On August 26, 2020, after leaving Mifune for the first time, we decided to visit a restaurant that Tom was interested in. Before that, we walked in front of a popular restaurant in Iwamizawa that has been rumored to be closed since the coronavirus outbreak. The entrance was open! We went inside and asked the lady if they were open, and she confirmed that they were only open for customers with reservations. So, we made a reservation for an hour later on the spot (lol). Then we headed to the restaurant we originally planned to visit, a traditional house bar called "Shuri." Surprisingly, even though we have walked past this place many times, we had never noticed it before (^^;) The interior of the bar was quite chic, and they had a wide variety of drinks and a great all-you-can-drink option at a reasonable price! I couldn't believe how affordable it was! Since we were already full and had a reservation at the next place, we just ordered some drinks. I tried the sweet potato shochu, and it was delicious. If they offer all-you-can-drink at this price, it's definitely worth it! They also served some light snacks, which added to our satisfaction. After looking into it more, the food menu seemed quite tasty as well, so it seems like a good place for a first round too. Thanks to Tom, we discovered another great restaurant! It was delicious!! Welcome.---------- August 2020 ----------In the central area of Iwamizawa, it's surprising to find that it's still 29°C near 6 pm, as indicated by the outdoor sign. Climbing up the steep stairs, you'll find a place with interior decor that girls would like, featuring a layout renovated from an old folk house. It seems like this place has been open for about 4 years, but it's a somewhat hidden spot. There's no cover charge, and the drinks are a bit on the expensive side, but their homemade Moscow Mule is delicious. It has a charming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer, and it's a great environment to sit at the counter and have a chat with the friendly staff. It's the kind of place where you'd want to spend time talking with friends, and it turns out that some acquaintances were there as well.

Tom visited this place and was amazed to find such a wonderful shop in the city. The stairs are narrow and steep, so be careful if you feel dizzy! The place is very stylish and has a wide variety of drinks. I don't drink beer or highballs, so it's hard to find a place with only those options. They also offer all-you-can-drink, so I want to keep coming back here. The food menu is hard to read because it's all in small letters, so it would be better if there were pictures to make it easier to order, especially when you're tipsy. I only had one drink this time, but it was a bit lonely. I tried the pomegranate vinegar sour, which felt very girly. Thank you for the meal!

The second place I went to had a shot of Harper 12 year whiskey. The atmosphere made me feel like I wanted to drink bourbon. Everyone ordered different things without coordinating. We talked non-stop and ended up not ordering the cheese platter we were talking about. In the end, it was less than ¥700 per person. Not because it was cheap, but I'm sorry to the staff for our behavior. However, it was a very atmospheric place and I would like to come back again. It seems like a place where you can drink for cheap, even if you don't drink like we did. They also had cheap drinks that everyone praised. Thank you for the meal.

There are many types of alcohol but few food options, so it might be difficult to use for a first party.
