Asahikawa Airport, inside the food court "Soraichi," there is a shop called "Asahito." I have used this food court a few times, but I noticed that this shop at the back has its own seating area. Of course, you can also sit at the food court tables. I was curious because I saw their commercial on TV, so I decided to stop by. You buy a food ticket at the ticket machine, and then you are given a buzzer. When you eat at the dedicated seating area, the system is the same as other shops in "Soraichi." I was interested in their homemade sauce Genghis Khan, but I ordered the "Beef Harami Cut Steak" (1,800 yen) and the "A Set" (rice and soup, 450 yen). You can purchase a food ticket labeled "Beef Harami Cut A Set" (2,250 yen) for both items. I handed the food ticket to the staff, and my order was ready in about 7-8 minutes. The beef harami cut steak was served on a hot iron plate. It came with bean sprouts and a limited-time offer of asparagus. The meat was quite tender, didn't become tough when cooked, had a good amount of fat, and you could tell that good quality meat was used. It was delicious and satisfying, but a bit more expensive than eating in the city... perhaps it's the airport price?

For dinner before heading home, I chose to eat at the teppanyaki restaurant "Asato" in the Sorachi food court at Asahikawa Airport. I ordered the C set which included "Genghis Khan with homemade sauce," rice, and a draft beer. The Genghis Khan had little odor and the draft beer was delicious, leaving me satisfied.

I returned the rental car first so I could have a meal at the airport. I went to a corner of the food court on the second floor of the airport and ordered the special pork chop grilled set for 1800 yen. The pork chop is a specialty of Asahikawa, made from grilled pork shoulder loin with a special sauce. It tasted similar to tonkatsu. The set came with two asparagus spears instead of the usual one, which was a nice bonus. I wish there was a bit more meat, but overall, it was satisfying for an airport meal.

Final flight from Asahikawa Airport to Haneda. Visited for dinner before boarding. Ordered Pork Chop Yaki for 1,300 yen and added Set A (rice + soup) for 450 yen, total 1,750 yen. Asahito-san's teppanyaki is excellent, especially the quality of the meat! And this time, for a limited period, it comes with a Hokkaido-grown asparagus! As I mentioned before, it's rare to find teppanyaki of this level at an airport restaurant for this price. *Asahikawa's "Pork Chop" is not ketchup-flavored. It's more like teriyaki-style grilled chicken. Please don't say it tastes different. This is Asahikawa's "Pork Chop."

Specialty dish! Special pork chop grill from Asahikawa. This dish features a rare "kamikomi pork" shoulder loin with rich marbling and a special soy sauce marinade. The flavorful seasoning goes perfectly with rice, and it's a must-have with beer if you're not driving! Price: ¥1,300 (tax included)

Having dinner at Asahikawa Airport. My son and I went to Teppanyaki Asahito. We shared the grilled Hokkaido beef hormone and pork chop. My son really liked the sweet pork chop seasoning. I still prefer the hormone. The hormone is reasonably priced, which is good. And being able to order items separately is helpful for reducing carbs.

After arriving at Asahikawa Airport, we had dinner at the food court. My son ordered the usual Asahito's Genghis Khan for 1500 yen, which is a bit pricey, but it was convenient to have a single item menu. I had the leftover vegetables from my children, which was mostly bean sprouts. It was my first time trying the Genghis Khan here, and it was okay. The hormone (offal) here has better value for money and is delicious, so I would recommend it.

I enjoyed delicious Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) at a restaurant in the food court area inside Asahikawa Airport. The bean sprouts and meat were both tasty. It's great to have this option at the airport. I'm a bit greedy, so I want to savor the flavors of Hokkaido until the very end. The dish is easy to eat with no strong flavors.

I had the "Do-san beef hormone grill set" for 1,350 yen! It's a teppanyaki restaurant located at the far end of the food court Sorai-chi. I enjoyed it with guests from Tokyo. While Asahikawa is known for its ramen, its salted hormone is also famous. That's why we decided to try the hormone grill set. The A set comes with rice and soup, making it the most popular choice. The hormone was tender with a delicious salty flavor that went well with rice. Personally, I prefer a bit of char on it, so I'll ask for that next time. When eaten with bean sprouts, the crispy texture and savory saltiness of the hormone create a perfect combination. Adding the "green chili miso" sauce gives it a spicy kick that spicy food lovers will enjoy. The portion size and taste were just right, leaving us satisfied.

I used it on a weekday (Tuesday) before noon. It was a slightly early lunch. The visual and sound of the teppan were very good, making the food taste even better. I was very happy with the abundance of vegetables. The seasoning also made the rice go down smoothly! The service felt relatively quick, and although I was unsure about various options in the food court, overall I thought it was a good choice to go to this restaurant!

Had dinner at the airport food court. Ordered the hormone mix and beer that was sold out yesterday. It's not particularly delicious, but it's decent and I like that you can order it separately. It cost 1000 yen, which is more expensive than last time, but it seems like there was more hormone this time.

I ordered the popular No. 1 menu item, the "Special Pork Chop Grill" set (with rice and soup). The sizzling hot teppan plate was making a juicy sound. The meat was very tender, and when eaten with the vegetables, the crunchy bean sprouts were delicious. I finished it in no time!

On the third day of my business trip to Hokkaido in April 2022, I had dinner at Asahikawa Airport. Since I had some time before my flight, I headed to the food court. I wanted to have a beer and some snacks after work, so I was happy to find a suitable place. I ordered the "Hokkaido Beef Hormone Yaki B Set" for 1,350 yen, which came with classic draft beer. The dish included hormone grilled on a hot plate with bean sprouts. I took a break after placing my order to buy a canned beer from the shop because I felt one glass wouldn't be enough, and the draft beer at the restaurant was expensive. By the time I returned, the hormone dish was ready, and even though the draft beer had lost some of its foam, the hormone was still hot. The hormone was well-seasoned with salt and pepper, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite. I needed a 500ml classic beer to accompany it, and I chose the seasonal green canned beer to enjoy with the crispy bean sprouts. There was a description of this restaurant on the food court wall, and I wondered if it was an original store at the airport rather than a chain. The hormone dish helped quench my thirst before the flight.

There is a beautiful food court inside Asahikawa Airport, and there is a shop in the back where the sound of grilling stands out. I ordered the Genghis Khan set. The lamb meat was tender, flavorful, and had a strong lamb aroma, making it delicious. It was served on a hot plate, so it remained hot until the end, giving it a fragrant taste. The vegetables were also delicious, coated with sauce. There was also a dipping sauce for those who prefer a stronger flavor (although I personally didn't need it to enjoy the meal).

Asato, a teppanyaki restaurant located in the food court "Soraichi" on the 2nd floor of Asahikawa Airport. I visited Asahikawa for work after two weeks and decided to have lunch at Asato upon arrival. Last time I had ramen here, so this time I didn't hesitate to go for the Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). I purchased a ticket from the machine and waited to be called. I ordered the "Genghis Khan with homemade sauce" for ¥1200. I opted for Set A which came with rice and soup for a total of ¥1550. The food was sizzling hot and delicious, perfect to enjoy while looking at the snowy scenery. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I arrived at the airport 1.5 hours before my flight and had dinner at the food court. The curry place I was aiming for was already closed, so I ended up at a teppanyaki restaurant called Asahito, where I had grilled Hokkaido beef hormone and beer. This is the best combination! Asahikawa is famous for its hormone dishes, and I love hormone, so it's great to have a restaurant like this at the airport. The hormone was reasonably priced at 800 yen. There were plenty of vegetables, which was nice, but the amount of hormone was a bit small. Well, considering the price, I guess it's understandable. The taste was good.

Located in the food court on the 2nd floor of Asahikawa Airport, this teppanyaki restaurant is where I ordered the A set of cheeseburgers made with Hokkaido beef from the ticket machine. After a while, a sizzling hot teppanyaki was ready. The hamburger was soft and had a hint of cumin that floated in my mouth. I felt like adding black pepper, but when I alternated between eating it with crunchy bean sprouts, it harmonized well. It's a shame that the restaurant on the 3rd floor is gone.

The Hokkaido beef juicy burger with rice set and wine hamburger are both Japanese-style spicy and delicious! The Furano wine I tried for the first time was spicy and paired perfectly with the hamburger. I was considering ramen, but choosing this was definitely the right decision! It's the perfect way to end a Hokkaido trip or business trip!

This is the second installment of the food court on the 2nd floor of Asahikawa Airport. All the restaurants at Asahikawa Airport, except for the Genghis Khan on the 3rd floor, are concentrated in the food court. I decided to try this shop that caught my eye last time. I ordered the Hokkaido beef hormone grill set (1150 yen). All teppanyaki dishes, including hormone grills, are cooked after ordering, so there is a 15-20 minute wait. So, I started with a set of beer. The beer has a good foam, but of course, one glass is not enough to last until the grill is ready ^^ The main hormone grill uses the large intestine and geara parts of Hokkaido beef. It is cooked slowly, so there is no unpleasant smell, and when eaten with vegetables, it is truly a teppanyaki style. The taste is quite mild, so a separate dish of special green chili pepper is provided. However, the spiciness is mild. The portion is not that large, so it may be a good amount to satisfy a small hunger. (To be precise, it is enough for a sake accompaniment) I also ordered a bottle of Oyukinozou (550 yen). While waiting for the hormone grill to be ready, I paired it with sake. At 550 yen per bottle, it is a reasonable price for a food court.
