Welcome.---------- September 2020 ----------In the Hanakawa area of Ishikari City, there was a deep izakaya that served lunch. The place was run by a couple, giving off a familiar feeling to regular customers. The head chef seemed a bit wary of newcomers, but time resolved that. The wife was diligently preparing ingredients, and when I saw the menu outside the restaurant, I was drawn to the "Saba Miso" and "Shio Saba". I almost made a mistake between "half cut and half body" and "1 fish and half body", but luckily I ended up ordering the "1 fish" set. The visual of the Saba Miso set was impressive, and I was glad for the misunderstanding. It was a generous set meal with the delicious taste of the unsalted saba meat, which was cooked tenderly without pressure. The meat was soft and easy to eat, even down to the middle bones. It was a satisfying meal, and I had to pour extra sauce over my rice to enjoy it fully. The small side dishes of macaroni salad and seafood with sauce were also delicious. The miso soup with seaweed and pickles complemented the meal well. The Saba Miso set meal for 1 fish at 700 yen showed their generous service spirit. The other menu items were also reasonably priced.
