This is a soba restaurant located in Nishino, Nishi-ku, Sapporo. It is a bit far from the station, but there is parking available at the back of the store or at the nearby Lawson, making it easy to access by car. The atmosphere is like a local soba restaurant, and it tends to get quite crowded during lunchtime. On this day, I had the "tenseiro" soba. The cold soba had a good flavor of both the soba noodles and the dipping sauce. The tempura was crispy and delicious. It feels like a neighborhood soba restaurant and is a convenient place to visit.

At noon today, I left home around 1 pm and arrived at the restaurant about 5 minutes later. It was still crowded even after 1 pm. Luckily, I managed to find a seat at the counter without having to wait. Looking at the menu, I noticed there were no set meals, so I decided to order the large serving of soba noodles. It was called "oomori soba" here and cost ¥650 including tax. The order arrived in about 10 minutes. The portion size was decent, but the soba noodles seemed to be cut into short pieces, making them easy to break apart. The first bite was tasty, with a good broth. However, the soba noodles lacked firmness and tended to break easily. Halfway through the meal, they brought out soba water, which was milky white and had a rich flavor. I finished the meal and enjoyed the soba water thoroughly. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, although I wished they had more variety in their menu, such as small rice bowls. The soba noodles, despite being prone to breaking, were still enjoyable but lacked a firm texture.

We came to Hachitenan, a local soba restaurant, with our family. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was just like a traditional soba place, which made us feel at ease. The soba tasted great as always, and we were satisfied! We ordered the large size, which was quite generous, and we think it's very good value for the price. Thank you for the meal!

The snack time is also open without closing the curtain, which is very convenient. There is a parking lot in the back of the store. When you enter, the hostess greets you with a gentle smile. I sit in a seat where I can easily watch TV shows, receive water, and place my order. I order the "seiro (mori) soba" for 550 yen. The hostess conveys the order to the chef, and the chef responds energetically. The sound of the soba being boiled and rinsed is amazing. The soba is served by the hostess, saying "Thank you for waiting," and the chef echoes her. The appearance of the soba is exactly as expected. The warm-colored lighting in the dark store during the day is cool. The soba is piled high with a mix of white and light brown colors. It has a smooth texture with a slight roughness on the surface. It is well-cooked and cold. The throat feel when slurping is excellent. The sweetness of the simmered mirin and sugar stands out, along with the acidity and complexity of the broth, which I have become accustomed to. After finishing the soba, I pour the hot soba water from the hot water pot into a small cup, add green onions and tempura flakes, sprinkle with red pepper, and enjoy the "tanuki soup." By adjusting the temperature and adding toppings, the flavor can change significantly. The warm soba was delicious. The specialty "shin soba" was also recommended. It was a great meal.

Today, I had soba lunch at Hachitenan Nishino-ten. I had imagined a historical and subdued atmosphere from the exterior, but the interior was very bright and cozy. It felt like a calming space. It seems that this place doesn't emphasize Shin-soba as much as the main Hachitenan store on Yukue-dori. There are 3 tables for 4 people, 2 raised tatami tables for 4 people, and 3 counter seats. Today, I ordered the warm parent and child soba (large). It arrived in about 10 minutes. As expected, it was topped with a scrambled egg. The soba is slightly thicker than Sasa-soba, making it more delicious for zaru-soba. Next time, I will try the cold soba.

I really wanted to eat soba noodles! Next to the noodle shop Noodle Go, there is a soba restaurant. It looked a bit intimidating from the outside, but once we entered, we saw that it was packed with customers. The menu had so many options that it was hard to choose. And the prices were so reasonable! I ordered my favorite duck soba for 950 yen! What a deal! My daughter got the cold soba, and my son got the curry soba - I didn't even know they had curry soba! The food arrived quickly after we ordered. We all tried each other's dishes and everything was delicious. Our bellies were full and we left satisfied. We will definitely be back!

There are several other shops with the same name, but I decided to visit this one first. It's a local soba restaurant, which feels reassuring. I ordered the seiro soba for 550 yen. The soba noodles were a refreshing white color, and the broth had a slightly sweet taste from the bonito dashi, which I liked. The soba noodles were just the right thickness. And guess what! It came with tempura bits! It was my first time seeing tempura bits served with soba, and it made a big difference. Delicious! It's been a while since I found a soba restaurant that I really like. The soba, the broth, everything was top-notch. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal! I wonder if the other shops are just as good. I'll have to try them out! ^ ^

Located in Nishino, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, this shop is called Hachiten-an! The interior of the shop has a traditional town soba feel, with mainly table seats. The atmosphere is calm and the seating is comfortable. I ordered the chilled nukisoba. It arrived in just a few minutes, topped with tempura crumbs, fish cake, cucumber, seaweed, and sliced boiled egg, which is a distinctive touch. The soba is a white, more refined type, which pairs well with the cold soba. It has a good texture and goes well with the slightly sweet and flavorful dipping sauce. Thank you for the meal.

This is a soba restaurant along Miyanosawa Street in Nishi Ward, Sapporo. I visited this place for two consecutive days during my walk. Despite the slightly lower temperature, I still worked up a sweat after walking for an hour and a half. The restaurant is located on a major street, but it blends in so well with its surroundings that I almost missed it. It had only been open for about 10 minutes, and there were already three groups of customers. I ordered the kashiwa seiro soba. The soba noodles were thin and familiar, with a firm and satisfying texture. The broth, served in a wooden bowl, had a sweet taste with a rich flavor of chicken. The thinly sliced chicken meat had a nice chewy texture and a delicious flavor that truly showcased the charm of kashiwa meat. Unfortunately, they didn't serve alcohol here, but it's probably better for your health.

The "tenseiro" for 1150 yen came with 2 prawns, shishito peppers, seaweed, and shiso leaves. As someone who doesn't like prawns, I was quite disappointed by the lack of vegetables or seafood. It seemed like the majority of the other customers were ordering the hot pot udon (laughs).

After a break of about 4 years, Tabelog has undergone various system changes. The way of reviewing is now unclear with many points different from before. In July 2018, I am writing my second review, this time about "Hachiten-an Nishino Branch", a soba restaurant that exudes a Showa era vibe in the town. The restaurant has been around for about 37 years. Hachiten-an has several branches in Sapporo, and they are famous for their "nishin soba". The menu varies depending on the branch, making each one unique. Even the taste of the "nishin" in the "nishin soba" differs slightly from one branch to another. The main branch of Hachiten-an keeps the secret of their "nishin" for the soba. Those who have trained at the main branch replicate the recipe, which is why the taste can vary. Personally, I prefer the taste of the "nishin" at the main branch. In these times of elderly care, it was a day for my elderly mother's hospital visit. She wanted soba, so we decided to visit this restaurant near the hospital. All three of us ordered "tenzaru" soba. The soba noodles are of the sarashina variety, with a beautiful color. They don't have a strong flavor, but the aroma is nice. The noodles are cooked perfectly and rinsed well with water. They have a clear taste and are easy to eat. The soba broth has a good balance of dashi and soy sauce. It's not overly strong in flavor, but it's well-seasoned. The soy sauce has a rounded taste without being too sweet, complementing the soba well. The tempura consisted of two shrimp tempura, eggplant, green pepper, and seaweed, giving a traditional and reliable taste, though not elegant. The price was 1250 yen (tax included). The sarashina soba is good for a local soba shop, and the soba broth is decent. This restaurant has been loved by the locals for many years. Next time, I might try the "nishin soba" during the winter season. The Nishino branch only offers "nishin soba" during the winter months. It was a delicious meal, thank you.

Sapporo, Nishi Ward Nishino. It is a small soba restaurant that can be seen on the left side when heading west on Kita 1-jo Street. (There are 2 parking spaces next to the store, and 5 shared parking spaces at a nearby convenience store) "Hattendo Nishino Store" Hattendo, which has branches in various locations centering on Sapporo. Although it is known for its herring soba, I have never tried Hattendo's herring soba. Looking at the menu, this restaurant only offers soba (and udon), with no rice dishes or bowl dishes. The presence of udon is also friendly and appealing. I'm torn between trying the herring soba and being drawn to the shrimp tempura (laughs) ● Tempura Nanban Soba (hot) 850 yen There is also Tempura Nanban Toji. This comes with one shrimp tempura and a scrambled egg. Tempura Soba comes with two shrimp tempura. The "Tempura Nanban Soba" I ordered this time comes with one shrimp tempura for 850 yen. The medium-sized shrimp tempura is slightly different in style from the typical tempura with a wide spread of batter found in soba restaurants. The batter is not spread too much but just right, and the shrimp has a great texture, along with shishito peppers. The soup is slightly sweet and rich, served with medium-thin soba noodles. There are white parts of green onions on top. I was a little surprised when the elegant Nanban soba arrived, as I had imagined a more rustic Nanban soba with the green parts of the green onions cut into small pieces. The soup is rich and slightly sweet, but well-balanced and quite delicious. The shrimp tempura has less batter compared to other soba restaurants, so the soup can be enjoyed more lightly. The soba noodles are on the softer side, as they were quite soft due to the hot soup, but still easy to eat. The service is quiet and understated. The menu is simple and written with a brush. Many customers were walking to the restaurant, indicating that it is beloved by locals. It seems that this restaurant has been running for over 30 years in this area, and I also like such soba restaurants with a sense of history.

In Hokkaido, there are historical and multi-branch "Hachiten-an" stores. Each store has a different name like ○○ store or ○○ branch, probably due to different ownerships. This time, feeling unwell, I ordered something different - "Nabe-yaki Udon." It was a standard dish with slightly sweet broth and could have used more simmered ingredients. I also tried the tempura soba, which was also a bit sweet. The old but well-maintained interior of the store, along with the elegant noren, shows their dedication to their products. While it may seem like a typical soba restaurant, there is a sense of comfort and satisfaction when dining here.

It is located near Nishino along Kita 1-jo Street. There are a few parking spaces available. I remembered that the same-named store in Hiragishi had a unique feature where you could enjoy unlimited bonito flakes shaving at the table. Following that memory, I entered the restaurant at lunchtime. There is a good balance of seating with counter, tables, and a raised tatami area. When I opened the menu, I was impressed by the variety of soba dishes. They proudly specialize in soba, with no set meals or rice bowls on the menu! They did have udon though. The price for a seiro (soba served in a bamboo basket) was 500 yen. There were no descriptions of ingredient ratios or origins on the menu or in the restaurant. I ordered the tororo seiro for 700 yen and added a 100 yen large portion. I realized that there were no bonito flakes. Perhaps that was a service unique to the Hiragishi store. The soba arrived in 5 to 10 minutes, with a smooth texture that seemed machine-made. It had a color similar to moretsu soba, but lacked the distinctive aroma. The large portion was slightly too much. The dipping sauce contained raw egg yolk and grated tororo. It felt like a healthy choice due to the sticky texture. The condiments included thickly chopped green onions and wasabi. The soba broth was made from the cooking liquid. Smoking is allowed. It was a traditional local soba restaurant that had a strong presence in the area. It was great to see almost all seats occupied.

It was around the time of Obon in August 2012 when I visited this restaurant. Many shops were closed during Obon, so I called ahead to confirm before visiting. The restaurant had parking space for 7 cars, with 5 spaces located at the nearby Lawson convenience store. I arrived for a late lunch and parked my car in the first spot at Lawson's parking lot. The restaurant is located in Nishino, Nishi Ward, Sapporo, along Kitahichi-Miya no Sawa Street. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. The exterior of the restaurant is made of old wood, and inside, there are three 4-seater tables, two 4-person tables in a raised area, and a 4-seat counter in front of the kitchen. The interior is compact and has a Showa-era atmosphere with a lot of wooden elements. The restaurant is not trendy like some modern soba shops. Hachitenan, the restaurant, has several branches in the city, known for its herring soba. Each branch has its unique menu. There were 3 customers before me and 2 after me, with an older average age among the customers. I ordered the duck soba, as the herring soba was not available during the summer at this branch. The soba was served promptly after an 8-minute wait. The duck soba was made with Sosaku soba, featuring a beautiful color and a good aroma. The soba had a clean taste, perfectly cooked, and well-drained. The duck broth was hot and flavorful, not too salty but with a good umami taste that complemented the soba well. It cost 900 yen, which was reasonable for the quality. My companion ordered the vegetable tempura soba, which was also made with the same soba. The soba broth had a good balance of dashi and umami, not overly strong but flavorful. The soy sauce was well-rounded and not overly sweet. The vegetable tempura included eggplant, bell pepper, shiso leaf, and seaweed, with a generous portion for 700 yen. The soba water was slightly viscous with a good depth of flavor. The prices at this restaurant were more affordable compared to other soba places in the central area. I heard that this restaurant has been serving customers for 31 years, beloved by the local community. I hope they continue to maintain their delicious food and reasonable prices. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Hachitenan is a soba restaurant near my parents' house, so I have been going there often since I was young. After seeing a review from someone who ate too much and gained weight, I realized that I had never left a review before. Although there are many soba restaurants in Nishino, Hachitenan is my favorite place for more soba noodles. Plus, it's very reasonably priced! I usually order the Tenan seiro. The shrimp and green pepper tempura with green onions that come with it for 800 yen is a great deal. It's a down-to-earth soba restaurant. Soba should be down-to-earth, right? I'm not a big fan of snooty soba restaurants. It's my go-to soba restaurant as always.

Located along Kitichojiri Street, Hattenan is a casual soba restaurant where you can easily drop by. Although Hattenan is known for its Nishin Soba, I personally prefer the Tempura Soba in hot weather and the Gomoku Soba in cold weather. The Vegetable Tempura Soba is perfect for those who are not fond of shrimp tempura, as it features delicious seasonal vegetables. The Gomoku Soba is filled with various ingredients, making it a satisfying choice when you're feeling a bit hungry. While the Tempura Soba may cost over 1000 yen, most items are priced around 1000 yen, making it wallet-friendly. For a little indulgence, I also enjoy ordering the Tempura Assortment along with soba. A few years ago, the restaurant had to temporarily close due to health reasons, but I'm glad to see them back in business. Wishing the staff good health and continued success in the future.
