I ended up ordering only fried corn and myoga tempura. It was my first time trying myoga tempura. The whole myoga fried in tempura was refreshing in my mouth compared to chopped ones. The crispy texture was also good. The tuna tempura had a rare flavor with a hint of shiso, and it was delicious without any fishy smell. The only issue was that I forgot to make it all-you-can-drink.

This is Muroran, Nakajima-cho. Today's restaurant is Manmaru. It is located on Shanshan Street. I've used it for work parties before, so I've been here, but this place is so popular that it's almost fully booked on weekends. I usually just drop by without a reservation, but I've never been able to get in. However, today, maybe because of the lifting of restrictions, it was a bit less crowded and a seat opened up at the counter, so I was able to get in. The counter has 6 seats, a 4-person table, a 6-person table, and 8 private rooms. There is also a large private room for parties on the 2nd floor. The beer is ¥480 for a Premium Malt. This place has amazing foam, but it's poured by a machine. I know that a machine programmed for perfection is better than a human, but still, having it poured by a machine... (laughs). The appetizer is nikujaga (meat and potatoes stew). The potatoes are slightly crushed, which gives it a home-cooked feel that I quite like. The closing dish, shime-saba (vinegared mackerel), is fatty and delicious, probably not from Japan, but it's cheap and tasty, so it's all good. The grilled eggplant is soft and delicious, especially in autumn. The hormone (offal) fried chicken was a bit disappointing as the batter was a bit soggy, maybe a wrong choice. Unfortunately, they only offer all-you-can-drink for groups of 3 or more, which is a shame. The food is cheap and delicious, so I understand why it's crowded. There is a large parking lot across the street, making it easy to come by car. This place seems to be popular with locals too. I'll drop by whenever I can. Thank you for the meal.

Since I came all the way to Muroran, I have to have a drink. I stumbled upon Marumaru and decided to visit. I like the name (laughs). This place doesn't really feel like a Muroran cuisine restaurant, it's just a regular izakaya. I asked the manager for a recommendation since I wasn't very hungry. He suggested the asparagus tempura. The asparagus was sweet and delicious, with a nice crunch! Truly Hokkaido quality! It was fried perfectly crispy. I'll have to come back here next time on an empty stomach!

It has been about a year since the restaurant opened. The reviews around were decent, so I decided to use it for a banquet. I inquired about the schedule and course for the banquet over the phone, and the staff's response was very good, so I immediately decided on this restaurant. The drink-all-you-can menu included Premium Malt, which was great. We chose either "Motsu Nabe" or "Chanko Nabe" for the hot pot, and we went with Motsu Nabe, which was deliciously spicy. We finished off the broth with ramen. Sashimi, tempura, side dishes, seasonal dishes, and salad were also served and all were quite good. The bright and private room atmosphere made me want to come back with friends. The staff's friendly and helpful service made it a pleasant experience. I couldn't try the grilled skewers, so I definitely want to go back personally! I would love to visit again.

I used this restaurant for a small gathering based on a recommendation from a friend. My friend had told me, "You must try the motsunabe (tripe hot pot) here!" so I made sure to reserve the motsunabe when booking. We opted for the all-you-can-drink plan at 4000 yen per person. The drink selection was great, including beer and sparkling wine on tap! The food consisted of appetizers, sashimi, motsunabe, ramen, meat dishes, and dessert. The sashimi was excellent, with seasonal and high-quality selections. The motsunabe was cooked perfectly, with the broth staying rich and flavorful. The ramen was delicious as well. Overall, the quality of food for the price was impressive. I would recommend the banquet plan for a good value.

I used it for a banquet set up by local people. In addition to the counter, there are several seats for about 10 people in the sunken kotatsu seating area. The standout feature is the chewiness of the motsu used in the motsu nabe. I had never experienced that at other restaurants. It's relatively easy to eat as the fat is relatively removed, allowing you to enjoy the texture without getting heartburn. Overall, the evaluation is so-so. Not great, not terrible. It feels like a typical izakaya in Sapporo. The staff's response is also like following a manual, without any extra touch. The restaurant is located in a place where you can see it from a wide two-lane street, but it faces a one-way road, so it might be a bit tricky to park a taxi in front of the entrance depending on the direction you come from. By the way, I found out online before visiting that it's a Suntory beer expert store. This time it was a course meal, so I thought I'd like to try recommended a la carte dishes next time. When I visited my parents' house, my family of five went to this restaurant. Being in Muroran, it's common to drive to izakayas, so having a parking lot was convenient. The menu offered various dishes like motsu nabe, chanko nabe, sashimi, grilled fish, Muroran yakitori (pork skewers), fried foods, salads, etc. We tried motsu nabe, pork skewers, grilled hokke fish, grilled scallops with butter, and sashimi. The motsu nabe had delicious soup and ingredients. However, the service was lacking as the waitress seemed clueless and didn't offer to add more soup to our nearly empty pot until we asked. Despite the restaurant being empty, the service was disappointing. The seating was in semi-private booths, but the table arrangement made it difficult to share dishes. While the food was mostly tasty, the prices were higher compared to similar places in Muroran. For example, pork skewers were priced at 130 yen each, while they are usually around 100 yen in the area. Overall, the food was good, but the service and cost could be improved.
