When I came to Obihiro, I was thinking of trying Genghis Khan. Hachiware, who is from Yokohama, grew up thinking of beef when it comes to yakiniku. My husband, who is from Sapporo, thinks of Genghis Khan when it comes to yakiniku! When we have yakiniku or barbecue at home, the main dish is always Genghis Khan! What surprised Hachiware was that shabu-shabu is also made with lamb. Thank you, sheep (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡ •*¨*•.¸¸☆*・゚ When I searched for a place to eat Genghis Khan around the station, there were restaurants with that mountain-shaped plate where you cook vegetables together, and yakiniku restaurants. The restaurant with the mountain-shaped plate was full, so we tried this one. It was a great choice. There were various kinds of meat, so you never get bored. All of them were delicious ('∀'人)✧*. The meat is cut by hand instead of sliced by a machine, so it is tender and tasty. I ordered the top-quality Genghis Khan. It was tender and flavorful, so I didn't even need to use the sauce. We kept ordering more and more. Sagari was delicious and tender, it's the type that Hachiware likes. It's the opposite side of harami. Liver was soft and had a unique taste. Even though Hachiware is not a fan of internal organs, she likes liver. Tontoro had a lot of fat, but when grilled crispy, it was fragrant, sweet, and delicious. Tokachi Mashiyaki was unexpectedly good. I thought it was mashed potatoes, but it turned out to be mushrooms. The mushrooms were juicy, flavorful, and did not shrink when grilled. Ika Chijimi took some time to prepare, but it was worth the wait. It was piping hot and crispy, with plenty of squid pieces. Hoisin greens were served with finely chopped white leeks and miso, and it was a generous portion. Bibimbap (half size) was delicious when mixed. Hachiware prefers rice to be fluffy, so she liked this version without the stone pot. The egg was also tasty, and the soup was good too. For drinks, my husband enjoyed craft beer, craft chu-hai, makgeolli, and more. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the feast.

During the festival period in Obihiro, we were told there was a 90-minute wait to get a table at the restaurant. We were prepared to wait, but surprisingly we were able to get a table in just 45 minutes. We enjoyed top-quality Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), as well as premium kalbi, bone-in kalbi, marbled beef tongue, and top-quality sagari. The meat was of excellent quality and yet very reasonably priced, making it clear why this restaurant is so popular in Obihiro.

When I visited Obihiro last year, I almost became a dinner refugee because I didn't make a reservation in advance, so this time I made a reservation and visited. I thought that meat dishes would be better than seafood in inland Obihiro, so I chose a yakiniku restaurant. I found Peace Park here, which accepts reservations only on weekends and is close to the hotel. According to a guy I met in Kushiro, this is not the recommended place in Obihiro, but let's save that for next time. They only accept reservations from 5:00 pm, but today I only had soft serve ice cream in Hamanaka and drank canned coffee in the car after breakfast at the hotel, so I am quite hungry. I ordered beer and some meat. Since this is a yakiniku restaurant, there are not many types of lamb. I feel a slightly lamb flavor compared to the lamb I ate in Asahikawa, but it's totally fine. I ended up ordering more. I had 8 beers and lemon sours, and the bill was only 7,500 yen. It's too cheap for the quality, even if it's not recommended. I'm curious about the restaurant recommended by the guy. Thank you for the meal.

The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable, it's a great restaurant. I couldn't decide what to order and ended up ordering too much, so I was really full. The drinks are cheap, so be careful not to drink too much. The meat dishes were all delicious and looked great. I definitely want to go back when I'm in Obihiro!

I have visited this place over 10 times and this is almost like my first draft. I ordered a kimchi platter, premium Genghis Khan, select black wagyu kalbi, Hokkaido top sirloin, and Hokkaido marbled tongue. Unfortunately, the Hokkaido special harami was sold out. Especially the Genghis Khan and sirloin were very delicious. Next time, I will come a bit earlier so I can order the harami that I always enjoy.

First time at the Obihiro Night. Six years ago, during a solo trip with the 18-ticket, I stumbled upon this main store while waiting for a transfer. Since then, I've always wanted to visit, and the opportunity finally came during my stay in Obihiro. I called the main store two weeks ago to make a reservation, but they were fully booked... Surprisingly, even on a weekday, reservations were full two weeks in advance... So I made a reservation at this Higashi-Ginza branch. Finally managed to secure a spot at 8 p.m., it's a popular place indeed. We ordered a lot - kalbi, harami, lamb, horumon, kobukuro, tongue, lean tongue, pork belly, pork jowl, rice large, sanchu, etc. We kept grilling and eating, grilling and eating (-_-;) The meat was all delicious, but personally I found the sauce to be a bit light... I added miso to the sanchu for flavor adjustment. It's a shame that the raw meat wasn't classic. The "Obihiro Craft Beer Horo" we ordered for the second round had a sweet taste and was quite delicious. The Ice and Lemon Shochu Highball was a bit too sweet for my liking... There were some unexpected aspects, but considering the price, the meat was delicious. It's reasonable, relaxing in a private room, and it's no wonder it's popular among locals. *For a normal order, 3,000-4,000 yen should be enough. I'd like to visit the main store once. Boss, thank you for the meal!

I arrived at the Yakiniku Heiwaen Higashi Ginza branch that I had reserved for the night trip to Tokachi. I ordered the Mega Highball for myself and a Ginger Ale for my wife, and we toasted! I had the fresh and springy liver, while we both enjoyed the Tokachi lean beef tongue with its crispy texture. I also ordered the premium Jingisukan for myself, Kakuteki for both of us, and the seasonal grilled vegetables (autumn) for both of us. Although I'm not sure if the vegetables are from Tokachi, they were all delicious, especially the burdock. The lightly boiled salted snow beef with salt sauce was incredibly delicious, and the Sapporo Classic beer in a bottle was a great addition. We also had the Tokachi special Harami, which was cut for my wife and was as tender and delicious as she had heard in reviews. My wife added another Ginger Ale, and I ended the meal with a Mega Highball. This was my first time at Heiwaen, and I was very satisfied with the reasonably priced and delicious meat we had!

People in Obihiro often talk about barbecue restaurants in terms of the prices at Heiwaen. This restaurant offers a Genghis Khan set meal for 600 yen, which includes salad and miso soup with seaweed. The Genghis Khan meat is tender and flavorful, especially when eaten with the sauce. The fatty parts are particularly delicious! The Snow White dish, also known as maruchou, costs 480 yen. When grilled patiently, it becomes crispy on the outside and melts in your mouth with a soft texture. When grilling barbecue, the rule is to flip it only once, cooking two-thirds of it first before flipping. (This can be tricky!)

Memo: The famous yakiniku restaurant in Obihiro, Genghis Khan, offers lamb starting at 380 yen. The Hokkaido beef marbled tongue is 920 yen, which is a surprise price. I personally liked the spicy Wagyu tail soup for 450 yen. The cost performance of this restaurant is amazing.

As the title suggests, I visited a yakiniku restaurant in Tokachi on a Sunday night with a friend who came from afar. I wanted a private room to chat, so I made a reservation at this restaurant a few days in advance after reading reviews on Tabelog. Despite the current situation with the coronavirus, the restaurant was fully booked when we arrived, and walk-in customers were being turned away. The menu was similar to other Heiwaen restaurants, and I personally enjoyed the Genghis Khan and sagari dishes. They were consistently delicious. They also had a surprisingly good selection of sake and shochu, which pleased my friend who loves sake. The private room we were guided to, which can accommodate four people, had a sunken kotatsu-style table, good ventilation, and a clean interior. We could call the staff with a button, and they quickly served the meat and drinks, making our experience comfortable. Thank you for the wonderful meal. We will definitely come back again.

This is Obihiro. Second stop of the night, total of 12 stops. Ate meat sushi and roast, but still want to eat more meat! Off to Heiwaen! The last time I went to Heiwaen, the seats were cramped and not relaxing, but this time I was led to a private room with a sunken hearth even though I'm alone. Ordered a highball for 360 yen, Genghis Khan set meal for 600 yen, and hormone for 390 yen. Sitting here, I think this table for four is more suitable for two people. But since I'm alone, it feels quite spacious in the four-person room. The highball and Genghis Khan set meal arrived promptly. Let's grill! This Genghis Khan set meal is cheap and a good deal! The hormone is priced normally, but the portion seems to be 1.5 times larger compared to other places. If not overcooked, the Genghis Khan is tender and goes well with rice. Couldn't resist having it on rice! Yum! Grilling the hormone now! Nothing special, but it's delicious! Ate it all in one go. The cost performance of Heiwaen is impressive! Thank you for the meal!

Beef tongue and more. The last stop in Obihiro for the ladies is always Heiwaen. Recently, child C has become interested in beef tongue and compared Hokkaido beef with Angus beef. Also, they had Genghis Khan, sagari, pork belly, and hormone, while the ladies shared a bibimbap. Everything was delicious. Sagari was tender, Genghis Khan and hormone (spicy) were classics. It costs just under 2000 yen per person for a satisfying meal. It's back and still a great restaurant.

I visited Heiwaen Higashi Ginza store! I went after the renewal. It's a Heiwaen located in the city center. They don't serve lunch, only open at night and close at 1 am. I dropped by after a company drinking party. I waited to be seated at the entrance. The wait was about 5 minutes. The place looks very clean and nice. I had a beer for 480 yen including tax, a Genghis Khan set meal for 600 yen including tax, and namul for 320 yen including tax. I told them I didn't need rice and there was no discount. I wish the beer was colder. The Genghis Khan meat was a bit tougher than usual but still tasty. The miso soup was big. There was also a salad. Good value for the price. The namul was a bit disappointing, a bit dry. I had another beer, which was also not very cold. It was a weekday night, but the place is usually crowded due to the limited seating. Thank you, Heiwaen!

I got information about the restaurant on Instagram, so I visited Heiwaen Higashi Ginza branch. Luckily, the previous customers had just left, so I was guided to a private booth with a roll curtain. When I go to Heiwaen with my friend, we always order the same things. We ordered the Tokachi Wagyu Upper Kalbi (90g) for 880 yen each, Roast for 750 yen, Pork Hormone (salt) for 390 yen, Limited Quantity Kuroge Wagyu Sagari (90g) for 980 yen each, Large Rice for 260 yen each, Kimchi for 220 yen each, and a draft beer for 480 yen. The meat at Heiwaen is marinated with a special sauce made from 12 different seasonings for each order, following the traditional method called "Ichiduke." The Limited Quantity Sagari was the highlight, with just the right thickness and tenderness, enhanced by the sauce. The Upper Kalbi was a good choice as well, as the special selection can be too fatty for some. The Roast was thinly sliced and had a light flavor compared to the other cuts. It had been a while since I had yakiniku, and I was very satisfied, although I noticed the sauce was sweeter than I remembered. My friend thought it was just okay. Ordering two large rice portions was to share with my friend, as I used to order four or five large portions in the past. Unfortunately, my stomach from the golden age of eating large amounts has long gone. The Higashi Ginza branch had an accident last September and was closed for a while, but it has now reopened with a renovated interior. This was my first time at the Higashi Ginza branch, so I can't compare the new interior to the old one, but the booth I was in seemed to be the newest in the Heiwaen group. By the time I left, there were many customers waiting. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

The first place was a seafood izakaya, the second was Indian curry, and for the finale, we went for "yakiniku"! It's not common to finish with yakiniku, but I couldn't resist. The two people I went with were already full and tired, but I was excited to try the famous yakiniku restaurant in Obihiro. They serve Tokachi wagyu beef. We each ordered a drink and four types of meat: lamb ribs, top sirloin, black wagyu karubi, and Kobe karubi. The karubi was tender and delicious, but everyone found it a bit too fatty since they were already full. Personally, I thought the sirloin was the best. It wasn't too fatty, and at my age, I find sirloin more enjoyable than karubi. Overall, the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. I think it would have been better to go a bit further for a famous Genghis Khan restaurant instead.

Fatty pork, beef tongue, Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), skirt steak, pork intestine, kalbi (marinated beef ribs), bibimbap, cold noodles, etc. We rushed in to eat before the fireworks, and luckily got a table easily. Even though the kids don't eat rice, they love meat. We ate to our hearts' content and it only cost us around 12,000 yen for five people. Cheap, delicious, full, satisfied.

For dinner in Obihiro, I went to the "Heiwaen Higashiginza" for some Genghis Khan. When I arrived around 6:00 pm during the Obon period, there were already 6 groups waiting ahead of me. When I asked about the wait time, I was told it would be a little over an hour, so I decided to wait. However, even after waiting for an hour and a half, I still had to wait for 2 hours in the end. The inside of the restaurant is divided into private rooms, which allows for a relaxed dining experience. However, this setup also slows down the turnover rate. The menu offers Genghis Khan and various types of meat. I ordered the special Genghis Khan (560 yen), Tokachi Wagyu upper Kalbi (880 yen), Hokkaido special Harami (880 yen), and Hokkaido upper Sagari (780 yen). The Genghis Khan was easy to eat without any unpleasant smell. I was surprised by how tender the Harami was! It was probably the most delicious Harami I've ever had. I ended up ordering another plate. The restaurant is loved by locals for its reasonable prices. If only the operation was a bit smoother, it would be perfect.

First, I ordered the pork hormone set meal. I had a Horoyoi sparkling beer to drink, which was easy to drink. The rice and miso soup were delicious, and the pork hormone was also tasty. Next, the premium Jingisukan had thick and tender meat, which was delicious. The kalbi, upper mino, and sagari were average. Even though it was not charcoal-grilled, cooking on a stove was still enjoyable. The set meal offers great value for money, and after eating to my heart's content and having a few drinks, I thought that the taste and cost-effectiveness of ordering individual items at this yakiniku restaurant is hard to find elsewhere.

I felt like having Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) on a Sunday night, so I came here. Among the few famous barbecue restaurants in the city that are open on Sundays during the pandemic, this is one of them. I arrived around 17:15 just after opening, and luckily I was smoothly guided to a private room with a sunken hearth style. More and more customers came in later, so I think I was lucky. The effect of this private room is amazing. For a small additional fee of 200 yen, you can relax as if you were at home. Even if it takes a while for the staff to come when you press the call button or if the dishes are slow to arrive, I don't mind much because I'm so relaxed. Just this alone makes me think it's worth revisiting. Even in Tokyo, when having a secret meeting, I choose Yugentei instead of expensive Jomon-en. The premium Genghis Khan had no smell or fat, and I was able to enjoy the pure taste of mutton. I ordered it with salt, but it was mild, so I ended up using the sauce. For those who like mutton with a strong taste like me, the cheaper regular Genghis Khan (sauce) might be more cost-effective. The Chorogi salad was delicious with a hint of sesame oil. Also, the soup base for the kupa (rice dish) and tail soup was tasty. My son, who is usually a picky eater and eats very little, polished off even my portion. Eating whatever you like as much as you want for just 3,000 yen per adult(!). The satisfaction level was very high. I walked back to the hotel feeling a little tipsy.
