The pudding here is recommended. It's a matter of preference, but I'm not a big fan of the sponge here... I also buy bread occasionally, and it's okay. If you come early in the morning, sometimes they don't have cream (sad face). You may need to visit a few times to figure out the right timing.

On a day off~♪ After finishing shopping and heading home, suddenly I felt like having soft serve ice cream near my house, but there aren't many places around here that sell it. The area where I live in the eastern part of the city seems to be developing compared to the west. So, I reluctantly went to the nearby Seikoma convenience store to satisfy my craving with their ice cream. However, I spotted a sign for soft serve ice cream at the pastry shop across the street! What luck! Let's go check it out! It's a small pastry shop called "Cherry Bonbon" along South Oodori. The mini shop was full with a few customers. Besides cakes, they also have donuts and bread. I've been here a few times and it seems like they specialize in pies and tarts. Although my initial goal was soft serve ice cream, my wife, who was standing in front of the showcase, seemed to be buying something. She had already placed an order, so I decided to join in and ordered a pudding too! I ended up buying bread as well. Lastly, I didn't forget to order the soft serve ice cream and enjoyed it in the car. The "Soft Serve Ice Cream (Vanilla)" cost 300 yen. It wasn't very rich, but it had a fresh milk flavor and was on the sweeter side. There was a slightly grainy texture in the mouth. Well, I was satisfied to have found soft serve ice cream here. Back at home, I tried the "Smooth Pudding" for 190 yen. The pudding had a mild sweetness and was indeed smooth. It lacked richness, but the caramel sauce and whipped cream topping were very sweet. I almost forgot, but the bread was delicious too. A cute little pastry shop. Keep up the good work! (^_^)v

Rod Hospital → Enishi → Apple Bread → Way back. It's the road I always take on my way back. I saw a "Lemon Pie" in Keipon's master's review photos and thought, "Lemon pies are not easy to find," so I decided to stop by. The store seems to be connected to a residential area, where you can park. I entered the store. It had a small, cozy atmosphere, and I initially thought it was run by a young person, but it turned out to be an older lady. And from a door connected to the residential area, a baby appeared! (Grandchild??) I bought a Lemon Pie and, after some hesitation, also got a Cherry Pie (a reference to a character from a manga). They were displayed in a colorful showcase, priced at 310 yen and 390 yen. I thought the dinosaur cake was Godzilla cake at first, but it turned out to be a "dinosaur" cake, haha. I will have them after dinner. Both pies were refreshingly sweet and sour, and delicious. (I felt guilty for having ramen for lunch, so I made my husband eat more than usual.) My husband only said, "Delicious," so I exclaimed, "It's 390 yen!!!!" He was surprised, "390 yen!?! That's quite expensive for something average, 390 yen for this?!" He thinks the 250 yen cake from Fukucha is good enough...

Kitami, I'm going to buy a cake and bring it back. I had it noted down from before, so I'm heading towards the store I had noted - "Cherry Bonbon" in Tabata-cho. It's on the east side of Minami Odori. The building looks nice, but the place seems a bit upscale for me. I wouldn't have entered if I didn't have Tabelog. The place is small and they have cakes, bread, and baked goods. I tried the "Strawberry Choux" and "Strawberry Shortcake." Overall, it's a bit pricey. The lady there didn't say much or smile unnecessarily, but she was nice. The choux pastry was hard, the strawberry had a good balance of sweetness and acidity, and the cream was not too sweet. The shortcake had a fine sponge with a lack of modern texture, but it tasted good. My wife said it's an old-fashioned cake shop, but it's actually a new one. It may not have the modern texture, but the taste is good. Both cakes were delicious.

Located in Kitami City, the core city of the Tokachi region in eastern Hokkaido, this cake shop, "Cherry Bon Bon," is beloved for its cakes and pastries. Formerly located within walking distance from JR Kitami Station on the north side of the city, the shop has since moved to a residential area in the eastern part of the city. Despite the relocation, it continues to be a popular and cherished spot in town. With over 20 varieties of cakes and pastries, this shop is known for its pies, with the "Cherry Pie" being a signature item. However, my personal favorite is the "Chouquette." Resembling a Western-style tile senbei, this crispy chouquette is made with a rich buttery cookie dough topped generously with almonds. The deliciously fragrant almonds and crispy texture make it a perfect match for strong coffee, hojicha, or even black tea. It also has a good shelf life, making it a great souvenir option. Enjoy your tea time with this delightful Chouquette from Cherry Bon Bon!

◆June 2015◆ I visited my favorite izakaya after seeing the owner post on Facebook about how delicious their soft serve ice cream is. I decided to try the mini soft serve ice cream, curry bun, and pudding baked donuts. The soft serve ice cream was incredibly smooth and silky, not like a typical dairy farm soft serve but more like a soft serve from a Western confectionery. It was sweet and had a strong milk flavor. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ◆November 2013◆ There is a cake shop on Minami Odori that specializes in pies, tarts, and roll cakes made with cherries and strawberries. They also sell bread on a shelf next to the entrance, all priced around 100 yen, so it's quite affordable. This time, I bought the recommended cherry pie and some bread. The pie had a sponge cake, whipped cream, and cherries on top. I found it to be very elegant and sophisticated, with a subtle sweetness and a nice tartness from the cherries. It seemed like it would go well with tea rather than coffee. As for the bread, it was quite ordinary in taste.
