordered the daily special rice bowl with chicken and burdock in egg sauce, along with a side of soba. The total cost was ¥924, and I opted for the large portion for both rice and soba. A complimentary drink was included, so I chose coffee without much thought. There was already a pot of soba broth on the table. After some time, my order arrived, and the portions looked decent. The soba and rice bowl were not overly impressive in size but definitely felt like a set meal. The salad seemed more like a side dish. The soba had a firm texture with good elasticity, but there was something lacking in flavor. It wasn't bad, but it didn't quite match up to handcrafted soba from traditional soba shops. The volume of the meal was satisfying. The soba broth, however, lacked the typical cloudy appearance and had a taste that didn't quite capture the essence of soba. Moving on to the rice bowl, it was reminiscent of a chicken and egg rice bowl and was decent overall. It was a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks due to the soupy consistency, and I wished they had provided a spoon. The coffee, despite my request for black, came with sugar and milk, which was a minor detail that bothered me. The taste was average, leaning towards strong for my liking. While the meal was filling and offered good value for money, the soba could use some improvement.

Yesterday, on the way back from Minami-Horocho, we stopped for lunch. It was during the holidays and all the restaurants were crowded, but we found a strangely empty one... (a bad feeling). Despite that, my wife insisted on going to the "Soba and Tempura Wasabi" restaurant because she wanted to eat soba there. I ordered the "Curry Rice and Soba Set" and my wife ordered the "Soup Curry Dipping Soba." The curry rice had a unique taste, maybe because it was from a soba restaurant, and at first I was like "huh?" but it gradually grew on me. However, the balance between the curry sauce and rice was quite off, making it a bit challenging. The soba had thin noodles which my wife liked. The soba broth was slightly salty, sweet, and not too sharp in flavor. Personally, I quite liked it. The Soup Curry Dipping Soba was a unique combination of soba and soup curry, and even just that was like "oh, innovative. It's not something you see often." And on top of that, it came with tempura. I was skeptical about whether tempura would go well with soup curry, but surprisingly, it matched perfectly (laughs). The combination of tempura and soup curry was unexpectedly amazing. I can understand curry and soba going together, but the tempura and curry combo was even better than expected. The person who came up with this is a genius. I'm sorry for thinking "I have a bad feeling" when we entered. It was really delicious and turned out to be a great lunch.

This spring, there have been many changes in the Ion Mall, with several stores being replaced in the gourmet section on the first floor as well as throughout the entire mall. Amidst these changes, Yama Wasabi has been around for a few years now. Previously, there was a soba restaurant called Ikkyu, but the soba was not that great. When Yama Wasabi first opened, I didn't find it particularly delicious either, but I can see that they are working hard with frequent menu updates, which makes me want to support them. I ordered the chicken cutlet bowl and soba set. The chicken cutlet was crispy and had a satisfying texture, making me think, "What is this?" but strangely, it was delicious. The soba was still lacking a bit, but I am looking forward to seeing more improvements in the future. My wife enjoyed her tempura bowl as well!

Wasabi soba with cold dipping sauce for 1,023 yen at Aeon Mall Hassamu from Wasabi-san. Had a light lunch at this soba restaurant. They offer a variety of soba and donburi dishes, making it hard to decide without any recommendations. After some deliberation, I ordered the Wasabi soba with cold dipping sauce which arrived in about 15 minutes. The cold noodles looked appetizing, but the portion was on the smaller side and left me feeling unsatisfied. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste the strong wasabi flavor as expected. It had been a while since I last had a meal at a shopping mall.

It was crowded again at lunchtime, so I came here... The previous soba noodle shop was supposed to be okay, but it seems to have changed to a different store... The soba noodles are tough, the salad is bitter, and for some reason, the one-bite curry that comes with it is obviously from a retort pouch... I feel sad for some reason. I'm still a little hungry, but please spare me. Thank you for the meal. (>人<;)

Ordered a Tempura Soba Set and a Beef Toro Bowl. The Tempura Soba Set came with only one shrimp tempura instead of the two shown in the food sample. The Beef Toro Bowl, which was supposed to be filled with beef according to the menu photo, actually came with just a sprinkle of beef and dry white rice.

I went to Wasabi Hassamu store for some delicious soba noodles. There were so many options to choose from, but I ended up ordering the Beef and Tororo Soba for 990 yen. It was really delicious, with a strong flavor that soaked into the noodles, okra, and grated yam. Even if you don't have much of an appetite, the stickiness of the noodles makes it easy to eat. My boyfriend ordered the Mega Mori Soba for 980 yen, which was very filling. We mixed half of it with dipping sauce and half with the Beef and Tororo Soba, and it was a delightful combination. My boyfriend also ordered the Chicken Soba for 790 yen and the Mini Beef and Tororo Wasabi Bowl for 590 yen, but I forgot to ask for his feedback. My daughters ordered the Kids Curry Set for 450 yen and the Kids Soba for 350 yen, which were just the right size for them to finish. The Kids Curry Set comes with a choice of juice, and the Kids Soba can be served warm or cold.

Grating fresh wasabi and eating it myself is my style... (*^▽^*)♪ The fragrance of wasabi is irresistible (●^o^●)♪ The dipping sauce has a strong soy sauce flavor rather than a dashi flavor... (´・ω・`) The soba noodles are thin, somewhere between dry noodles and fresh noodles... ('ε'*) The mini curry rice bowl was delicious, just the way I like it (σ*´∀`)♪ It includes fried tofu and shimeji mushrooms, and has a bit of spiciness but also a rich and flavorful taste that I think would appeal to everyone (°▽°) It's a curry "bowl," so maybe it's inevitable, but personally, I wish there was a bit more curry sauce... (^-^;) My companion also enjoyed the curry, and the moment we started eating it, I thought, "I should have ordered the curry soba instead" (laughs) (艸ε≦●)♪ The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and the lighting coming through the windows was niceヾ(´ー`)ノ Next time, I'll try the curry soba~o(^o^)o♪

Today's lunch will be at Aeon Hassamu. This year in Sapporo, there has been a lot of snow, so I want to eat at a restaurant with a covered parking lot (lol). But everywhere seems pretty crowded. Everyone seems to have the same idea (lol). So I ended up going to "Yamawasabi". I was lured in by the sign for the daily special for 790 yen. Since it's Monday, I got the vegetable tempura rice bowl and soba set. The soba was cold, and I chose coffee for my drink. It arrived in about 10 minutes. Let's dig in! The vegetable tempura rice bowl has a slightly runny egg and a sweet and salty flavor. The ingredients include onions, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms, and pumpkin. It's hard to tell because it's covered in egg. The soba noodles are smooth and slightly thick, with a lightly seasoned dipping sauce. It seems healthy with the light saltiness. But eating this much might not be so healthy (lol). I finished with a cup of coffee. It was a satisfying and affordable meal!

High ceiling, chic space with a wood theme and jazz music playing in the background. A relaxing atmosphere like a cafe. Upon entering, I waited to be seated while disinfecting my hands. The staff (part-time workers) seemed focused on cleaning tables (vacant ones) and didn't notice me waiting, which was a bit disappointing. I was eventually shown to a booth and ordered some snacks. The place was quiet with only a couple and myself as customers. I ordered the "Mori Soba" for 693 yen, which was a generous portion. The soba noodles were rinsed in room temperature water, giving them a smooth texture. The broth had a hint of spiciness but was comforting with the umami flavor of bonito. The garnish of green onions seemed a bit watery, possibly frozen. I also enjoyed the complimentary pot of soba broth on the table. I paid using electronic money and cards. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

On a certain weekday, I visited a soba restaurant located in Ion Happo for lunch. The parking lot is spacious as it is in Ion. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Ion with a decently sized interior consisting of counter and table seating. Jazz music is playing in the background. I decided to try the "Shrimp Tempura Soba Lunch (1199 yen)" which seemed light. The soba noodles were thin and grey, with a unique flavor and surprisingly good texture. The portion was quite generous. The dipping sauce had a lingering bonito flavor, so I dipped the soba generously. The tempura included two large shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, small pieces of eggplant, lotus root, green pepper, and sweet pumpkin, which I dipped in the light tempura sauce. The salad was served with shiso dressing, cucumber and turnip pickles, and I finished with soba tea. Overall, the atmosphere was a bit noisy, but if you're not looking for anything fancy, it's a good option for a weekday lunch without much wait time. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the first floor of the Aeon Hakodate store in the Hakodate area, this soba restaurant offers a calm atmosphere with counter and table seating options. I decided to try their "Tempura and Soba Set (1,199 yen)" which included a mini tempura bowl and soba noodles. The soba noodles had a smooth texture, although it wasn't exactly my favorite type of soba. The mini tempura bowl was surprisingly filling and satisfying. While the price may seem a bit high considering the quality of the soba, it's a good option for a relaxing meal.

Soba restaurant in Hassamu Ion. Came here for work and had lunch with colleagues, then heading back to the office. We wanted to have soba, so we tried a few places but some were closed or had long lines. We didn't have much time, so we decided to go to Ion where we knew there would be options. It was almost full during lunchtime with housewives and elderly people eating out. We ordered a set meal with katsudon and soba for 1,100 yen including tax, with a complimentary dessert of warabi mochi. It took about 12 minutes for our food to arrive. The soba had a nice firm texture and was served cold. It was sesame soba, which was quite good. The dipping sauce was a bit weak in flavor, but overall it was decent. The katsudon, unfortunately, had processed meat and was a bit salty. The sauce was also salty, so it made the overall dish quite strong in flavor. If it had been a bit lighter, it would have been better. The portion size was satisfying. The complimentary warabi mochi was a nice touch. Overall, it was a good meal.

I arrived at the restaurant after 6 pm and was able to enter smoothly. I ordered a set of shrimp tempura rice bowl and soba for 1155 yen including tax. The soba arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered warm soba, which had a nice aroma from the sesame seeds mixed in. The soba was delicious, but I didn't really feel the freshness of being freshly made, as they claim. The tempura rice bowl was tasty with plump shrimp and other ingredients like mushrooms and pumpkin. The staff were friendly and attentive, quickly refilling my water. It's a good place to go when you want to eat light soba. I would like to try the cold soba with mountain wasabi next time. Thank you for the meal.

While shopping at Ion, I was drawn in by the Katsudon and decided to stop by. Tonight's main dish is Katsudon! There aren't many specialty shops for Katsudon, so it's hard to find a place to eat it other than soba restaurants. The soba here is sesame soba, but it's a bit watery. Maybe they use a lot of filler. Is sesame soba supposed to be like this...? Since today's main dish is not soba, I'll let it slide. The Katsudon is just as I imagined - the crispy cutlet and sweet sauce are exquisite and delicious. Even just the rice soaked in the sauce is delicious enough.

This place is highly recommended! While most eateries in complex facilities focus on convenience and family-friendly atmosphere rather than exceptional taste, Yamawasabi completely defies that image. The soba has a delightful aroma, and the tempura is crispy without any greasiness. The portion size may be a bit small for those with big appetites, but quality over quantity is what matters here. I became a fan after my first visit and went back the following week. The staff is friendly, the interior has a classy and clean feel, making it highly recommended. If I had to nitpick, it would be great if they had a water server on the table so you don't have to call for water refill every time. *Soba broth is provided on the table, which I mistakenly thought was water at first... 😉

After chatting with friends, I decided to do some shopping at the mall. It's already 5:30 pm and I'm getting hungry. Let's go to the food court first. Oh, they have soba noodles here. That's perfect for a light snack before dinner. But hold on, let's check on Tabelog first. Let's see the reviews from fellow foodies... Okay, let's skip the food court for today, haha. But I still want to have soba noodles. Oh look, there's a soba restaurant on the first floor too! The mall is surprisingly empty today, which makes the atmosphere nice and peaceful. I ordered the mountain wasabi soba noodles. The price was 626 yen. They were freshly boiled, and unbelievably, it arrived in just 3 minutes after ordering. So fast! The sesame soba noodles looked good too. The noodles were thin and shiny, and I couldn't really taste the sesame flavor. I started by eating the noodles without dipping them in the broth since they already had mountain wasabi on them. The broth was not bad, I actually didn't mind it. The noodles had a good texture, with a decent amount of chewiness. I wish they had provided wet towels for hand washing though. I enjoyed grinding the mountain wasabi myself. The portion was just right. The soba broth was served in a small pot on the table, and it was warm. Overall, the experience was similar to a chain soba restaurant. In terms of value for money, it was average. I might visit a different soba restaurant soon to compare. I suddenly feel like having real wasabi instead of mountain wasabi. It was a satisfying light snack for both my stomach and soul. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a soba restaurant in Hassamu Ion. It was a weekday night, so it was not crowded. Since they didn't have individual tempura options on the menu, I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Soba set. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that it came with 4 shrimp tempura! Considering the fact that it is less than 1000 yen for 4 shrimp tempura in a family-friendly area, I think it offers good value for money.

I visited for lunch. It's a soba restaurant located inside the Aeon Hakusan store. The shop opened when Aeon was recently renovated. I arrived in the early afternoon, so I didn't have to wait and got a seat smoothly. There were various menu items that caught my eye, but this time I ordered the "oyakodon and soba set." Personally, the oyakodon was not to my liking. It felt like something was different. The soba was okay though! Next time I come, I want to try a different menu item that caught my interest. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
