On this day, I visited a Chinese restaurant, Kouki, which has a new owner after a long time. During lunch, I was able to use points and make a reservation. I ordered stir-fried liver and vegetables as my main dish (¥900). In the buffet section, the rice option was fried rice, and the side dishes included mapo tofu, fried chicken, meatballs, and fried noodles. For the salad, they had shredded cabbage, kimchi, and a newly introduced spaghetti salad that I love. It’s a valuable restaurant where you can eat in a spacious setting for under a thousand yen when you want to fill your stomach, so I highly recommend checking it out.

I ordered the Tianjin ramen for 900 yen, and since I was with my husband, we also got the chicken with sweet soy sauce (Yurijing) for 1,000 yen. Because I ordered a dish over 900 yen, we were allowed to use the side dish buffet. There weren't many options, but it made me feel really happy (laughs). I had tried the Yurijing before, but it was my first time having Tianjin ramen. It tasted just like Tianjin rice, and it was delicious! It had a nice thickness to it and was soy sauce-based. We shared our food, and with the buffet as well, we ended up really full (laughs).

I visited a Chinese restaurant that had changed to a different place for lunch. However, the interior wasn't much different, and the menu resembled what you often find in recent Taiwanese restaurants. The dining area was spacious, featuring table seating, semi-private rooms, and a raised section that was partitioned off. I ordered the 【Yaki Gyoza Set (980 yen)】, which includes five gyoza and one option selected from six different choices. There were options like fried chicken, Mapo rice, and egg fried rice, but I chose the fried rice. The gyoza were pan-fried with such a crispy texture that you couldn't see their shape at all. These large gyoza were filled with plenty of meat and incredibly juicy. The fried rice was a bit greasy for my taste. On the wall, there was a buffet space, and a notice stated that for set meals priced over 900 yen, it was only available for those ordering a la carte. However, I found out that those with sets were also welcome to use it. At the buffet, there were not just appetizers but also main dishes like Mapo tofu, fried chicken, fried noodles, and fried rice, along with salads, almond jelly, and soup, making it easy to create an extravagant meal. Although the freshly-fried items weren't super hot, it’s helpful to consider the menu options carefully to avoid overlapping, allowing you to enjoy a greater variety. Although my fried rice choice overlapped, the one from the buffet was a simple egg fried rice that I preferred as it was lighter and had a nice egg sweetness. The original menu had enough volume, so I couldn't eat too much, but those who enjoy large portions would definitely find it worthwhile. I also ordered 【Seafood Congee (780 yen)】. Lately, I have been ordering congee when I go to these types of Chinese restaurants since it’s a lighter option and ideal for sharing. The congee had finely chopped vegetables and a light broth, and while I couldn't taste much of the seafood flavor, it was still delicious. We were seated in a semi-private room, but all the seats were spacious and comfortable, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. The parking was also convenient in the back, making it easy to visit by car.

I suddenly wanted to eat soup dumplings, so I went to Houki (*^^*). I ordered soup dumplings and fried rice. There were many set menus and lunch specials, and it seemed like a lot of people were ordering those during lunch time. If you order over 900 yen, you can also get a buffet. The variety was abundant, and I thought it would have been nice to just order my favorite dumplings or fried items for the main dish and get the buffet as well. The buffet included soup, white rice, fried rice, yakisoba, mapo tofu, meatballs, fried chicken, salad, and almond jelly, allowing you to enjoy everything from appetizers to desserts ·͜· ♡ The dishes in the buffet were warm and delicious! The fried rice I ordered was piled high, almost like it was packed into a bowl before being flipped over. It had various ingredients and just the right amount of saltiness, not too overpowering. The soup dumplings were chewy and stuffed full. I felt really full afterward. Next time, I’d like to come with a few people and try a variety of dishes! (*^_^*)

Today, I was taken to a Chinese restaurant in Kokura for lunch with a client. There was a parking lot behind the restaurant, where I parked my car before heading inside. The space was quite spacious, and the lunch menu offered eight different options. I chose the Mapo Tofu set (900 yen), and to my surprise, the side dishes were served buffet-style! There were items like fried chicken, yakisoba, and meatballs, along with soup and dessert, and we could help ourselves to unlimited rice. It was incredibly generous! While I was enjoying the buffet, my Mapo Tofu arrived. I took a bite, and I was taken aback by the flavor… It felt like just tofu and minced meat drizzled with chili oil — not quite what I expected. I usually prefer a Sichuan style, but this just didn’t suit my taste. Although the buffet had a wide variety of dishes, most of them were pretty cold. It was a shame since there was so much variety.

I researched where I could use my Tabelog points at a Chinese restaurant and found out that the name of the restaurant had changed from "Tōsai" to "Kōki," which I hadn't visited since the name change. I made a reservation through the website and went there. Upon arrival, I asked if I could use my V points for payment, and they assured me that it was no problem. The ambiance of the restaurant and the staff, who are all Chinese, have not changed; it seems the only thing that has changed is the name. Looking at the lunch menu, I noticed that prices have gone up by about 100 yen compared to before. For dinner, I ordered from the set meal and à la carte menus, choosing three items: plain rice, five-vegetable ramen, and squid tempura. Although I could have added noodles to the set meal for an extra 200 yen, I really wanted to try both the five-vegetable ramen and the squid legs, so I went ahead and ordered them, especially since I was paying with V points. When my meal was brought to me, I finally got to dig in. The squid legs were crispy on the outside and slightly sweet, with a concentrated umami flavor that kept me wanting more. The five-vegetable ramen had such a light broth that you could taste the essence from the ingredients, and it was generously filled with more than five types of toppings—quite a luxurious ramen. Thank you for the meal!

I was tired today, so I'll keep it simple. I had a Youchinri for 1000 yen. It was crispy and delicious. There were plenty of vegetables on it too. The side dishes at the buffet were hot and tasty as well. The chives and eggs dish (like a stir-fry) was especially delicious!

Cool Chinese noodles for 900 yen, with a buffet of Chinese salads included. Although it's called a salad, there were fun items like fried chicken, yakisoba, fried rice, soup, and almond jelly. I wonder if the owner has changed? It seems to be the same as the previous place, Tōsai. The menu still has the name Tōsai covered with a sticker (laughs). The main dish, the cold noodles, stayed cool until I finished eating, and there were more vegetables as toppings than I expected, which were delicious. The noodles were cooked al dente, exactly to my liking.

I visited for the first time since the renewal. It seems like not much has changed besides the name. I thought about coming for lunch, but this time I dined in for dinner. The shrimp chili was delicious and very filling. I left completely satisfied!

In Shimizu, Kokura-Kita Ward, Kitakyushu City, the Chinese restaurant 唐彩 has changed its name and ownership. However, the menu and system remain the same. For lunch, the menu includes dishes like Mapo tofu, garlic chives and liver, chicken mayo, oil-fried eggplant, zhajiang knife-cut noodles, and shrimp mayo. If you order any single item, lunch item, or set meal for 900 yen or more, you can take advantage of the Chinese-style salad bar. The selection is impressive, featuring fried chicken, yakisoba, fried rice, curry, pickled vegetables, stir-fried bean sprouts, vegetable stir-fry, kimchi, and more. This time, I ordered zhajiang knife-cut noodles (1000 yen). These are dry, sauce-free knife-cut noodles topped with a sweet and spicy minced meat sauce, along with bean sprouts and cucumber. The sauce is quite rich. The knife-cut noodles have a unique texture. Although the price is slightly high at 1000 yen, considering you can use the Chinese-style salad bar, the cost-performance ratio isn’t too bad. This location has frequently changed businesses, and it’s nostalgic to think about when there used to be a conveyor belt sushi restaurant here. Thank you for the meal!

The parking lot is located next to the store. A casual Chinese restaurant opened on June 1 in the former location of 唐彩 in Kokura Kita Ward. Lunch starts at 900 yen, and when you choose a main dish, you can enjoy unlimited rice, side dishes, and dessert. I ordered the chilled Chinese noodles (900 yen). The cost performance is unbeatable for being able to eat this much for such a price!
