Hakodate continues. From a nightmarish night to an early morning golf session. Despite feeling hungover and sleep-deprived, I was dragged out of bed by the organizer and onto the bus. I reluctantly decided to go and play golf, feeling refreshed by the fresh air at the golf course. Suddenly, I spotted a brown moving object ahead - a fox! I called out to it like in the movie "From the Northern Country" and it started coming towards me. It turned out to be a young fox, probably looking for food. Unfortunately, no one had any food to offer, so it left disappointed. Lesson learned in Hakodate: both foxes and women won't come near you unless you have food to offer. For lunch, I had ginger pork set meal. Apologies for the half-eaten food.

On the second day of my Hokkaido trip, I enjoyed playing golf at this golf course in Hakodate. Right now, they are hosting the "Nippon Ham Ladies Classic" here. We were able to tour the golf course a little early. The weather was perfect and we were in high spirits. For lunch, I ordered the Hirekatsu set meal (1,280 yen) at this restaurant. The Hirekatsu was tender and cut into easy-to-eat pieces. My friend who ordered the Katsu Curry asked to exchange a piece of Pork Katsu for a piece of my Hirekatsu, so I tried a bite of the Katsu Curry. Both Katsus were delicious. The curry had a rich flavor and was tasty, but I found it a bit too sweet for my liking. Since I played with rental clubs this time, I felt it was a bit lacking, but everyone seemed to have a great time. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant is located inside a golf course on a hill to the right when you drive counterclockwise around Hakodate Bay from Hakodate Station on the JR Hakodate Main Line, about a 20-minute taxi ride away. The closest station is Kamiso Station on the Esashi Line, about 3 km from this golf course. Nearby, there is the oldest cement factory in operation in Japan, the 123-year-old Taiheiyo Cement Kamiso Factory, as well as the Goro Mine which supplies limestone for the factory. A local training seminar was conducted at the Kamiso Factory and Goro Mine for 3 and a half hours, arriving at the golf course at 12:30. After dressing up and having lunch at the second floor restaurant, the plan was to play 18 holes of golf. The restaurant was spacious with high ceilings and a great view, although the cloudy weather hindered the view of Hakodate Bay and Mount Hakodate. We toasted with beer, and I ordered the pork ginger stir-fry set meal for 1,200 yen. The dish came on a large white plate with pork belly stir-fry and salad, along with rice, miso soup, pickles, and melon for dessert. While most places use pork loin for stir-fry, this restaurant used pork belly, which was surprisingly tasty. My friends ordered curry with pork cutlet for 1,260 yen and black wagyu hamburger set for 1,360 yen, but I was satisfied with my pork ginger stir-fry set. After the meal, we started the golf competition, and playing 18 holes straight was exhausting, resulting in a poor score. I felt like falling asleep in the bath afterwards.
