I found this restaurant while searching for a soup curry restaurant in the Higashi Ward. It's not a specialty store, so I wasn't sure if the curry would be authentic or not. There were no photos posted, so I couldn't judge based on that. However, a reviewer named zin had posted the lunch menu, which included not only soup curry but also Gapao rice, so I had hopes that it might be delicious. I entered the address into my navigation system and arrived at what looked like a residential area. The restaurant was located at the back of a house, so I was a bit confused. When I circled around to the opposite side of the block, I saw a sign and found the restaurant easily. It was about 40 meters from the road, with a large parking lot with numbered spots that made me think it was a well-equipped restaurant, but upon closer inspection, it was a monthly parking lot (laughs). There was an empty space right next to the restaurant, so I parked there. Inside, there were counter seats and table seats, giving it a dining bar vibe. I was the only customer, so I sat at a table and inquired about the spiciness of the soup curry. They said they couldn't adjust the spiciness level and that it was around medium. When asked if I didn't like spicy food, I explained that I actually enjoy spicy food and usually eat very spicy dishes. After checking with the owner, they confirmed it was okay. The wait time was a bit long, about 20 minutes. In specialty stores, they usually start cooking with pre-prepared ingredients, so they can serve the dish relatively quickly. But in non-specialty stores, longer cooking times are common. When the soup curry arrived, I could tell it was warm. I took a sip and thought, "Ah, it's warm as I expected." The presentation was very meticulous, but I think the soup had cooled down because they had carefully plated two servings. I prefer my soup piping hot. As for the taste, the light broth was flavorful and delicious, but since it was only mildly spicy, it felt a bit lacking. I think it would be even more delicious if they provided chili pepper to increase the spiciness. The large chicken leg had a crispy outer layer and was tasty, but it was a bit difficult to eat as the bones didn't come off easily without using a knife and fork, and the joints had to be picked up by hand. The wooden fork provided was not very easy to use. There were many types of vegetables, but it was disappointing that there were no potatoes. At the end of the meal, they asked if the spiciness was okay, and I cheerfully replied that I could handle it even spicier (laughs). Thank you for the meal.
