I tried the rich miso ramen for 850 yen. I didn't have high expectations when I saw the name Goro along the national highway in Furano, but there weren't many other options around. The restaurant was not very spacious, and it seemed like they were struggling to keep up with cleaning. They didn't even guide us to our seats, and customers who bought their meal tickets were left standing and waiting without any assistance. Can't they at least say a few words like "please wait"? The ramen was average. It had plenty of oil, but the soup, while sweet, didn't have that rich and thick taste.

2023♡♡64th Cup 7/17 Evening Thick Goro Miso Ramen Next to Yamaoka family (laughs) Flano Marche Every time I go, I've been curious about Goro's ramen. I love ramen, so whenever I go out, I feel like eating ramen. It's hot, but the icy cold air conditioning is the best! It seems crowded, so they don't come to take orders quickly (laughs). I'm not in a hurry, so it's fine. There was something Jiro-like on the menu, but I didn't know what the noodles were like, so I didn't order it. The order didn't take long to come out, oh, it's just delicious. The taste of the soup on the first bite feels familiar, like I've had it before. The chashu is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bowl with the piglet is cute. Thank you for the meal ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Unfortunately, Rule Rule was sold out, so I went to my second choice. I tried the rich Goro ramen with miso in a large serving. First, the soup was rich and sweet with a white miso base, very delicious. The noodles were the familiar Sapporo curly type. The char siu was also delicious, a tender pork belly type. Another satisfying meal today, thank you!

I visited a Hokkaido food event at a department store in Shizuoka. There was only a ramen shop where you could eat in, so I decided to try it. I ordered the miso butter corn ramen. To my surprise, it was delicious. It exceeded my expectations.

Negi Gorou Miso Ramen for 900 yen. Took a drive to Furano. Found a restaurant with the same name as "From the Northern Country" so decided to try it. Not sure about the connection with the TV show, but it's just a regular ramen shop. Nothing special, nothing bad. The ramen is decent. Hopefully, the name of the restaurant won't affect its reputation.

I decided to go on a location tour in Furano and had lunch at a famous ramen shop recommended by the owner. At first, I was hesitant about the name "Furano Goro", but when I tried it, it was delicious. It was a calm and delicious taste that defied the preconceptions of dining in tourist areas.

I revisited "Furano Goroh Ramen" that I had visited once before when I received a job in Furano. I bought a miso ramen for 750 yen and a half-fried rice for 420 yen, and waited for my food at a table separated by an acrylic board. The noodles were not from Asahikawa but from Sapporo, with a strong traditional flavor, and surprisingly the fried rice was lightly seasoned, which balanced the meal nicely. The staff, consisting of two women, seemed to be struggling with the service as it took about 20 minutes from ordering to serving. Although the ramen and fried rice were delicious, I felt that it might not be worth traveling all the way from Sapporo to Furano just for this. Overall, it was a decent meal.

After visiting Tokachidake and enjoying the Suipu Onsen, we couldn't resist our hunger on the way to Sapporo. We decided to stop at Furano and let our friend choose the restaurant. The name of the restaurant is Goro-san in Furano. Is it related to the drama "Kita no Kuni Kara"? No, it seems not according to the internet. They say the gyoza is delicious, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was quiet with few customers, but the sign outside was brightly lit. Inside, there was a ticket machine for ordering. We ordered the "Kotteri Goro" in soy and miso flavors, gyoza, and a small bowl of rice. The Kotteri ramen had a rich flavor from the back fat, but we wished for a bit more depth in the soup. The gyoza was delicious and served with a smile. There were posters of the drama "Kita no Kuni Kara" on the walls, which made us wonder if there was a connection to Furano. On the tables, there were old-fashioned fortune-telling cards, which we rarely see in Sapporo. It was a nostalgic touch. We wondered about the "Char Goro" on the menu. It was a mystery that we left unsolved as we headed back to Sapporo. It was a delicious meal. Thank you!

Located along Route 237, this restaurant stands out during the day and night with its eye-catching exterior. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try. I first selected the "Rich and Thick Kotteri Goro Miso" for ¥800 and the "Gyoza" for ¥350 from the ticket machine. After about 10 minutes, the rich miso ramen was served, with a thick layer of clear fat floating on the soup. The toppings included white negi, chashu, and kikurage, giving it a fairly typical appearance. Surprisingly, there was more fat than expected. The noodles were medium-thick curly yellow noodles, which looked like they would be smooth to eat. The soup was not too rich or too salty, just right. The chashu was tender and delicious. The gyoza arrived, and its appearance was interesting (laughs). It was all yellow overall. It was shiny with the baked oil coating. I ate it with the provided sauce. The gyoza seemed like a mix of leek gyoza, with the skin and filling completely separate like a bell. There were many empty spaces, and the filling freely moved around inside. I took a bite, and half of it fell off as I bit into it. I wished there was chili oil, but they didn't have it, so I used the chili flakes provided on the table. They saved the day. The restaurant is entirely non-smoking, which was the best service. Water and barley tea were self-service, and I chose barley tea, although it was a bit weak. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Near Furano Marche, there is a new ramen shop called "Furano Goro Ramen." The names Furano and Goro might make people who have watched the drama think, "Oh, I see, it's a touristy naming, right?" Inside the shop, there is no typical drama-like background music playing. I had a regular soy sauce ramen. Since it's Furano, I thought the noodles might be the low-water type from Asahikawa, but they were actually the yellow curly noodles from Sapporo. The soup seemed to be a mix of Sapporo and Asahikawa soy sauce, leaning towards Sapporo. It was Sapporo ramen eaten in Furano. It was not too rich, not too light, not too salty. It was just right. It's been a while since I finished all the soup. Families with children were eating ramen in the shop. The children were not rushed to finish their ramen while eating. I think this ramen shop has nothing to do with the drama. Thank you for the meal.

It seems that a new restaurant has opened in the middle of a field in Furano. Based on the photos, my expectations are low, but I'll give it a try. Oh no, I'm lost, there are no landmarks in sight and I don't have a GPS. I have plans in the afternoon, so I'll just give up. As I drive along Route 38, I spot a ramen shop. "Furano Gorou Ramen." Hmm, I don't have high hopes based on the appearance of the shop, but I'll go in. I hope they have a ginger-flavored ramen...but they don't. Maybe I'll go for the "rich and thick" option. Overall, the ramen is pretty average with a tonkotsu broth heavy on artificial flavoring. The noodles are similar to Nishiyama Seimen. It's passable, but nothing special, just a taste you can find anywhere.

In the latter half of May, my wife and I took our first trip to Hokkaido. Hokkaido is known for its seafood, potatoes, and ramen, but on the third day, we decided to extend our trip to Furano. We realized we hadn't tried ramen yet, so we searched for a ramen shop and found two options side by side: "Ramen Yamaokay" and "Goro Ramen." We couldn't decide, so we chose based on the number of cars in the parking lot - Yamaokay had 0 cars, while Goro had 1. We went with Goro (even though it was almost 2 pm). I'm not usually a fan of miso ramen, but since we were in Hokkaido, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the "rich miso ramen" and when I tried it, I thought, "Wow, this miso ramen is delicious!" It became a great memory of our Hokkaido trip!

It was around the summer of 2018, I think. I went to try out the new Goro Ramen. I didn't see any recommendations, but the thick miso ramen was at the top of the ticket machine, so I decided to go with that. I bought the ticket and waited at the counter. There is free Wi-Fi, but I couldn't find the password... until I saw it written on the back of the entrance door. It was convenient to pass the time by surfing the internet. And then, the thick miso ramen arrived quite quickly. The amount of oil in it was... incredible. It truly lived up to its name of being thick. I started eating it. It seemed to have a soup base of seafood and pork bone, similar to Sapporo ramen. The taste was not bad, but there was just too much oil... It made the ramen heavy. I wonder if it was like this the first time I came here? It's a bit strange. It might be good for those who like a lot of oil in their ramen, like in the house style ramen. If I go again, I think I'll try the regular ramen. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by on my way back from Furano Ski Resort. I had toppings added, and it was delicious, maybe because I was a bit tired. I would like to go there again if I visit Furano.
