Today, I visited Ramen Koki at the Washo Market in Kushiro. The ramen was good, but I decided to go all out and ordered the Uni and Ikura Don for 2400 yen. The uni was incredibly sweet and delicious. I also enjoyed the popping texture of the ikura. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This was my first visit this year. There was one customer before me and no one after me. I ordered the scallop tempura set with salt ramen. I really like the soup of the salt ramen here. Plus, the set only costs 900 yen, which is a good deal. Or so I thought. When the food arrived, I was a bit puzzled. I couldn't find any of the scallops (maybe they were baby scallops?) that I saw before. And there were no shrimp either (the menu offers scallop tempura and shrimp tempura). I decided to try the tempura first. But there was nothing inside. I tried to focus on the ramen instead. The soup was still delicious. But isn't it lukewarm? The worst thing in the world is lukewarm ramen and miso soup. The bill came out to 900 yen as expected. Prices are going up these days. Even just the onions must be expensive. And the frying oil and batter too. Maybe they couldn't include the scallops. But I wish they had written some explanation because I was quite shocked.

This is Kushiro... I returned to the station by JR, but I only had about 30 minutes until departure, so I didn't have much time to relax. It was past 1 pm, so I hurriedly headed to "Washo Market." The place I visited was "Ramen Hokki." Despite the name suggesting "ramen," it was inside Washo Market, so the menu ranged from "seafood" to "donburi, Western food, set meals, ramen, zangi, fried foods," and was quite diverse. I sat at the counter seats where there were no other customers, and there were two women working, probably a mother-daughter team. The mother brought me a glass of water. I ordered the "Salt Ramen @ 650" quickly due to lack of time, but I might have preferred something else... The ramen arrived in 6 minutes, with ingredients such as "naruto, menma, chashu, negi, boiled egg." The soup had a mild salt flavor with a weak dashi taste, which I personally didn't mind. The thin noodles typical of Kushiro ramen were cooked just right, with a good firmness and not too soft. Although I don't particularly like thin noodles, I think it's part of the Kushiro culture. The chashu was the traditional firm type that could easily make you want to drink all the soup until the end. I gave up halfway through and paid the bill before leaving the restaurant. The soup was not so delicious that I would exclaim "Delicious!" but it was easy to drink with no strong flavors, making it quite dangerous. I will try the seafood dishes next time. Thank you for the meal.

I was planning to go to a different ramen shop, but I stopped by here due to time constraints. The oyster ramen was delicious. The soup had a rich flavor but was also light. The thin noodles were smooth and slurped up easily. The soup was so good that I even finished my wife's leftover soup.

I went to Kushiro and stopped by at a local ramen shop after finishing my errands. I bought some fish and crab as souvenirs. I had a meal at my brother's family's house, but I'll just have a little snack before heading home. No customers before or after me. I don't usually eat ramen at odd hours. The salt ramen costs 600 yen including tax. When it comes to Kushiro ramen, it's usually a simple dish with ultra-thin curly noodles in soy sauce broth, but I don't really like it. I actually found Maruchan's double ramen more delicious. I was impressed when I first tried Sapporo ramen's miso flavor. I used to only eat miso ramen until recently when Myレビさん recommended that I try salt ramen for a healthier option, and I started to like it. That's how I started to appreciate Kushiro ramen too. The dish arrived in about 8 minutes. It looked exactly like Kushiro ramen! The noodles, the Naruto fish cake, the lard - it's all there! Let's dig in! The ramen is piping hot because of the lard. The noodles are soft and you don't even need to chew much. They disappear quickly. The chashu pork slices were a bit firm, but I enjoyed them. Overall, it was quite delicious. Maybe I wouldn't have thought so in the past, but now I consider it an exquisite bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal. This is my 74th ramen review in 2021.

Welcome. ---------- May 2021 ----------Located about a 5-minute walk from Kushiro Station, the familiar Kazasu Market corner is known for its "Katte Donburi" |o| °д°)ノHello. It seems that there are no tourists, and the dining area is supported by locals. The food is prepared in the hidden kitchen in the back, with a cheerful voice saying "Here we go~♪". The lady at the counter is boiling noodles. I ordered the "Omelette Rice Set", which is a half-and-half of rice and noodles. I chose the small portion of salt ramen. The salt ramen looks oily, but it is light and has a good flavor with a gentle saltiness. The homemade noodles are overcooked, lacking firmness. The chashu is very tough. The omelette rice is not ketchup-based as expected, but has demi-glace sauce, which is quite innovative. Although the rice is still a bit clumpy (why?), it is a unique touch. In these times, it seems like "Katte Donburi" is not available, so many restaurants feel lonely.

I had some free time at Kushiro Station, so I decided to take a stroll around the area. I spotted a market and felt like having something to eat, so I randomly walked in and found a ramen shop. The ramen had a very light salt flavor, and the soup was delicious. The toppings included egg, fish cake, pork slices, and green onions, giving it a simple yet nostalgic taste. The noodles, soup, and toppings all blended together nicely, making it a tasty meal. If I have the chance to visit Kushiro again, I would definitely want to go back to this place.

I thought I came to a recommended seafood restaurant by my friend. I bought a lot of my favorite tuna and ate it at a nearby table. Well, it might not be the best thing to eat in Kushiro, but I like it so it's fine. After that, when I reported to my friend, it turned out to be the restaurant next door...(-_-) The lady there was friendly, and personally, it wasn't bad at all. I recommend it to those who come to Kushiro multiple times.

On October 10, 2020 (Saturday), I visited a restaurant in the Wa-Sho Market that I had been curious about for a while. They offered a special dish of "Beef Tendon Curry" limited to 10 servings per day. I was surprised when the curry arrived - it looked like it was from a retort pouch. I took a bite and realized it really was retort curry, even the beef tendon was from a package. It felt like a rushed dish, especially for the price of 650 yen. Feeling disappointed, I decided to order a Soy Sauce Ramen for 600 yen. The ramen looked like a traditional style with a chicken broth aroma. However, there was nothing outstanding about it. The noodles were thin and soft, typical of Kushiro style. The toppings were average, and the char siu lacked flavor. Overall, the ramen was underwhelming, and I felt that instant ramen would have been more enjoyable. The only consolation was that they reduced the price of the ramen to 500 yen at the end. It was a disappointing experience.

The shop at the back of the local market is famous for its ramen, but this time I tried their katsudon. They offer a choice of vinegar rice or regular rice, and for katsudon, vinegar rice is recommended. I ordered the katsudon and when I returned to the shop, I handed in my chopstick wrapper and got a discount on the crab miso soup.

A ramen shop located in the Kushiro Washo Market. Most of the eateries in this market recommend the "Katte-don" dish. They sell rice for the donburi, so you can buy fresh fish and make your own donburi, similar to Tsukiji Outer Market. Among them, this shop is slightly more popular with locals. The mistake I made was buying a few side dishes and eating them with rice, but ended up with cold side dishes and rice, along with crab soup. The ingredients and freshness were good, but the overall experience was lacking. It would be a nice shop to have near my home.

"Houki" ... is it still around? I came to Kushiro by JR, so I can drink from noon today," said my wife, who was already drinking on the JR train. We arrived in Kushiro, but we have to transfer and go to Akkeshi. My wife said, "There is 1 hour and 15 minutes until the transfer, so let's go to the hotel to drop off our luggage." She suggested, "Since we still have time, let's eat ramen." We hadn't been to "Houki" in the Washo Market, even though we had been trying all the Kushiro ramen shops. I had skipped this place before because I didn't feel like eating in the Washo Market. When I ordered beer, they asked, "Can or draft?" I got two canned beers. I ordered the "Salt Ramen" for 650 yen, tax included. The pricing was very reasonable. I initially thought the shop was run by one lady, but another lady appeared later. They came in just 5 minutes. I was convinced that this was definitely Kushiro ramen. The appearance was somewhat subtle, but the sparkling soup was nice. The noodles were not Kushiro noodles, more like regular noodles, but closer to the average, and very delicious. Why did I skip this place before? This is delicious. The noodles are homemade using Hokkaido wheat, and they are definitely homemade noodles. I have been deceived by homemade noodles many times, but this one is no mistake. The chashu is traditional with distinct lean and fatty parts. I only need half, but it's delicious. The naruto and menma are salt-free. Green onions go well with this soup. The half-cooked egg is delicious. The flavor is not seasoned, the soup is clear with lard floating on top, making it beautiful. It tastes light but has umami and richness. The lard does a good job and it's nice. It's traditional, but I really like it. Even my wife, who usually dislikes Kushiro ramen, said, "It was delicious." So, how much do you think the salt ramen and two canned beers cost? It was 1,200 yen. The ramen was 500 yen as part of the Washo Market day promotion. The beer was 350 yen. Taking the price into account, my wife rated it 3.6. Despite praising it, she didn't rate it high. I would rate it 3.9. So, let's go with 3.9...

I went to Ramen Nagi for the first time! It's my first visit. I traveled from Kushiro Station to get there. It's my second time entering the Washo Market. The opening hours are written at the entrance, starting from 8 a.m. It's been a while since I've been to the Washo Market. But are there fewer open shops now? I noticed some shops were still preparing or had their curtains closed... It's 8:20 a.m. and I found a shop that seemed to be opening soon. How do you pronounce "Ramen Nagi"? I waited for about 3 minutes and was the first customer, haha. They have a popular dish called "Katte Don." I ordered the Katte Set Meal for 500 yen. It includes grilled fish, rice, pickles, and miso soup. You can also bring your own fish (flounder or hokke) from the market next time! I also ordered the Soy Sauce Ramen for 600 yen, tax included. Today is Washo Market Day (1st of every month) and the Soy Sauce and Salt Ramen are only 500 yen for the first 100 customers! Limited offer! They also serve Beef Tendon Curry for 650 yen. The ramen arrived - it looks like a simple homemade ramen. Let's dig in - it's warming and comforting, perfect for this windy day. The flavor is light and you can taste the broth, a traditional soy sauce ramen taste. The noodles are soft, which is their unique feature. The taste is quite mild. The toppings include chashu, egg, bamboo shoots, green onions, and fish cake, all in small portions. The chashu was a bit tough and the bamboo shoots were salty. I need a drink of water. Overall, having morning ramen in Kushiro was a good experience, and the affordable prices were a plus. Thank you, Ramen Nagi!

In the famous Washo Market known for its Kattedon, I noticed a sign that said Soy Sauce and Salt Ramen for 600 yen -> 500 yen. I sat at the visit counter after enjoying a light Kattedon, and decided to order the Soy Sauce Ramen for 500 yen. While I like salt ramen too, my favorite flavor in Kushiro ramen is soy sauce. After a while, my bowl arrived. The clear golden soup had a hint of chicken oil floating on top. The toppings included chashu, menma, half-boiled egg, naruto, and green onions. I took a sip of the soup - delicious! The simple chicken broth soy sauce had a rich chicken oil flavor and a slightly sweet taste. It reminded me of the popular Kushiro ramen shop "Kawamura." The chashu was salted but had a subtle seasoning that soaked up the soup and was tender. The half-boiled egg had a rich yolk. The noodles were thin and smooth, with a good texture. It was light, so it could be good for breakfast too, and at only 500 yen, it was a great deal! Thank you for the meal! (^~^)

Visit date August 25, 2019, 6th stop in the station front strategy series. Takeout sushi at Noriki in Washo Market. Actually, this was the first place I visited in this station front strategy series. Initially, I came to Washo Market to have sushi or seafood bowl, but both places I was aiming for were closed. So, I decided to try this place instead. I had heard from a friend before that the sushi here is recommended. Items purchased: Tuna red meat 400 yen, 5 nigiri 450 yen. The tuna red meat was probably bluefin tuna...? The rice was firm and the vinegar a bit strong. Due to various reasons, I couldn't store it properly until eating, so it didn't look good, but it was quite delicious. 5 nigiri bluefin tuna medium fatty, scallop, salmon, squid, pickled mackerel. The scallop and pickled mackerel were a bit fishy. The toppings were not thin but not thick either. It would have been even more delicious if I had eaten it right away... I regret it. There were many staff members at this shop, but it seemed like their roles were clearly divided, as no one came to help even though there were multiple takeout orders lined up. As an outsider, I don't know the actual situation, but I can't help but think it's okay to keep customers waiting. Since it's a place with many tourists, I hope they work on that aspect more! This concludes Part 1 of the station front strategy series. Will there be a Part 2? Thank you for the meal.

Salt ramen. When it comes to Washo Market, Katsudon is popular, but my sons B and C are not interested and prefer Tarezangi. I decided to go along with them and chose salt ramen. The soup was gentle and light. The noodles were homemade and thin. Surprisingly, it was quite good. It had char siu, egg, menma, and naruto. It seems that Zangi also liked it.
