Discovered on the way to Furano! A small individual bento shop that caught my interest. I stopped by on my way back from Furano. They offer salmon bento starting from 400 yen, and fried chicken bento for 500 yen. I also got a mini salted hormone for 350 yen and a mini jingisukan for 300 yen. The fried chicken bento, which is apparently popular, had a generous amount of fried chicken. I ate it an hour after purchasing and it was still warm with a nice black pepper flavor. It also came with bamboo shoots and pickles, but considering the price, I wished there was one more item. I'm looking forward to grilling and enjoying the hormone and jingisukan soon.

The Sagari (Harami) and Lamb Jingisukan from Tada Meats are so delicious. I feel like ordering them again. Now, which one should I start with?

It is located just a few minutes' walk straight from Kami-Furano Station. There is a parking lot (for about 2 cars) and a tent for resting behind the store, where you can also eat your bento. I bought the popular pork sagari (miso flavor) and also ordered lunch bentos. I ordered the most popular pork sagari bento and the second most popular fried chicken bento. It took about 15 minutes, but each bento is made to order, so it's understandable. I enjoyed waiting for the freshly made bentos. Later, a local person came by car to buy bentos. This person was waiting in the parking lot behind the store. The bento comes with kinpira gobou (burdock root) and pickles. The rice in the pork sagari bento is generous. The pork sagari is stir-fried with onions in a sweet and savory soy-based sauce. The flavor is on the milder side, but it goes well with the rice. The fried chicken bento, I think, uses chicken thigh meat. Unlike zangi, the meat is not seasoned, so it could use a little saltiness. It's just right when you use the soy sauce provided with the bento. This bento also has plenty of rice. The bento I had before in Kamifurano had slightly firmer pork sagari with a strong meat flavor, stir-fried onions, and a soft-boiled egg that goes well with the slightly sweet soy-based sauce. It's like a Kamifurano version of pork bowl. It's also delicious to add shichimi (seven spice) halfway through to change the flavor. (It's my preference) The bento starts from 380 yen for the salmon bento and the most expensive is the katsudon or katsu curry for 650 yen. It's nice to be able to enjoy them at a reasonable price. A bento with meat from a butcher shop. I enjoyed it very much.

I went to Kamifurano and had soba for lunch. On my way back, I stopped by a butcher shop called Tada Seinikuten facing the station street. I went there to buy a pork sagari bento, but surprisingly they also sold Genghis Khan (lamb meat), so I bought that as well. The pork sagari bento seemed quite popular as they asked me to wait for about 10 minutes. When the bento was ready, it was piping hot. Since I had just had lunch, I decided to eat the pork sagari bento at home. When I got home, I had the Genghis Khan and pork sagari bento for dinner, and both were delicious. I would like to visit again because I want to eat them again.

[February 2015] To be precise, within this butcher shop, there is a bento shop, although the stores are together, the registers are separate, and it is strictly "Ekimae Bento." Nevertheless, being operated directly by the butcher shop, it piques curiosity. When you think of Kami-Furano, it's a town known for pork sagari. In this area, when we say sagari, it refers to pork sagari rather than beef sagari (harami). In the past, I used to go to Ganbi often, and sometimes there was an all-you-can-eat Sagari and Hormone for 1000 yen, which is pork sagari. In other words, it's the diaphragm. Although it's said that only a small amount can be taken, it seems to be readily available, which may be due to the abundance of meat circulating. They also wholesale to major manufacturers. Now, there is always a mistake, and if you don't make a reservation by phone, you may have to wait for 20-30 minutes depending on the time. Many people also buy for their families, so this is essential. On the other hand, for those who have time, it's recommended to come in without a reservation and order while pondering. The old lady in the butcher shop will talk to you about various things, so you won't get bored (laughs). Now, the most popular pork sagari bento is ordered. The Karaage bento is also delicious and voluminous, but if you're in a town known for pork sagari, you should try it. Finally, it's ready. Pork sagari bento. Pork sagari tends to be crispy, so it's seasoned with a strong salt and pepper or marinated in sauce or stewed, but here it's a sauce flavor. A fruity soy sauce flavor reminiscent of Genghis Khan's sauce. The crispy texture is pleasant, and the rice goes down smoothly. My preference is salt and pepper, though. For those who just want to be full, the Nori Karaage bento or Karaage bento is recommended. [September 2015] It's been a while since I had this bento. Today, I went for the classic Karaage bento. The bikers who seemed to be staying here today were contemplating whether to go for the pork sagari. The classic Karaage bento is just full of volume. And it's only 480 yen. Plus, the juicy chicken thigh meat is slightly spicy. If you want more flavor, soy sauce is also included. You can get full on this. I still haven't tried the bento with the original sausage. [October 2015] So, the chance came surprisingly quickly. The Original Sausage bento. It's 530 yen. The rice is a large serving. The sausage is a thick white sausage with herbs and pepper. It's served with cabbage, kinpira burdock, simmered dish, and pickles. With just that, you can rotate the sausage as the main dish with rice and other side dishes. Yeah, it's quite difficult to just have sausage as a side dish for rice (laughs). However, the sausage is spicy and quite delicious, so next time, I might try the Sausage Curry.

My wife brought back some meat from Tokachi-dake after climbing it. We usually fry it in a pan, but today we tried grilling it on charcoal for a barbecue. The meat turned out juicy and tender, with a nice miso flavor that goes well with beer. Wrapping it in some vegetables could be a good idea too. I haven't been to the restaurant, but I'm curious about trying other types of meat there.

The so-called Furano area consists of three areas: Furano City, Nakafurano Town, and Kamifurano Town, with Biei Town to the north, making it a popular region for Hokkaido tourism. If the season is right, you can enjoy lavender fields, colorful hills, views of the beautiful Daisetsuzan Mountain Range with lingering snow, as well as cheese, wine, and meat. Among these, Kamifurano stands out as a town known for its delicious pork, particularly the cuts like pork sagari and pork toro. One shop in this town, which is originally a butcher shop, offers bento boxes. The entrance of the shop can only be accessed from the butcher shop side, and inside, you'll see a showcase of meat on the right and a counter for ordering bento on the left. The bento boxes are prepared by two women diligently cutting and packing the meat. Even though the specialty is pork, I ordered the pork belly rice bowl, which turned out to be surprisingly delicious. I decided to enjoy the bento at the nearby Hinode Park, known for its lavender fields, where I savored the tender and flavorful pork belly. I look forward to visiting Kamifurano again in the summer.

I bought it on the way during my trip in 2012/5/3!! When it comes to Kamifurano, pork sagari is a specialty. I learned about this about 10 years ago. I had the opportunity to drink with locals in Kamifurano, and they strongly recommended the pork sagari. When I finally tried it in its hometown, it was really delicious, so I jumped at the chance when I found it! After finishing my trip, I rested at home. The pork sagari that was supposed to soothe my tired body after a long drive turned out to be fragrant when cooked. When I tasted it, it was tender and juicy!! The flavor is not too strong, so you can really taste the meat. Oh, I bought the salt flavor, and I think that was a good choice. A delicious snack for my tired body... the alcohol goes down smoothly. I quickly became sleepy (lol). However, pork sagari has quite a volume. I didn't want to leave any behind, so I kept eating more. In the end, I finished 500g in no time and decided to go to bed zzz. With this quality at this price, Kamifurano's pork sagari may be the pinnacle of B-grade gourmet! I also had a similar impression of the Jingisukan in Nagano, which was cheap and delicious, but with repeated price increases, it is becoming a high-end meat. I am impressed by Kamifurano's pork sagari, which maintains its affordability. If you happen to be nearby, you should definitely visit "Tada Butcher Shop" - it was really delicious! Thank you for the meal!!

"About 17 years ago, I was told by a resident of Kamifurano that pork sagari is more delicious than beef! I was skeptical at first, but when I tried it, I found that it was indeed delicious and went perfectly with beer. Sagari is a part of the pork that is equivalent to skirt steak in beef. Since then, I have been trying to find it at local supermarkets, but it's not easy to come by. During a road trip that passed through Furano, I seized the opportunity to buy some. Pork sagari is best grilled on a wire rack to let excess oil drip off, preventing it from becoming greasy. When grilled with a generous amount of salt and pepper, it goes perfectly with beer. The pork sagari here comes both seasoned and unseasoned. I bought the unseasoned one this time, as I enjoy seasoning it myself. The pork sagari here is flavorful, chewy, and very delicious. After enjoying it, we quickly ran out of beer at home (laughs)."

This shop is a butcher shop, but they also have a bento shop. It is convenient for getting meat for camping or barbecue, and they also sell locally produced ham and sausages. You can buy a bento at the attached bento shop and enjoy it on the beautiful hills of Biei. Recommended items on the bento shop menu are the locally produced "Sausage Curry", "Yakiniku Bento", and "Karaage Bento". The menu is diverse and plentiful, so it's hard to choose. Everything tastes delicious. The prices are also reasonable. If you ask, they will let you choose the meat to put in your bento. You can also purchase miso soup, instant noodles, eggs, and fish.

I bought it after a long time. I usually buy pork shio-sagari and pork shio horumon, but this time I bought pork spicy sagari for the first time. It's spicy and delicious with a strong pepper flavor. I will definitely buy it again. It's frozen.

It had been a while since I last visited, and I noticed that the pork sagari bento (and others) had gone up in price. The world is a tough place. The hot rice and side dishes were delicious, and even if it's crowded, they will make you wait to hand you freshly made food. This time, I got the pork sagari bento, yakiniku bento, and homemade wiener bento. All of them went well with the rice! The kinpira side dish was also delicious! The small umeboshi on the Hinomaru rice was a nice touch (laughs). All the ladies working there were polite and efficient. They worked hard to serve us, even though they were busy making bentos. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again soon!

I bought the famous pork sagari from Tada Butcher Shop, which is sold frozen. I brought a cooler bag for this. For dinner, I cooked the pork sagari right away. It was surprisingly light and delicious. It cost about 1000 yen for 500g. The next day, I also tried the hormone, but it had a slightly unpleasant smell and was not as good.

On the first day of my trip to Furano, I went to this place and got a single order of fried chicken while my wife got a tamagoyaki bento box to go. When we arrived at our cottage, we enjoyed the fried chicken with some beer. The fried chicken had a crispy batter with a strong black pepper flavor that went well with the beer. My wife had the tamagoyaki bento box with BBQ and I tried a bite - it had a comforting taste and was delicious. The menu was varied and I think it would be a convenient place to have nearby.
