I purchased squid rice at Shibata Shoten in front of Mori Station, ate it inside the station, and had 1.5 hours to spare before my train connection, so I decided to have a coffee. I searched for nearby cafes on Google Maps and came across this place, which caught my attention. I walked there and found a retro-looking shop just like in the photos. As soon as I opened the door, I saw a display case of retro cakes. I decided to have an iced coffee and a Mont Blanc cake in the cafe area at the back. The cafe had a retro atmosphere, reminiscent of the early Showa period. The Mont Blanc cake here was different from the ones in Tokyo, with a sponge cake topped with mildly sweet cream and chestnut paste, making it simple and easy to eat. The cozy atmosphere allowed me to relax until the last minute before catching my train.

I had ramen in the forest, bought some snacks, and then went to the hot springs. The first snack shop I visited was Dolman. They had affordable cakes and homemade chocolates, perfect for occasions like Valentine's Day and White Day. Maybe I should have chosen the chocolate cake instead.

On August 25, 2013, I bought some cakes. I got a Sachertorte for 260 yen, a Chocolate Torte for 210 yen, a Souffle Cheesecake for 230 yen, a Strawberry Shortcake for 260 yen, a Twinberry Torte for 260 yen, and a Strawberry Torte for 260 yen. All the cakes were priced below 260 yen, making them affordable. The Sachertorte is a chocolate cake with chocolate cream and a thick chocolate coating, perfect for chocolate lovers. The Strawberry Torte and Twinberry Torte have fruit pieces with a light sweetness, complemented by fluffy sponge and cream. The store is located near Morie Station, just turn left at the post office and walk about 50 meters. They have a small space selling cakes, with a cafe at the back. They offer 10 types of cakes, 3 types of tarts, as well as cream puffs, apple pie, and caramel pudding. I bought the Souffle Cheesecake for 230 yen and the Caramel Pudding for 180 yen. The cheesecake has a mild cheese flavor, while the caramel pudding has a soft, creamy texture with a rich taste. I look forward to trying out the cafe next time.

This is an old-fashioned Western confectionery shop in Mori Town. The exterior exudes a sense of age, and the interior has a retro atmosphere. There is also a café space inside, and they sell confectionery items packaged in ideal gift boxes. The first thing that caught my eye was the cream puff for 120 yen, so I bought it. The pastry had a crispy texture when bitten into, and the cream inside had a nostalgic taste. There was no vanilla bean in it. The price of 120 yen is reasonable, but the taste was not significantly different from cream puffs bought at a supermarket. They also had caramel pudding and cheese soufflé, all priced at 300 yen or less.
