2023♡♡57th cup on 6/26, afternoon I had the spicy miso and gyoza set. There is a lunch set available until 2 pm. I arrived around 1:30 pm and about half of the tables were already taken. As expected, the spicy miso and gyoza were delicious. Lately, I have been enjoying them with vinegar and pepper. The half rice portion was just right! Thank you for the meal!

It's been over 10 years since I last visited Yamagoya. I remember being impressed by the deliciousness of their ramen when I first tried it. The familiar smell inside the restaurant brings back memories. I ordered the soy sauce negi ramen. The soup was delicious, but the noodles were thick and heavy, like the ones in a house-style ramen, which was a bit too much for me. Maybe it's because I'm getting older. Also, there was a lot of oil in the ramen, which gave me heartburn. Maybe I'll pass on this for a while. When I'm feeling better, I might give Yamagoya another try.

Today, I went to Burger King for lunch, so I didn't have ramen and instead tried the gyoza and fried rice. My son had the spicy miso dipping noodles, which he enjoyed. The dipping noodles were quite good, so I might try them next time. The gyoza was consistently delicious, and the fried rice, although a bit greasy compared to the one in the neighboring town, was moist and tasty. Yesterday, I took a half day off and had the day off with my wife. We decided to have lunch together at Yamagoya, which we hadn't been to in a few years. Of course, it was our first time visiting the renovated Iwamizawa store. By the way, it was my wife's first time at Yamagoya. I didn't realize how crowded it would be at lunchtime. It's really popular. Anyway, a few years ago, I used to eat their soy sauce ramen every week. It was delicious to have it again after a long time. My wife also enjoyed it more than she expected. 2023/3/11 First visit after the renovation《27th visit in 2023》Today, my wife had to work and I had the day off, like our usual Saturdays. I needed to get the oil changed in my car, so I headed to Iwamizawa. After finishing the oil change, it was time for lunch. I had been wanting to go to a restaurant that I hadn't been to since it was renovated and remembered that today. Ramen Yamaokaya Iwamizawa Store It was close to 1 pm, but the parking lot was quite crowded. As soon as I entered, I saw ticket machines placed on both sides, and opening another door led to the interior of the restaurant. I purchased a soy sauce ramen (medium serving) and gyoza and went inside. Although the seats were quite full, there was an available seat at the counter, so I sat down. I handed the food ticket to the staff and requested extra pork fat. Looking around the interior again, it seemed like they had redone the decor. It looked clean, and it seemed like they had reduced the number of table seats and increased the counter seats. The manager seemed unchanged, which was reassuring. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the ramen and gyoza arrived at the same time! It had been a while since I had Yamaokaya soy sauce ramen. It looks delicious! Let's dig in. I took a sip of the soup. Huh!? Let me try another sip. Hmm... it seems quite light. The noodles also... they are the same Yamaokaya noodles, but they don't seem to mix well with the soup. As I continued to eat, the saltiness of the soup was low, and the richness of the broth seemed to have diminished. And even though I asked for extra pork fat, it didn't seem like there was that much. It's delicious, but the taste seems to have changed. The Iwamizawa store had improved its taste with the current manager. This is disappointing. The gyoza was still delicious as always. However, it felt like they had cooled down a bit rather than being freshly cooked, which was a bit disappointing. Despite the renovation, the taste seems to have changed, which is a shame. I finished the soup but left some behind. It's counterproductive for the taste to change after a renovation. I probably won't visit the Yamaokaya in Iwamizawa for a while. 2023♡♡11th bowl 1/29 Evening 2nd time having miso moyashi ramen with my son! We are addicted to this ramen (lol) In the evening, many families with children were there, having a great time. We always love Yamakoya. The staff at Yamakoya were as reliable as ever. Maybe because it was Sunday, there were more staff members. I hope they get used to it quickly. I feel like having some rich and flavorful ramen with gyoza! On days like this, "Yamaokaya" is the place to go, right? I arrived around 11:40 and the seating was about half full. I really dislike the ticket machine at the entrance. Today, I ordered the "Aged Miso Bean Sprout Ramen with Special Gyoza Set (1230 yen)" as a JAF member, making sure to get the free egg. The oily surface of the soup caught my eye. The catchphrase of "deep umami-rich aged miso soup" was more salty than rich for me. The "special thick noodles with a rich wheat flavor" were indeed very thick noodles. I like them, but I feel like Yamaokaya's noodles used to be like this in the past. Isn't the thick noodles their specialty? The well-cooked vegetables and thick noodles mixed well with the salty soup, creating a good combination. The gyoza seemed slightly overcooked, but it was still enjoyable. Yamaokaya is a nice restaurant with garlic and chili bean paste available on the table. I added a couple of spoonfuls and mixed it in. Garlic and chili bean paste really suit ramen shops along the street. With this, I'm all set for staying healthy. Tomorrow, I'll be feeling refreshed and ready for work. Now, I'll go pick up my car after its inspection and rest early!

In 2023, I wanted to try the aged miso ramen at Kurumaya Ramen, but I was asked if I wanted bean sprouts with it. I wonder if there is a specific way to order it? The soup tasted familiar, like the ramen I had a long time ago at Kurumaya Ramen. It might be a mistake, but it brought back nostalgic flavors. I enjoyed it with extra garlic. When we arrived around 9:30 PM, the restaurant was packed and more people kept coming in. It was busy until suddenly around 9 PM, everyone seemed to leave all at once. It's amazing how crowded Yamakaya gets at night. All the kids were using LINE coupons and we all got free eggs. Thank you for the meal! ＼(^o^)／

The Yamagoya in Iwamizawa is gone! I wanted to eat there (laughs). The store seemed smaller than before, with a raised area on the right and tables on the left. My son and I were really hungry, so we also ordered gyoza and rice and ate a lot. Did the taste change? I'm not sure, but it was delicious♡ On weekends, I tend to overeat gyoza and rice (laughs). Overall, the balance of flavors was good. If you want something rich and satisfying, this place is great. The soy sauce ramen is apparently the most popular, so I might try that next time. Today, I visited a ramen shop called "Ramen Yamaokayaten" in Iwamizawa. I was surprised to see that the parking lot was almost full even though it was close to 2 p.m. The shop was also crowded inside. I decided to try the limited-time "Moyashi Miso Ramen" in a medium size since I couldn't find the moyashi topping option on the ticket machine. I ordered it with extra oil at the counter. While waiting, I confirmed that moyashi was not included in the toppings. The ramen arrived, and I took a sip of the soup. It was quite oily due to the extra oil, but the oiliness of Yamaokayaten's soup wasn't overpowering. The miso flavor was strong, but it blended well with the tonkotsu broth. The noodles were the usual thick straight noodles, satisfying to eat. The moyashi, or stir-fried vegetables, had a nice aroma of sesame oil. I enjoyed the moyashi, and the chashu was delicious as always. Towards the end, the sweetness of the soup became a bit overwhelming, but I managed to finish it all. The medium size was filling, and I enjoyed the Moyashi Miso Ramen. Next time, I want to try adding moyashi to a shoyu ramen. Overall, it was a tasty meal.

2021♡♡ 99th Cup, 12/25, just after 11:30 PM, Special Miso Ramen. Got the White Negi with a coupon. Oh man, on the way there, I slipped and ended up swerving into the oncoming lane. It was so scary, but luckily everyone was driving slowly, so no accidents happened. Phew, that was close. After work, I went with my son and used 10 service vouchers to get some gyoza too (laughs). Eating so much at this hour (laughs). The ramen at K's place never disappoints, always delicious. Starting off 2021 with ramen from Yamaokaya and ending it without it, but thank you as always for the great food. Thank you for the meal! (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

I arrived in Iwamizawa from Sapporo around 11 pm. Most of the food shops along the way were already closed, so my options were limited to fast food or family restaurants. It has been 20 years since I last visited a store in Sapporo. ♪ Oh, Yamakoya Ramen ♪ in Iwamizawa. I ordered using a food ticket. I got the limited-time Premium Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen with Gyoza Set for ¥1,200, and also a Fried Rice for ¥340. Just to note, the standalone price for the Premium Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen is ¥890. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes, topped with one slice of chashu, wakame, menma, nori, and chopped green onions, with pork fat floating on top. I took a bite of the ramen and thought, "Is this worth ¥890 alone? What makes it premium?" The chashu was tender, but it lacked a punch in flavor. The gyoza tasted like regular frozen ones, and they quickly became soggy. The fried rice had a strong oil taste, making it hard to distinguish the seasoning or ingredients. Overall, it was not bad, but not exceptional either. I wondered about the cost performance. After eating this, I found myself craving the ramen from Ginparou. Yamakoya has many locations, but unless there's something special, I probably won't revisit. Anyway, thanks for the meal.

2021/9/27 Revisited "104th Ramen Cup" Oh no... I ended up getting a fever and my external ear infection worsened (^^;) There's nothing I can do about it, so I've decided to take a day off today. I had to go to two hospitals, so it's been a tough day off... However, I got medicine for the ear infection, so it should heal eventually, and the fever isn't too high, so it doesn't seem too worrying. Well then, since I'm already home early, I'll take it easy and rest at home. But I don't have lunch at home, so I'll grab something to eat on the way back. So, here it is. Ramen Yamaokaya Iwamizawa Store [4th visit] Last time, I had the Devil Boiled Dried Ramen, and this time I definitely wanted to try the regular soy sauce ramen, so I didn't hesitate and ordered the soy sauce ramen. I wanted to go for a medium size, but considering my health condition, I decided to go for a regular size (lol) and asked for the default preferences. It took about 6 minutes to be served! That's right, this is Yamaokaya! Even the default amount of fat has a thick film, and it's hot!! I took a sip of the soup with a spoon. It's really hot!! The surface is dangerously hot. But that's what's good about it. And the taste is really good. It has a strong saltiness of tonkotsu soup. Yamaokaya is a must for this. The noodles are thick and straight. This is also a signature of Yamaokaya. It seems to go well with this soup. I quietly like the chashu. It's close to ham, but I personally like the subtle sweetness and mild flavor. As I continued eating, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the amount of noodles, but that's enough for today. I finished the soup with a little left. Yamaokaya's soy sauce ramen is delicious after all. Also, I haven't been to Sapporo recently, so I haven't had breakfast ramen, but I want to try it. After the state of emergency is lifted, I want to stay in Susukino and have ramen the next morning... I shifted to a chain restaurant nearby that I hadn't been to in a while! Ramen Yamaokay Iwamizawa Branch [3rd visit] It's been a while since I had Yamaokay!! I really wanted to eat here... The limited-time special this time is Devil Dried Fish Ramen!? Let's go for it! Normally, they ask about your preferences, but this time they only asked about the firmness of the noodles. I requested them to be normal. Also, please bring some gyoza. I wondered why they didn't ask about the amount of fat or the richness of the flavor, but I'll just wait for now. First, the gyoza was brought out and then the ramen appeared shortly after. I was a bit surprised by the ramen!! The soup... or rather, the paste!! Is this fish powder paste!? It's thick. The fish flavor is strong. But it doesn't really feel like soup. I wonder how this will taste. The thick straight noodles might go well with this strong soup. But I still prefer the regular soup (;^_^A The gyoza is really delicious!! Yamaokay's gyoza always has a sense of stability... I really liked it (^^♪ I finished the noodles and ingredients, but I couldn't drink the remaining paste.
