A Canadian-owned shop in Canada specializing in maple syrup. Maple whiskey seems to be quite a rare whiskey. I'm not much of a drinker, so I didn't go for it as it was over 9000 yen. I'd like to try a small bottle that costs 2,000 to 3,000 yen. You can also sample the maple syrup. The top grade "Light" catches your eye, but the Dark was surprisingly delicious. Canadians seem to use them properly. It's a shop where you can learn such knowledge.

I searched for apple pie and found this shop! I had come here before to try the maple soft serve, but I didn't know they also had maple apple pie! The apple pie was a simple type with only maple-flavored stewed apples, no raisins or custard. The apples were cooked in maple syrup, giving them a complex flavor and a slightly nutty taste. It was a very delicious apple pie that I would like to buy again. It was a bit pricey, but it was definitely my kind of apple pie! I was also interested in the apple pie parfait, but at 880 yen, I was already quite full, so maybe next time! Thank you for the meal!

I tried cycling for about an hour in the scorching heat with a high of 33 degrees. I managed to ride about 10 km before giving up; it was tough! I sought refuge along the old Route 5 and found the maple syrup specialty store "GAGNON," named after the owner, Mark Gagnon. The store used to be across the road, but has since relocated in 2020. I had visited the previous location a few times, but this was my first time at the new one. Inside, there were neatly arranged bottles of maple syrup and a display case of cakes next to the register. It seemed like they had added a few more food items. I noticed a large black object on the floor, which turned out to be a dog, resting and looking exhausted from the heat. The staff, aside from Mr. Gagnon, was a young woman who took my order for a Maple Soft Serve Ice Cream (in a cone) priced at 540 yen (paid with PayPay). Since it was a takeout item, I enjoyed it on the wooden deck outside. The soft serve was smooth and had a gentle sweetness, just as delicious as before. However, the portion size was not very big, and considering the price, the cost performance was not great. I spotted some delicious-looking cakes, so I plan to come back and try them when it's cooler. Thank you for the meal!

- Maple Soft Serve Ice Cream 540 yen Soft serve ice cream made with maple syrup and maple sugar. It has a light milk fat content, with a crispy texture that gives way to a subtle natural maple flavor. It's a refreshing type of soft serve and quite delicious, but the price is a bit high.

Maple 🍁 I've always been curious about this shop and often pass by the front of the store, but I've never been inside. Finally, I had the chance to visit for the first time! They sell a variety of foods related to maple, including maple syrup, maple-based sweets, granola, and more. On this day, I bought the most popular apple pie and tart from the sweets section, and a hot ginger drink. The apple pie was quite delicious! The hot ginger drink took a while to come out, but when it did, it was served hot and tasty! It was really hot though 😅 There were also items that seemed like they would be appreciated as gifts, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal! 🍁

But, since there's no point in getting upset now, I quickly recovered. "GAGNON" - Why Gagnon? This old man is not very smart. Is "Maple Non-chan" the name of the store? I searched on Tabelog but "Maple Fumblet" didn't come up, and when I searched for "GAGNON" it did. How can that be? It came up as "GAGNON". There was a soft serve ice cream sculpture, so I looked it up. It seemed like a café, but can you just buy soft serve ice cream and leave? I think you can. I only had 440 yen in small change, so I went with it. The interior of the store was stylish, with cakes available, but it didn't really feel like a café. I asked for a "soft serve ice cream" and a friendly woman said, "That will be 540 yen!" My voice didn't come out, but there was a scream in my heart. Was "What?" a scream? It was a scream. 540 yen, not 440 yen. Oh no. Luckily, I could use PayPay. The portion for 540 yen was small. It was definitely not worth the price. It looked like a soft serve, but it was tiny. It was perfect for me, but it should have been 200 yen. It looked like a soft serve, but it was small. It was rich and delicious, like milk. It had been a while since I had such a tasty soft serve. However, even though I have a good nature, I would be angry at paying 540 yen for this size. It melts easily because it's made of milk, and it's very cold and delicious.

I decided to explore a new place and chose "Ganion". I have fond memories of the now-closed Ganion Cafe in Kuwon, which I visited in August two years ago. I was deeply impressed when I tried the maple plate and compared different maple flavors. While they no longer serve meals, they still offer their popular items like maple products, soft serve ice cream, apple pie, and more. They also sell items like bread, cakes, roll cakes, alcohol, curry powder, and more. The Canadian owner seemed to be doing well, which was great to see! This place was even featured on a TV show called "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai", and I remember watching that episode in the cafe. I have tried their waffles and parfaits before, but I had never tried their soft serve ice cream, so I ordered the "Maple Soft Serve Ice Cream (¥540)" and bought the "Maple Donut (¥324)" to go. The soft serve ice cream tasted just like the one used in their parfaits at the Kuwon cafe. It had a mild milk flavor with a rich maple taste, creating a harmonious and refreshing combination. Although it is a bit pricey, the quality justifies the cost. The donut had a texture similar to pound cake, soft and moist. Compared to the soft serve ice cream, it had a stronger sweetness, with a hint of butter and a smooth maple syrup flavor that spreads in your mouth. It was a delightful experience! My companion also loved it, which made me happy. Although there is currently no seating area for dining in, I hope to visit again someday to try their cakes. I didn't end up buying maple syrup since I don't use it often, but I would love to try their bread next time. Thank you for the delicious treats.

This is a shop along Route 124 in Sapporo that has been featured in the media, including "Matsuko's Mysterious World." For those without a car or tourists who don't rent a car, the best way to get here is by bus. If you take the non-express bus, get off at "Yamanote 1-jodori." If you take the express bus, "Nishi-ku Yakushomae" is a good stop. It's quite far from Koinke Station. I tried the Quebec Tart (500 yen) which looks like a cheesecake but is actually more like a maple syrup mousse cake. The maple syrup flavor is rich and delicious, a specialty of the shop. I also had the cheesecake (500 yen), which is a baked cheesecake tart also using maple syrup. Maybe a bit more cheese flavor would be nice with the strong maple taste. Both cakes were quite filling and had a unique taste that you can only find at this shop. According to their website, the sweets change with the seasons, so I would like to visit again in a different season. I also bought a bottle of Golden maple syrup (250ml for 2160 yen) which was delicious, but maple syrup is still quite expensive. I plan to use it for dishes where I can fully appreciate the taste of maple syrup, like pancakes. Thank you for the meal.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is no medication that suits my rare disease. I was hospitalized for rare disease treatment again in April to May after being hospitalized in September last year and January this year. Your supportive comments were a source of strength for me during my hospitalization. I am deeply grateful. I was discharged in early May, but the test results in late May were not good, and the doctor mentioned the possibility of hospitalization. The tests in June led to a reexamination in July. It seems that I may be hospitalized in July if my condition worsens, but it is likely to be after 2 weeks of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The doctor instructed me to confirm the vaccination schedule, so I contacted Sapporo City, where I was informed that people aged 65 to 74 will receive their vaccination by the end of February next year, slightly earlier than previously stated. Those under 64 with underlying conditions are prioritized, and vaccination vouchers have been sent to those with underlying conditions since July. Prime Minister Suga stated that vaccinations for those 65 and older will be completed by July this year, but both the first and second dose vaccination rates in Hokkaido are the lowest in the country. Hokkaido has the lowest vaccination rate in the country. As a result, the number of deaths in Hokkaido accounts for 30-40% of the national daily death toll, surpassing Tokyo. Despite this, Olympic marathon events will be held in Sapporo. While vaccination for younger individuals is progressing in Tokyo, it is not progressing for the elderly in Sapporo. What could be the cause of this disparity? Thank you for your continued support. [July 2021] "Ganion" is a shop owned by Ganion, who was born and raised in Canada. It is a specialty store for maple syrup, directly imported from his home country of Canada. They also sell bread and cakes made with imported maple syrup. The shop opened in the Nishi-ku 24-ken area in 2007. In 2017, they relocated to the Kuwanon area in Chuo-ku. While I was hospitalized in September 2020, they relocated to the Yamate area in Nishi-ku. The original location and the current location in the Yamate area are very close to each other. It felt like returning to the original location. I visited with my usual companion after the relocation. The shop is located in the Yamate area of Nishi-ku, along North 5th Street and Teine Street. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. I parked my car in the parking space next to the shop. There were 3 customers in front and 2 customers behind me. The two customers in front were enjoying maple soft serve on the terrace next to the shop. The "Maple Parfait" in the cafe space was very popular in the previous two shops. Due to the pandemic, there was no cafe space inside, and products were displayed on tables. There were signs for "Maple Soft Serve" and "Limited to 20 servings per day - Mini Maple Parfait." I have a bad habit of being extremely weak to the word "limited." I ordered the "Limited to 20 servings per day - Mini Maple Parfait" as there were still servings available. They asked if I wanted it in a cup or cone, and I chose a cup. After a few minutes of waiting, my usual companion received it. It was a warm day, and since there were no more customers on the terrace, we decided to enjoy it there. **Limited to 20 servings per day - Mini Maple Parfait** The base is maple syrup-flavored soft serve, which is smooth and cold with a pleasant texture. The slightly restrained sweetness enhances the deliciousness of the maple syrup. It's a mini parfait that allows you to enjoy maple syrup. At the bottom of the cup is granola, followed by a transparent maple syrup jelly. On top of the maple jelly is a maple syrup-flavored sponge cake, and on top of the sponge cake is maple soft serve. The parfait is topped with maple granola. Price: 750 yen (tax included) The "Limited to 20 servings per day - Mini Maple Parfait" is mini-sized but very enjoyable.

Away from the main street, in a slightly different residential area, there is a stylish shop with a unique atmosphere. The dog figurines welcome you as you enter, adding to the antique and chic vibe of the interior. I purchased Orange and Fig (¥500), Maple Financier (¥324), Chocolate Brownie (¥1404), Quebec Tart (¥500), Maple Butter Sandwich (¥1026), and Apple Pie (¥500). Even though I spent a lot of money, my happiness increased. Now, let's dig in! The Apple Pie looks like a purse, and even though it wasn't freshly made, it still had a nice buttery taste with slightly crunchy apples. Next, the Maple Financier was cute and maple-shaped, moist in the center with a delicious maple flavor. The Maple Butter Sandwich had three layers of butter cream and a hint of maple, with a crunchy outer layer made of oats and almonds. The Orange and Fig Pound Cake was moist and tasty, with a burst of flavor from the dried fruits. The Quebec Tart was the most maple-flavored, with a generous amount of cream on top. The Chocolate Brownie came in a set of three, each with a different flavor - cocoa, orange, and berry. The brownies were smooth and had a perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. Overall, these maple-themed treats from the specialty shop were delicious.

The cafe that used to be in the mulberry orchard has moved to Kinne. They have a variety of maple syrups. The cafe was my favorite. The lunch was also good. The flat-coated retriever with a black coat is the mascot dog. It came over for a pet and then went back to its owner. It has a very gentle personality, and I wanted to pet it more. The dark deep maple syrup adds an accent to the dishes. Mustard seeds and this dark syrup are simmered together to make a sauce for simmered pork. It's quite delicious. Let's go back to try it again and see the mascot dog. 😊

Maple syrup specialty store from the owner's home country, Canada. They offer three types of maple syrup, each with different levels of richness depending on the harvest season. It's recommended to choose based on your intended use, but if you're unsure, you can try samples. The most expensive one was the first one I tried, which was smooth, soft, and delicious, so I chose that one. They also sell weekend-only maple sugar bread and other items like spices. They have a wide variety of products like liqueur, peanut butter, and even dog food and treats from New Zealand and Germany. The showcase also had sweets that I'd like to try next time. They have a great selection of souvenirs that would surely be appreciated. I'll definitely be back to check it out again.

With my family, I visited a maple syrup specialty store. It was such a stylish place, located along Route 5 near Kotoni. The interior of the store was exactly to my liking. There was a big black dog freely roaming around, giving off a foreign vibe. They had so many different types of maple syrup, ranging from around 3,000 yen to just under 10,000 yen. Apparently, the store was featured on a TV show called "The World Unknown to Matsuko" and will also be on Takatoshi Land the following week (already aired). I'm glad we went before it got crowded due to the TV appearances. We bought an apple pie and a cheese tart to go. I especially felt the maple syrup flavor in the tart, but the apple pie was also delicious. I regret not giving in to my desire to pour maple syrup over them before eating. I ended up feeling guilty. They also had maple syrup soft serve ice cream, so I'm looking forward to trying that next time.

I had maple soft serve at Ganyon, which recently relocated and reopened. The soft serve had a rich maple flavor that was surprisingly refreshing. It was priced at 500 yen, which seemed a bit high, but maybe that's just the cost of using real maple. I'm curious about the cakes in the display case as well. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by during my walk. It's a specialty shop for maple syrup. It just opened recently. They have syrup and Western sweets. Maple Catalana Caramel is a dessert that allows you to enjoy the slight bitterness of caramel and the subtle sweetness of maple. The Apple Pie has the sweetness and slight bitterness of apples. The crust is moist. It's a delicious apple pie when chilled. The Tart Sucré Noisette is characterized by its rich maple syrup flavor. It was a bit too rich for me. I think it would be preferred by those who like maple syrup. It's nice to have sweets occasionally for a change of mood. I enjoyed it! Thank you for the meal.

On a certain holiday, I stumbled upon a shop in Hokkaido that I hope can somehow continue to survive. It used to be located across the street, but has now newly opened at this location in Nishi-ku, Kotoni. When you enter the shop, you'll notice it is more spacious than the previous one, with a few tables where you can eat in. There are various maple syrup and sweets on display for sale. I planned to have their signature soft serve ice cream, but unfortunately, it was not available yet since they had just opened. So, I decided to get something I could take away that didn't need refrigeration. I ended up choosing the "Maple Donut (324 yen)", which was a reasonably priced maple-flavored treat. When I opened the bag, a lovely maple aroma wafted out. The donut was moist and rich with butter and maple flavors, sweet with a hint of saltiness, more like a pound cake than a donut. I also got the "Corn Cream Cheese Scone (380 yen)", which was a scone that didn't need refrigeration. It had a crumbly texture typical of scones, with a subtle corn flavor, although I couldn't really taste the cream cheese. The shop used to have another branch in a mulberry orchard, but it has closed down, so I hope they can succeed with this one location. I heard they offer soft serve ice cream year-round, so I'll have to come back for that. Thank you for the meal.

There used to be 24 shops, but they just moved diagonally across the old national highway towards Otaru. Some people still can't find it or claim they are directionally challenged, like Anpon. The cafe near Kuwazon Station closed when they moved. They haven't prepared soft serve ice cream yet and the eat-in area is not yet approved by the health department. However, Totoron noticed the Maple Angle Cake for 630 yen. It's a different approach from the trendy high-end bread, with a subtle maple scent and restrained sweetness. It's not a moist type, so toasting it might be a good idea.
