【Completely Non-Smoking】Located in an area near Muroran Industrial University and Muroran City College of Nursing where many students live, this Nepalese curry and soup curry restaurant opened in 2015 in the area along the Washibetsu River. They offer a stamp card where you get a stamp for each meal, and every 5 stamps earn you a free drink (juice, lassi, or tea). The restaurant is on the second floor of an apartment building right at the intersection along Washibetsu Station Avenue, near the Muroran Circular Line. It's about a 20-minute walk from JR Washibetsu Station. On my first visit at 1:00 PM on December 20, I found the entrance to be a bit intimidating, with a retro or old-fashioned vibe. Surprisingly, there was a "completely non-smoking" sticker at the entrance, which was unexpected given the area's high student population. The menu included soup curry and even a Sunday-only Biryani set. I decided to order the Mutton Vegetable Soup Curry and a Chicken Biryani for takeout. The soup curry was rich with chunks of lamb, and the saffron rice was also very filling. The spiciness level was set to the maximum the restaurant offered, which was just right for me. Overall, it's a place I would like to visit again to try their other dishes like Chicken Green Soup Curry and Mutton Saag Curry.

I went to a soup curry restaurant nearby, but it was closed for preparation even though it was supposed to be open on weekends. I couldn't wait for over 2 hours, so I looked around and decided to go to another restaurant I saw nearby. The parking lot had space for two cars across from the Yamagi Clinic. Inside the restaurant, there were about six Nepalese staff members eating, and they greeted me in fluent Japanese and told me to sit wherever I liked. The menu was very affordable, and I ordered the "Cheese Naan A Set" (tax included 720 yen + 100 yen) which came with chicken curry, turmeric rice, cheese naan, and salad. The salad had cabbage, watercress, purple cabbage, carrots, and a mildly acidic orange dressing. The turmeric rice was a bit firm. The naan was hot and filled with plenty of cheese. The curry had lots of chicken pieces. It was really delicious and a great deal for only 720 yen on weekdays. The extra naan was 100 yen. My companion ordered the "Saino A Set" (tax included 800 yen + 100 yen) which included chicken and vegetable curry, keema curry, turmeric rice, naan, and salad. All the curries were tasty but a bit salty. I think they would be even better with less salt. Overall, I felt like I got a good deal finding this delicious and affordable Nepalese curry in Muroran. Thank you, Saino!

Green curry yakisoba, I take my hat off to the challenging spirit behind it.

Nepalese curry restaurant. There are many Nepalese curry restaurants around Muroran, but the curry here is more suited to the Japanese palate, making it easy to eat. It's my favorite Nepalese curry restaurant in this area. If you order a set, it's only 780 yen for lunch, and you can eat all the naan you want, so the portion size is sufficient and the cost performance is quite high. The entrance of the restaurant is very hard to find, and I still don't know where the parking lot is, which is a downside, but that's about the only complaint.

The authentic curry naan with great cost performance allows free refills up to the first serving, and you can choose the level of spiciness that makes you happy when you're hungry - they even have a level 10 spiciness, and apparently there's a secret spiciness level as well...?

The food is delicious, but having soup curry in the set menu... I wish there were other varieties to enjoy. The drink bar and soup bar were great! The kids' toys were also luxurious!

Located a few kilometers north of JR Washibetsu Station, near Muroran National College of Technology. Access by Donan Bus is recommended. This Nepalese curry restaurant also offers Malaysian and Thai dishes on the menu. The curry has a firm texture, with a balanced spiciness and aromatic spices. The cheese naan is thin but generously filled with cheese, making it easy to eat and delicious. The seasoning for the samosas is unique and different from chutney or ketchup, so be sure to try it. It seems that if you order one hour in advance, you can try the chicken biryani with basmati rice... I'll challenge that next time!

The former location of a café called "Parufan 3". It is a store that is now being operated as a different business, with all comic books removed. The staff are all foreigners, and while ordering and payment are not an issue, having in-depth Japanese conversations may be a bit challenging. I ordered a set meal, which was quite generous in portion size. If four people were to order four sets on a four-person table, it would be cramped and there would be difficulty finding space for drinks. It might be something to be cautious about for women or those with smaller appetites. The taste and portion size were both good. The naan bread, in particular, was delicious. It was more chewy than fluffy, with a slightly oily surface that leaves your hands oily when tearing it apart. They provide disposable hand wipes, so make sure to keep them handy. The all-you-can-eat naan promotion ended at the end of December 2015, but you can still have seconds for up to two pieces. From the third piece onwards, it costs 100 yen per piece. However, I found the initial portion to be sufficient for me. You can choose the level of spiciness from a scale of 1 to 10. In my opinion, the regular spice level at Coco Ichibanya would be around 2, and the mild level at 1 would be around 3. However, the spiciness varies between the vegetable curry and the keema curry, with the vegetable curry tasting sweeter with lots of vegetables. I tried a few different spice levels with my companions, and overall, the curries were delicious. While I cannot compare it to authentic Indian curry (haha), the distinct flavors of each curry left a lasting impression. I will probably come back to this place again. Lastly, there is no parking available at this restaurant. Since it is located on a busy bus route, it is recommended to park in a non-disruptive location and walk to the restaurant.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of an apartment building right at the intersection of Washibetsu Ekimae-dori and the Muroran Circular Line. It's about a 20-minute walk from JR Washibetsu Station. I tried their takeout biryani and was surprised to find that they use authentic basmati rice. They offer it without the need for reservations on Sundays, which means they must be making it fresh every Sunday. The biryani comes in two different colors, indicating that it can be prepared quickly and cost-effectively. The basmati rice is cooked in a clay oven, giving it a proper taste and texture, and the dish is well-seasoned with spices and herbs, as well as dried fruits and chicken. Considering the price and effort put into it, it was quite good.
