I wandered into this shop in Hikari Yokocho at Daimon, even though there weren't many customers. I'm not sure why the place isn't more crowded, but the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend it. The sashimi platter is similar to other places, but the tsubu salad and miso-grilled oysters are unique and worth trying.

I want to eat seafood at Daimon Yokocho! When I went inside, I saw the sign for "Sakura"! There was a sign outside with the seafood bowl I was looking for!!! I had to go in ^_^ Luckily, I was seated at a table. Here's what we ordered: - Salmon roe bowl (1400 yen) - Chicken and egg bowl (1500 yen) - Grilled Atka mackerel (990 yen) - Octopus with wasabi (440 yen) - Crab miso soup (220 yen) The appetizer was salted spicy cod roe! The crunchy cod roe with a spicy kick was delicious!!! The octopus with wasabi had a consistent flavor. The restaurant was getting busier and busier, with customers coming in and out. The rice in the bowls was on the softer side, but it paired well with the fresh seafood on top. And the portions were generous, so it was very filling! The salmon roe was shiny and fresh! It was delicious. However, the crab miso soup was too strong in flavor, which was disappointing. It overpowered the crab's umami taste. The grilled Atka mackerel was packed with meat and had a nice firm texture! It was thick and just one piece filled me up! At 990 yen, it was a great deal! Thank you for the meal!

The bustling Daimon Yokocho was crowded everywhere. It's a popular tourist spot, so I tried wandering around, but everywhere was full. Still, just walking around was enjoyable. After circling the area twice, I found the only shop that was empty. So, I went in. I ordered the Evening Set for 1100 yen, which includes sashimi, a small dish, and one drink. I ordered a draft beer, but instead of the advertised Super Dry, they served Sapporo Classic in a mug. It tasted very sour and unpleasant. Later customers who tried it immediately returned it saying it tasted strange. The lady behind the counter just sighed and said, "There's nothing we can do about it even if it's returned." It's not just because it's summer, the beer taps should be properly maintained every day.

I arrived at Daimon Yokocho and found that the restaurant I was looking for was full or closed, so I ended up at this small restaurant. It mainly has counter seats and is run by two women around my mother's age. I ordered squid salted fish roe and scallop butter soy sauce grilled. The scallops brought from outside were huge! I've never seen such a size before, so I was excited. I waited for it to cook on the stove in front of me. The scallops were so big and the butter sizzling was irresistible. Many places shrink and lose most of their meat when cooked, but because these scallops were originally large, they had a satisfying amount of meat. When I tried them, the butter had soaked in just right and they were very delicious! Just this alone makes it worth coming to this restaurant! I enjoyed it with some sake.

This was my first visit to Sakurasan in Daimon Yokocho Hikari. It is a relatively easy-to-enter izakaya with a variety of dishes, making it welcoming to tourists. Among the dishes I tried that day, the hot and rich crab gratin was quite delicious.

At Marui Imai in Hakodate, despite the expected struggle due to the impact of the coronavirus on events, we were able to start off better than expected thanks to all the fans. So, let's raise a toast to celebrate that (laughs). I stay overnight in Goryokaku where Marui Imai is located and today I will explore around the station. This place has a nice atmosphere like a street food alley. I thought about going to a cute store with cute girls trying to attract customers, but I was lured by the 1000 yen evening drink set here. It came with sashimi, appetizers, and draft beer. There were 5 types of sashimi - tuna, salmon, octopus, sweet shrimp, and scallop. It's luxurious. I had cold sake with hokke, which used to be cheap. It was delicious with plenty of fat. Prime Minister Abe is saying various things on TV. Maybe it's not the time to leisurely drink. Even though I'm in Hakodate, I have to go to eat soup curry, Genghis Khan, salt ramen, sea urchin, crab, and Lucky Pierrot.

It's night in Hakodate. I really want to go for a meal of fresh seafood, but I have to work now. However, I couldn't resist the temptation and ended up trying the popular Sakura Mori Set at an izakaya called Sakura in Odori Yokocho. It includes fresh sashimi like shrimp, tuna, salmon, and octopus, along with a side dish of Matsumae pickles, crab miso soup, and pickles, all for just 950 yen! It's such a great deal for a fresh sashimi set at only 950 yen. It was delicious. Next time, I want to enjoy it with a cold beer instead of a set meal.

The dinner set was great, but the scallop grill from the special menu was amazing. It was only 500 yen and when I ordered it, it was surprisingly big. This is something you can't find in Tokyo. Unfortunately, the crab that was on special offer was already sold out. Bummer...haha. Thank you for the meal.

I was invited by a woman to enter a restaurant in Hakodate. I wanted to try the local seafood, so I ordered sashimi, squid, scallops, and shishamo. The squid and scallops were delicious. The squid had a crunchy texture and the scallops were thick and sweet. The restaurant seemed more geared towards tourists, but the local food was definitely tasty. However, I ended up paying more than I expected, possibly because I ate too much or because the prices were high. Next time, I'll do some research and look for a restaurant that locals recommend.

I had Sapporo Classic with sashimi, it was delicious.

The shop located in a corner of Daimon Yokocho always has a great sense of openness and is spacious. Even from the outside, you can see the inside of the shop clearly. Despite being just opened, I entered quietly even though I was already quite full. I ordered the recommended 1,000 yen evening drink set. It came with appetizers, sashimi, and beer. The octopus, shrimp, tuna, and salmon were all slightly under-thawed, which was disappointing. I would recommend trying the crab bento offered at the main store instead. Also, the Hokkaido limited drinks such as Haskap Sour, Yubari Melon Sour, and Napolin Sour for 500 yen each are quite appealing.

Eating here was a pleasant surprise. The chewy texture of the squid, the sweetness that oozes out, the perfect balance of umami and the spicy flavor of mentaiko - all combined to create a delightful experience. The lingering taste of the squid's umami in the mouth was truly satisfying. The sashimi was also excellent. The salmon, tuna, shrimp, octopus, and scallops each had their own amazing texture and deliciousness that brought smiles to our faces. The cod fish did not disappoint either, providing a delicious satisfaction. We also tried the off-menu simmered squid, which was an incredibly tasty dish that concentrated the flavor of the spear squid. We had a delightful evening of delicious food and drinks at Hakodate Daimon Yokocho. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I went to a place called "Sakura" on this day. When I arrived after 7 pm, there were already two groups of customers. I sat down and immediately ordered a draft beer, and also ordered a sashimi platter after looking at the menu. The draft beer and the appetizer, which was like marinated squid, arrived. It was easier to eat than regular marinated squid, not too salty. After a short wait, the sashimi platter arrived. It included tuna, scallops, shrimp, salmon, and octopus. It was pretty delicious. Then I ordered cheese spring rolls and a bottled beer. The bottled beer was Sapporo Classic. The cheese spring rolls arrived in about 5 minutes and they were really tasty. The food was good, but the solo performance by a regular customer, who seemed to be on a business trip from the Kansai region, was quite intense... It was more like a bragging session. Without the solo performance, I might have enjoyed the food even more... (laughs) Thank you for the meal.

Since our accommodation was near the station, we decided to drink in Odori. Odori is the nightlife district in front of Hakodate Station. "Where should we go?" asked the business partner. "Let's try Odori Yokocho!" So, we headed to Odori Yokocho. Odori Yokocho is like a "street food village," with various shops to choose from. We wandered around and ended up at a place called "Sakura." Inside the shop, there was an L-shaped counter and a few tables. There were a few older women working there. We ordered the following dishes: - Appetizer: Fried tofu and sliced kelp - Squid sashimi - Scallops with butter - Zangi (fried chicken) - Crab salad - Grilled salmon belly - Beer and Karaage potato shochu We enjoyed the food and drinks, with me having a few glasses of Karaage potato shochu and the business partner sticking to beer. The total bill came to just over 6000 yen, which was cheap. It was a fun and delicious meal. We might come back again in the future! I visited a place in Hakodate to have a little seafood at night. It is located in a corner of an area similar to a street food village in Odori-machi, close to JR Hakodate Station. There were many shops, and I was unsure which one to choose, but I wanted to eat squid so I chose this shop. Inside the shop, there were counters and tables, and everyone seemed to be enjoying food and drinks. We sat at a table and placed our order. We ordered scallops with Trappist butter (300 yen), fresh squid sashimi, clam sashimi, and Sapporo beer. The dishes were served promptly. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious, but the scallops with butter were cooked on a shichirin grill, which was also fun. It's a good place to go when you want to have a little drink.
