On Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 11:25, despite the hot weather, my family of four, including my son who loves ramen and my kindergarten daughter, went to a restaurant. I had been curious about the "Cold Ryumen" for three years, so I decided to order it, thinking that if we ordered three dishes and shared, everyone could enjoy their favorite. My son, who respects the ramen and miso soup at this place, was considering the set meal and was undecided, but when my wife mentioned "White Ryumen," he immediately agreed. Then my wife asked about the "Mixed Ryumen," which she had also been interested in, and I suggested the miso as well, so she decided right away. Despite it being a bit crowded before noon (as expected for a popular restaurant), we waited a little longer than usual and were served. First, the Mixed Ryumen for 650 yen (miso) was outstanding. It had a subtle garlic flavor and a rich taste, possibly due to the finely ground sesame seeds. I found myself hooked on the loop of "taking one bite and immediately wanting another." The White Ryumen for 650 yen (salt) was also delicious, as expected. The refreshing chicken broth with a gentle vegetable topping in salt base was superb, and the overall lightness was complemented by a deep flavor. The Cold Ryumen for 650 yen was my first time trying it. It had shredded fried tofu, boiled shredded cabbage, and chicken strips. You mix it well before eating. The first bite was delicious, not as cold as I had imagined. The noodles were a bit warm, which was a strange but not unpleasant sensation. The sauce was sweet and savory, with a taste I had never experienced before. My wife said, "I was expecting cold noodles, but this is not like abura soba!" I was puzzled as I had never tried abura soba before. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
