The Ishikari Burger is delicious with sautéed octopus inside!

At Ishikari Shinko Port, there are not many places to eat during lunchtime. I was unsure where to go, but then my senior colleague suggested a dining area attached to an off-track betting facility for bicycle and boat races. I had been there before and didn't have a good impression, but my senior said it had improved, so I decided to give it another try. The daily lunch specials looked more appealing, and there was a male chef now. I ordered the salmon and salmon roe parent and child rice bowl with soba noodles set. The portion was generous, with sliced salmon, salmon flakes, salmon roe, scrambled eggs, and seaweed on top of rice. The rice was not vinegared, which was a bit disappointing. The salmon roe was well-seasoned, but the skins were tough. The salmon flakes seemed homemade and tasted delicious. The soba noodles were served warm with tempura flakes and green onions. Overall, the food had improved, and I would consider visiting again, although the price for a pork cutlet rice bowl still seems high at 900 yen.

A small lunch area located in Satellite Ishikari. It is mainly standing eating, but there are a few chairs available. It may take a bit of time for the food to come out when it's crowded, but just relax and watch the TV broadcast (lol). The tonkatsu set meal... the meat is tender and thin, but tasty. It is served freshly fried, so it's crispy and good! Unfortunately, the fried dumplings were cold. The fried chicken bowl with soba... the fried chicken was freshly fried and the coating was thin, so it was delicious. The sauce is sweet and savory. Strangely, the rice was cold. A bit disappointing. The soba broth seemed to have a strong kelp flavor. The soy sauce is on the darker side, but not as strong as expected. I think it's lighter compared to Kanto style. The daily specials A and B have decent value. I would like to try other varieties next time.

I had the afternoon off so I decided to take a little drive to Satellite Ishikari. At the end of last year, a horse racing off-track betting area was added to the bicycle race off-track betting area. While watching bicycle races, you can also bet on ban'ei or Hokkaido horse racing. The main screen shows live coverage of bicycle races, and there are five betting machines for horse racing at the back. The main attraction today is the food at "Kachidokoro," a restaurant located inside the venue. It's rare to find dining options nearby, so this restaurant is a welcome addition. I ordered a soy sauce ramen for ¥600, and surprisingly, it looked presentable and tasted decent. The soup had ground meat for flavor, and the menma topping was tasty and plentiful. The chashu was a bit ham-like, but overall, the dish was better than what I've had at Sapporo Racecourse. It's likely that the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the cook contribute to the satisfying taste. If the price was ¥500, I would have rated it even higher.

I went to have lunch near Ishikari Shinko for work, and the boss was also joining, so I thought he would treat us. When we arrived at the place, it was Ishikari Satellite. I walked past the people engrossed in the newspaper and headed inside. I chose today's meal from the ticket vending machine. I found a pork cutlet bowl, but it was priced at 900 yen. I wondered if it was because of the quality of ingredients or the quantity. However, it felt awkward to let the boss pay. It's a rare treat, so it should be fine. I handed the meal ticket to the lady and waited. After a while, I was called to pick up the meal. The pork cutlet bowl, miso soup, and pickles were on the tray. The portion of the pork cutlet bowl was decent, so I started eating. The seasoning was light, the egg was slightly overcooked, and the pork cutlet was not juicy but rather tough. I didn't have high expectations, but it was disappointing. I heard from a senior later that it used to be much cheaper. There may be reasons for the price increase, but keeping the same content while significantly raising the price is not ideal. Maybe it's good for a superstitious meal, but that's about it. Thank you for the meal.
