- Ordered item: Curry chicken with salted chicken skin
- Taste: The chicken was dry and not juicy, not delicious. It seemed like it had been sitting for a long time or the temperature control was poor. It's expensive and not tasty, so it's better to go for KFC or convenience store fried chicken at this price.
- Staff attitude: The staff had a rough attitude, typical of older women.
- Appearance of the store: The store is clean.
- Other comments: Will not be returning.

I visited Joy Pack Chicken Showa Store, which is close to where I was staying after a day trip to Kushiro. I ordered 4 pieces of curry chicken for 220 yen each and 10 pieces of Joy Chicken for 550 yen. I noticed that there was an option to add an extra piece of chicken for only 70 yen more, but I had already paid with cashless payment. The chicken was popular and there was a line forming behind me. When I finally got the chicken and ate it later, I found that the curry flavor was very subtle and the chicken was crispy. The Joy Chicken had a flavor similar to salted potato chips. Overall, I enjoyed the chicken and it was worth trying.

Hidden (?) Kushiro specialty Joy Pack Chicken! I really wanted to eat it, so I went right after it opened! The tempo is red and white in the shape of a chicken, super cute!! The interior of the store is also cute. I think it closed once and then reopened? The chicken is curry flavored. The curry flavor is more subtle than I expected. There seem to be various cuts available. It's true that you don't see this kind of chicken at other places very often. The Joy Chi is flavored with green seaweed. This one is also delicious. The potato is cheese & pepper flavored. Wow, it's really delicious! I was satisfied after eating. Thank you for the meal!

Joy Pack Chicken in Kushiro today with two people, it's the second day of the new year. Although it was my wife who said "Let's go to Kushiro," as soon as she found out that I had completed visiting all the ramen shops in Kushiro, she said, "Let's go to Kushiro." This lady is quite straightforward. The main purpose seems to be shopping at Aeon. She's not into fashion, so she's a budget-conscious person. As we approached Aeon, we found Joy Pack Chicken. "So this is it?" Apparently, this was also my wife's destination. The place was quite crowded. The background music was a woman singing a song by Masaki Suda. They only have "Curry Chicken" and other potato dishes. We ordered two servings of Curry Chicken for 472 yen, which is not cheap. By the way, there is another Joy Pack Chicken in Kushiro, located in Konoe. My wife said, "Well, let's go to Konoe too and complete the challenge of visiting all Joy Pack Chicken stores." I actually passed by the other store two days later because the traffic was heavy. Maybe next time. The man fries the chicken, and the woman handles the register. After waiting for about 10 minutes, our number was called. When the dishes arrived, we noticed that they were not the same part of the chicken. It was like biting into a calf's leg rather than a thigh. Just a random and casual conversation. The meat was delicious. The curry flavor was not strong, so it was elegant, but I thought it could be a bit more bold. If they are emphasizing curry, it could use a stronger curry flavor. The meat was good though. My wife ate breast meat for my sake. Oh, I feel bad now. She doesn't really care that much. It's good that the thigh-loving old man didn't eat the thigh and didn't complain.

On my way to Obihiro, I came across a newly opened Joy Pack Chicken store! The store looked so fun and inviting that I couldn't resist going in. Unfortunately, this branch only sells curry chicken (they also have potatoes and drinks). I bought four pieces of curry chicken. It seemed like they had been fried for a while as they lacked juiciness. However, the crispy texture and the perfect curry flavor made up for it, and I was completely satisfied with the delicious taste. Thank you, "Showa branch"!

I saw a TV show about a closed and reopened restaurant in Kushiro serving soul food a while ago, and I found the first Joy Pack Chicken shop near AEON Mall on my way back. I tried one in the car right away. It was a curry-flavored fried chicken, which was quite unique and delicious. I plan to enjoy the rest with a beer when I get home. If I had to nitpick, I prefer the fried chicken to be a bit crispier so that the cartilage comes off easily for eating.

Chicken curry. I wonder when was the first time I had it? Probably close to 40 years ago when I was in junior high school. There used to be Joy Pack Chicken near the back of the station, before you walk through Shoppers Ryoko. I think there was another one called Nakazon. The potatoes had a unique taste, maybe they were mashed and fried thinly. It was different from McDonald's or KFC, but delicious. I bought 3 pieces of Chicken Curry for 258 yen each straight from the airport to here. It was tasty even when cold, so I ate it at the hotel. A taste that Osaka doesn't have! I will come back again. Next time, I might try the potatoes.

I used the room delivery service for a travel in Kushiro. I ordered the famous take-out chicken from Kushiro, Yam Yam and Joy Pack Chicken (JPC). I wanted to confirm which one tastes better this time. [Appetizer] Curry Chicken 220 yen x 2 Curry-flavored chicken. It's made with thigh meat, but I prefer breast meat. Unfortunately, JPC doesn't offer breast meat option, so I had to choose Yam Yam by default. I wish JPC would offer breast meat option as well.

Curry chicken and fried chicken. When you come to Kushiro, try the local gourmet dishes. Delicious. There was only one staff member at the restaurant, so they were cooking and serving at the same time. I had to wait after ordering, but I was disappointed when the food was served from the showcase instead of being freshly fried.

In November 2021, I had a party at my partner's parents' house. We ordered Joy Pack Chicken over the phone to go along with the sushi. I had never been to the Showa store before, so I placed an order over the phone and picked it up. Their website looked nice and clean. I ordered a 5-piece pack of salted chicken and two waffle potatoes. When I had purchased it from the Ashino store before, I thought it tasted slightly different from the Jojyo Service Center, but this time at the Showa store, it tasted just like the old days. This is the taste of Joy Pack that I remember. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visit date July 23, 2021 After lunch, I had tea on my way home and passed by Joy Pack Chicken. Yes, it was a visit with a companion. What we bought: - Curry Chicken x2 for 220 yen each - Joy Chicken 5 pieces for 280 yen I wanted to try the Salted Chicken, but it was sold out, so we ended up with the above items. The Curry Chicken seemed to be fried too much. Even though it's thigh meat, it was dry. The curry flavor was just subtle. The smell coming from the Joy Chicken bag was really nice, but when we tried it, it had a slightly off smell. The coating was thin but the oil was a bit too greasy and soggy. The meat itself was juicy as it was thigh meat, so if it had been fried more crisply, it would have been tastier. Honestly, I used to think that Joy Pack's Curry Chicken was better, but now it doesn't seem much different from Oji Curry Chicken. Also, the price has gone up, so it lost its cheap appeal. By the way, you can pay with PayPay and au PAY. Thank you for the meal.

I have been a fan of Tenya for 40 years since the days of the Jujo Service Center. Even back in the original Jujo days, the crispiness of the tempura varied depending on who fried it. (That was part of the fun as a customer) The Showa branch also has variations in the crispiness of the tempura when you buy it, but I think that's a good thing.

Hokkaido was one of the first places to be hit hard by the coronavirus, making it increasingly difficult to dine out. During that time, when we were unsure of what to do and feeling afraid of the unknown, we started staying at home more and opting for takeout. Our family decided to try Joy Chicken, a place known for its curry. While there was a small dining area, the focus was on takeout. We ordered some salt chicken and two curry dishes, thinking of our twins. The salt chicken had a crispy coating, true to Joy Chicken's style, and was delicious. However, when it comes to Joy Chicken, curry is still the best in my opinion. It's convenient with a spacious parking lot when we have errands in the Showa area. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
