Orangewolf
January 2nd. From Wakkanai City to Sorachi heading south. Along the way, there were no restaurants open for lunch, even my favorite convenience store shelves were empty today. I found out that the pachinko parlor I visited in Wakkanai on New Year's Eve also has a dining area in Sapporo, so I decided to have lunch there today. It may seem like I'm on a streak of eating at pachinko parlors, but during the New Year holidays, finding a place that is open and not crowded is precious! In Sapporo, the dining area is closer to Takikawa Station than Sapporo Station. It's a snowy area, but unlike the Wakkanai store, there is no multi-level parking lot. I wasn't too fond of the idea of snow falling on my car (^_^;)
I entered the store and checked the menu on the ticket machine. They offered ramen, soba, udon, set meals, curry, and rice bowls, similar to the Wakkanai store. You could still order katsu curry, but the katsudon was not available. Maybe they ran out of eggs? (laughs) I was tempted by the chicken nanban set meal that they didn't have in Wakkanai, but considering my plans for the day, I decided to go with the shoyu ramen. My companion chose the miso ramen. There were 8 seats available. Inside the counter, there was a calendar from Nishiyama Seimen, which made me feel at ease. Since we were the only customers, our ramen arrived in just a few minutes. The toppings included seaweed, menma, boiled egg, and chashu. The ramen had a gentle, Japanese-style broth with less oil, and the seaweed complemented it well. The medium-thick curly noodles from Nishiyama Seimen were chewy and delicious. The boiled egg was huge, maybe it was a size LL... The chashu was thick, and the portion of noodles was generous, all for only 650 yen, which was a great deal. The miso ramen came with bean sprouts and ground meat. It also had a gentle broth, but my companion didn't seem to enjoy it as much. It's like a gamble when visiting a new place, so it's okay if it doesn't suit your taste, especially at a pachinko parlor... I will definitely revisit during the Bon and New Year holidays. Thank you for the meal!
