Next to the ramen shop is a takoyaki shop run by an old man. He was sitting quietly in the back. In the warming case, there were takoyaki. In Hokkaido, what is commonly called "obanyaki or imagawayaki" is referred to as "oyaki." When people in other regions hear "oyaki," they might think of a local dish from the Shinshu region. On the other hand, I have never heard anyone in Hokkaido say "obanyaki" or "imagawayaki." When I asked if they had oyaki, the owner said, "Yes, we have cream only." So, I ordered 2 pieces. I also ordered one takoyaki out of curiosity about the takoyaki box. The box reminded me of the packaging of vending machines from the past, which made me feel nostalgic. I immediately took a photo and tasted them. The oyaki (cream) had a mildly sweet skin that complemented the cream inside. The cream was moderately sweet and had a good consistency. It was just oyaki, but it was delicious. The takoyaki was hot and heavy when I held the box. When I opened it, I found that it was packed full. Each takoyaki was large and heavy. Upon breaking one for a photo, I discovered a white object along with the octopus. I couldn't identify what it was, so I tried eating it separately but still couldn't figure it out. The harmony of octopus and the mysterious object... I think I'll stick to just the octopus. The receipt showed the name of the shop as "Takoyaki Shop, Shimizu," with a comma between "takoyaki shop" and "Shimizu."
