There are many soba restaurants named "Ikkyu" nationwide, and the one near my house in Sapporo is very famous, although the prices are not always affordable. The Ikkyu on the second floor of the bus terminal at Kita 24-jo is a casual place where you can enjoy soba, frequented by elderly customers. I used to come here for lunch when I worked at 24-jo. It's Friday at 6:30 pm, and there is only one customer before and after me. The customers here are mostly older in age. I usually order the soba set for 770 yen or the rice bowl set, but today I decided to try the "Tenmori Soba" for 900 yen. It came with one shrimp, three slices of fish cake, two slices of bell pepper, and one slice of pumpkin. The shrimp was small and the batter was a bit too dark, but for 900 yen, it was good enough. Coffee and soba tea are free-flowing here, although I only had coffee today. Other reviews may not be so positive, mentioning the cramped space with a pillar in the middle, the distant kitchen and cashier, and the difficulty in getting noticed when entering the store. However, this place is more of a soba shop for the common people rather than for soba enthusiasts. The menu is extensive and affordable, with a strong nostalgic atmosphere. I personally like this place. For first-timers, I recommend trying the soba set with five side dishes.

I visited "Ikkyu" for the first time on January 9th. I went for dinner at 4:20 pm as a solo diner. There were 3 customers in total, including 2 groups before me. The entrance with a navy blue half-curtain was a bit confusing, and it was hard to tell who the staff were. I ended up mistakenly declaring myself as a customer to the other customers before being properly guided to my seat. I ordered the chilled Inaka Soba for 800 yen after carefully considering the menu. The dish was served after a wait of about 12 minutes and came with toppings such as kamaboko, tamagoyaki, grated daikon, mizuna, tenkasu, shredded nori, and myoga. There were also chopped scallions and wasabi provided as condiments. The tenkasu seemed a bit dark, almost burnt. Myoga is not commonly used in Hokkaido, and I first learned about it from a rakugo story called "Myoga-juku." The soba was said to be hand-cut on-site from freshly ground buckwheat, but the noodles seemed slightly warm and lacked a strong flavor. It would have been better if they were a bit cooler. The soba broth was served alongside, but without a separate soba cup, it seemed like we were supposed to pour it directly into the bowl. The color of the broth appeared quite dark, but I wished they had provided a separate cup for it. The taste of the soba broth was quite unique, perhaps due to the water quality in Sapporo. I'm not used to the taste of tap water in Sapporo, as I find it slightly unpleasant when warm. I was intrigued to see a chilled curry soba on the menu, as I had never seen a cold curry dish before. I will have to visit again to try it. I didn't notice many alcohol options on the menu, so I need to study it more next time. Overall, it was an interesting experience.

After finishing work, I had some business to attend to and headed to Kotoni Station by subway. I achieved my goal, but had to carry over some tasks for later. To lift my spirits, I decided to try out a new soba restaurant. It's called "Ikkyu" even though it's in Kotoni. Inside, there was only one female customer enjoying a set for drinking in the evening. I ordered a soba set meal with a beer, requesting the soba and small rice to be served later. The soba and beer arrived together. They served a large portion of sour pickled vegetables, which was overwhelming. Additionally, the sour cucumber with red shiso and the sour salad with vinegar and green shiso were served. The broccoli and shimeji mushroom stew, rolled omelette, and fake mackerel were all served in tiny portions, almost like feeding scraps. I wonder who they are targeting with their business. It's quite disappointing. At this point, I didn't even feel like having the finishing soba. It turns out that there are plastic meringues available outside of the ward office cafeteria. They seem quite cheap.

After a long time, I visited the area around 24-jo. I had a little drink and passed by the station. Oh, I remember now, Mambo closes early during emergencies, so I couldn't go in. Ah! The curtain is out! I'll go in! Excuse me, is it closed already? Oh, I see...(*´-`) I'll just have soba? Just soba♪ and I was able to enter~^ - ^I ordered the usual: Tanuki soba for 630 yen. I quietly waited alone for a while. Here it is! Thank you so much, owner! The broth is delicious♪ It has plenty of tempura crumbs, kamaboko, mizuna, and seaweed. What surprised me was the addition of one more thing! Lots of green onions! It felt like there was one and a half green onions in it, even more than the tempura crumbs. When I told the owner that the green onions were amazing, he laughed. The green onions are cooked with the broth, making them sweet and delicious! They even have a sake set, so I'll come back for drinks next time~ The soba set for 700 yen is also a great deal^ ^I found a restaurant before the soba shop! Thank you for the meal(╹◡╹)

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, and it is a designated rare disease by the government. There is no cure for my rare disease yet. Administering "blood products" for 5 consecutive days temporarily improves symptoms, but there must be a few weeks interval until the next administration. Also, vaccination like COVID is not allowed for a month after administering "blood products." I was hospitalized 5 times last year for rare disease treatment. I had my first hospitalization of 2022 in January, but I was discharged 8 days ago. Your supportive comments are always a source of energy for me during hospitalization. I am truly grateful. Due to hospitalization, comments and likes may be delayed, but I will definitely respond. Thank you for your continued support. In the future, I plan to focus on reviewing past unrevealed reviews. I will limit new visits depending on my health condition. "Soba-ya Ikkyu" is a soba restaurant that uses Hokkaido stone-ground soba flour for hand-made soba. I visited with my usual companion for lunch on a holiday. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the "North 24th Bus Terminal" in the North 24th district of Sapporo. It was a visit around 2 pm on a holiday. There were no customers before or after. I ordered the "Katsu-don set with cold soba for 850 yen," and my companion ordered the "Special grated soba for 850 yen." After waiting for 17 minutes, our soba dishes arrived. The Katsu-don set with cold soba used Hokkaido stone-ground soba flour for hand-made soba. The flavor was not too strong, and the soba broth was mild. The Katsu-don was not as mini as described, and the tonkatsu was neatly placed. The mini salad had a refreshing vinegar dressing. The cucumber pickles were like Kyu-chan style. The price was 850 yen including tax. The special grated soba with cold soba used Hokkaido stone-ground soba flour for hand-made soba. The flavor was not too strong, and it was topped with mountain vegetables, grated daikon, and chopped seaweed. The tempura was freshly fried with shrimp and squid. The price was 850 yen including tax. Both the cold soba and soba broth were typical of traditional soba. Personally, I preferred the Katsu-don set over the soba alone. The set dishes suited the soba well. It's a reasonably priced soba restaurant that is convenient for everyday use. I might try the tempura bowl set for 750 yen next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon. When I entered, the staff was busy on their phone in front of the kitchen and didn't notice my arrival. A regular customer kindly got their attention for me. I ordered the parent and child bowl set for 850 yen. The bowl was half the size shown in the picture, but it was quite filling. They also offered free coffee and green tea, which was a nice touch. However, the staff was still on their phone even when I was leaving. While using QR codes for payment and social media promotion is modern and good, neglecting face-to-face customer service seems counterproductive. I'm not sure if I'll visit again next time.

The soba set meal for 700 yen is quite affordable. I think the kakesoba for 550 yen plus rice and side dishes for 150 yen are pre-made and reheated in the microwave. The egg roll is sweet and nostalgic, which I like. The mackerel is not dry, and goes well with the rice. The cabbage is a bit of a mystery (laughs). If you focus on the cost performance, this place is good for soba. Since there is no parking lot, I parked at a nearby bank and ran errands while picking up the food.

Today, I was hit hard by the snow from the morning... Due to the blizzard causing poor visibility, the JR trains were delayed by 25 minutes. I kept checking the train operation information during the day, and it worsened to the point of full-day suspension. So, I decided to take the subway connecting bus back home from Sapporo Station to Kita 24-jo Station. The building at the station is quite old, around 47 years old. I explored some food options and ended up at a restaurant on the second floor. It's been a while since I entered a restaurant on the second floor of a building. I ordered a warm natto soba from the menu and was surprised by the unique presentation when it arrived. The dish had a thin omelet, okra, grated daikon, nori, and natto in the middle. The wasabi and green onions were served on separate plates, just like the egg yolk. The soba was good, and I also noticed other affordable menu options. Next time, I might come back for a drink and some snacks.

This place has been operating for a long time at the 2nd floor of the Sapporo Municipal Subway Kita 24-jo Station bus terminal, and it is a Showa retro hidden gem eatery. Many locals use it as a place to have a drink, and the sight of people reading newspapers and sipping beer in the radio-playing interior adds to the nice atmosphere. The most popular "soba set meal" has increased in price to 700 yen. Given the current situation, it is somewhat understandable. Looking at the menu on the wall, other set meals seem appealing as well. The sound of "Ping" coming from the kitchen after ordering is quite common. The impression of everything, including the soba, being sour, was the same as my last visit. Perhaps due to the influence of the coronavirus pandemic.

After enjoying the "kashiwa soba" at a nearby beauty charcoal-grilled chicken standing soba shop, I couldn't help but also try the mori soba. During lunchtime on weekdays, the place was bustling with locals, elderly people, and office workers. The shop is located on the second floor of a bus terminal. The long and deep interior of the shop gives off a very casual and cozy atmosphere. Mori soba costs 500 yen and is smooth and silky with a soft texture, a very standard soba made with common flour. The portion is just right, not too much or too little. The broth is rich in flavor but light in texture, with a hint of sweetness in the aftertaste. The condiments are simple and the soba water is clear like a kettle. The menu boasts of "handmade, hand-cut" soba, although the benefits of hand-pulled soba may not be immediately noticeable. The menu also includes options like herring soba and seiro soba, which seem quite authentic. There are also soba appetizers and evening drink sets available, as well as a variety of set meals with rice bowls. Overall, it seems like a convenient and well-rounded shop for the locals.

At the top of the stairs from the terminal... there was a new soba sign. Climbing up with a little expectation, I reached the second floor. The hallway felt nostalgic... I realized this building is directly connected to the subway, so it has a lot of history. The interior atmosphere is retro, despite the new chairs. The music playing on the radio creates a nice ambiance. Soba set meal for 650 yen includes cold soba (machine-made), grilled fish (mackerel that day), dashimaki tamago (unique sweetness in the broth), vegetable side dishes (bamboo shoots, konjac, aburaage, enoki mushrooms), salad (daikon), pickles, and a small bowl of rice. Coffee and soba tea are self-service from a pot in the center of the store. I was initially drawn in by the new soba poster and ordered the mori set, but seeing a couple next to me order the soba set, I decided to switch my order. It was indeed a good deal for the price. The two craftsmen-like men running the shop were quiet but likable. Thank you for the meal.

Located in Kita-ku, Sapporo, at North 23 West 4, connected to the Subway Namboku Line Kita 24 Jo Station, is a building with a bus terminal on the 2nd floor. I discovered this restaurant through a lunch blog that I always read, and after over a year and a half (having visited twice before when it was closed), I finally managed to visit this time. I arrived around 6:00 pm with one customer before me and one after me. I ordered the "Evening Set" for 1.5k. According to the menu, the set includes: - 2 small cups of sake or 1 small bottle of beer or 2 glasses of shochu - Tempura (shrimp, pumpkin, maitake mushrooms) - Rolled omelette - Homemade satsuma-age - Today's side dish - Fish - Soba noodles (hot or cold) I opted for hot sake. The dishes arrived shortly after. I received 2 small cups of sake and two appetizers. One was fried soba and the other was a light pickled cucumber and cabbage with shredded kelp. The menu mentioned that there would be over 5 additional dishes, which was quite impressive. The sake tasted a bit disappointing, probably a cheaper quality. The dishes kept coming one after the other. I had a curry-flavored cabbage side dish, rolled omelette, homemade satsuma-age, and sweet soy sauce simmered Pacific saury. The rolled omelette was fluffy but seemed reheated. The homemade satsuma-age was impressive. I wonder where they actually make it. The tempura arrived about 15 minutes after the sake, and I switched my soba to kake soba at that point. The tempura consisted of shrimp, pumpkin, and maitake mushrooms, all freshly fried. I took a photo when the tempura arrived, which means I had been patiently waiting after sipping on the sake and nibbling on the fried soba. The overall taste of the dishes was okay, but the variety and service were excellent. The owner was very humble. Finally, the kake soba was served. The soba noodles were medium-thin and slightly soft, topped with the tempura. The menu offers a variety of soba dishes, with the "Soba Teishoku" being popular. I'm not sure if it's only available for lunch. Unidentified Flying Objects. Thank you for the meal. This visit to the restaurant happened a few days after my previous visit to "Sobadokoro Ikkyu." The similarity in the restaurant names was purely coincidental, not intentional....Well, maybe a little intentional (laughs).

On a certain weekday, I had planned to go to 3 different restaurants for lunch, but they were all closed. So, I ended up at a traditional soba noodle restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the bus terminal near Kita 24-jo Station. The restaurant had a long and narrow space with 8 tables, and there seemed to be a raised seating area in the back. There was no background music, only the sound of the air conditioning. I decided to try the "Nishin Soba (750 yen)" which had a wonderful aroma of curry. The soba noodles were average in thickness and had a chewy texture. The broth was gentle with hints of mirin and soy sauce. The herring topping was thick and tender, giving it a satisfying texture. It came with white leeks, watercress, and chopped green onions on the side. After the meal, I enjoyed a cup of hot coffee. I realized that the Nishin Soba was quite a good deal compared to other places where it usually costs around 1000 yen. Despite it being lunchtime, I noticed that there were 3 groups of people enjoying their meals with beer, creating a cozy atmosphere. It seemed like a popular spot, as more customers started to arrive in the latter part of lunchtime. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On a holiday, I wandered around the area near the 24-Jo subway station... I walked around the station but the restaurant I had in mind was unexpectedly closed, even though it wasn't a regular holiday. Feeling too cold to walk far, I ended up seeking refuge at a place called "Ikkyu" near the bus terminal on the second floor. There were signs for a "Drinking Set (available for lunch too)" near the entrance and stairs of the bus terminal. There were two groups of customers ahead of me, each with two people. The restaurant had six tables for four people, one table for two, and one sunken kotatsu table for four people. I sat down and ordered the "Drinking Set @1,500" with BEER and cold soba noodles. The set included "two bottles of beer or sake, five small dishes, and soba noodles." The first dish served was pickled radish, which seemed to be homemade with a hint of yuzu citrus flavor. It was lightly seasoned and easy to eat. Next were the rolled omelet and simmered saury. The rolled omelet was slightly salty, making it a good accompaniment for alcohol or rice. The simmered saury was cooked until the bones were soft, and it was served warm after being reheated slightly. It was well-seasoned and tasty. The next dish was oden with ingredients like tofu, fish cake, surimi, and shirataki noodles, served with mustard on the side. It was a bit too salty for my taste. The vegetable tempura was just like regular tempura but with a fluffy texture. It seemed homemade and was served without soy sauce. The cold soba noodles were served at the end of the meal, and it was a full portion despite being part of a set menu. The soba had a delicate fragrance when pulled, and the dipping sauce was slightly sweet, which I'm not a fan of. There was a sign on the wall saying, "Help yourself to coffee, soba tea." The cost performance was not bad, but looking at the menu, the "Soba Set Meal" included soba noodles, grilled fish, rolled omelet, vegetable dishes, vegetable salad, pickles, and a small bowl of rice, all for 650 yen. If you add a beer for 500 yen, it might be a better deal than ordering separately. I left the restaurant satisfied and full. Thank you for the meal.

It was 5:30 pm on a regular day. There were two customers before me and no customers after me. I occupied a 4-person table all by myself. I hadn't tried the set menu that I recommended to others before (oops). There were two options: the "Evening Drinking Set for 1500 yen" with 2 bottles of Choshi or 1 beer, 5 assorted appetizers, and soba noodles as a closer, and the "One Rest Set for 1500 yen" with 2 bottles of Choshi or 1 beer or 2 glasses of shochu, 5 oden dishes, 3 snacks, and soba noodles as a closer. I couldn't quite understand the difference between the two sets, so I asked. They told me that they couldn't provide the One Rest Set that day. I didn't bother asking why. I ordered the Evening Drinking Set with a beer and soba noodles on the side. The beer was Kirin "Ichiban Shibori" or "Jyoshin Onna." I poured the beer myself while reading a magazine. The assorted appetizers arrived one by one - pickled white cabbage, oden with various ingredients, sweet rolled omelette, hot kamaboko, and salmon slices. The pickled cabbage was too salty for my taste, the oden was decent, the rolled omelette was sweet and fluffy, the kamaboko was hot and delicious, but the salmon slices were disappointing. When I finished eating, I asked for the soba noodles. They were supposed to be new buckwheat noodles, but they tasted like regular soba noodles. I spent 45 minutes there and paid 1500 yen. After finishing reading a magazine, I took the subway home. Princess Mako, you should consider quitting sooner and think about your next move!

This is a review of a soba restaurant located at a bus terminal in Kita-ku, Sapporo. I visited during lunch and ordered the evening drinking set. The set included a bottle of beer or two sake cups, soba noodles, and around five side dishes. The side dishes were surprisingly delicious, including green bean with sesame dressing, simmered tofu, rolled omelette, soup dumplings, pork sauté, and fried smelt. The soba noodles were made with local stone-ground flour and had a firm texture. The atmosphere was cozy and I look forward to returning for a leisurely drink next time.

I don't really go out for soba noodles because if I want noodles, I usually go for ramen. Recently, the soba restaurant I've been to the most in the past five years is probably the one on the second floor of Basuta. It has a nostalgic atmosphere, similar to the one in the basement of the Central Bus Terminal. The set menu with soba and a drink seems to be popular, but the ultimate experience is having soba noodles as a nightcap with some drinks and snacks. What's impressive is that it's a rare find nowadays to have a restaurant where smoking is allowed. With the increasing number of non-smoking establishments, dining out is becoming less appealing. In this day and age, this place is truly remarkable!
