During my visit to the area near Iwamizawa, about an hour from Sapporo, I wanted to go to the famous yakitori restaurant Sanbu in Iwamizawa, but it was closed on Sundays. Many other restaurants were also closed on Sundays, so I ended up going to a local Hokkaido chain restaurant called En. I was initially hesitant about going to a chain restaurant, but the all-you-can-drink beer with food for 750 yen, large and cheap yakitori skewers, and thick and delicious sashimi changed my mind. This is the quality of Hokkaido. Unlike Tokyo, where you often get what you pay for, Hokkaido offers great quality at reasonable prices. I underestimated En as a place for college students, but the food was delicious, especially the tsukune. I forgot to take a picture of the tsukune, so it might not come across, but you should definitely order it. Also, don't forget to try the sashimi.

Oh, it's been about a year! They used to have a drink-all-you-can deal on February 9th every year, but they didn't do it this year. I was feeling down, thinking maybe it was because of the Snow Festival LINE coupon. But maybe Hotpot is a better deal after all. Had a fun time with Yukako-san, who I am indebted to. It's hot, isn't it! So, my son and I went to a restaurant at 3:30 pm. It was early, so we opted for the 90-minute all-you-can-drink option since it was also Friday. Surprisingly, there were no other customers there, so we had the place to ourselves. The drinks and alcohol were served quickly, which was great. I ordered the extra-large moon-viewing pork and rice, but it was more than I expected and I couldn't finish it! (laughs) Overall, it was a wonderful evening and a delicious meal! Thank you!

I went to Flame for lunch for the first time. The Zangi Tsukune set meal I had, with extra rice, was only 759 yen including tax. My wife's Tsukune set meal with raw egg was even cheaper at 429 yen including tax. Together, it was less than 1,200 yen. This is quite nice. However, when we ordered two oolong teas, it cost an additional 500 yen... I've never felt oolong tea was so expensive before (laughs). Still, we were very satisfied. We will come back again. Maybe next time, beer and tsukune would be nice.

90 minutes for 290 yen, what does that mean? Cheaper than happy hour. I have work tomorrow but it's okay to have a quick drink. It's like a part-time job club. Mr. Wizuhashi, the train was stopped so they offered a pick-up service, welcome! We chatted a lot and drank freely, the bill came out to 3355 yen. See you again the day after tomorrow. On weekends and holidays, it's great that they start at 3pm - it's cheap. On this day, there was a LINE coupon available, so the 120-minute all-you-can-drink option was cheaper and we also got a plate of salted zangi. It was the best. The group consisted of the usual 3 people plus one more person, making it 4 people in total. They are all colleagues from part-time jobs and clubs, so we drank, talked, and laughed as usual. I didn't eat much this time, but the bill was surprisingly only 2400 yen per person. This was just the first round, right? I was the only woman, and the rest were men. I guess I'm more of a drinker than an eater. I didn't eat much this time either (lol). It's surprising, but we only took one photo (lol). The flame was amazing. Thank you for the meal!

2020/07/16 2nd Visit I visited Flame, located in Iwamizawa, for the second time within two weeks. I ordered the usual all-you-can-drink option for 90 minutes at 750 yen. This time, I asked for a highball. For food, I ordered a dish that would be ready quickly, cold tofu, salted chicken gizzards, and the red beef tripe that I had my eye on. - Highball and Macaroni Salad (Appetizer) The appetizer this time was macaroni salad. It was okay, nothing special, just a simple appetizer. - Cold Tofu 290 yen + tax The cold tofu was served quickly and had a good portion size. It kept me satisfied while waiting for the other dishes. The price was reasonable. - Salted Chicken Gizzards 290 yen + tax This dish had a generous portion size, was hot and juicy, and very delicious. A filling dish for one person at a great price. - Red Beef Tripe 90 yen + tax Still delicious! I really love this dish, it's addictive. I ended up having three of them today. I also ordered more beer and enjoyed firefly squid with vinegar miso dressing, hina skin skewers, and sand liver skewers. - Firefly Squid with Vinegar Miso Dressing 390 yen + tax This is another favorite of mine. The flavor changes dramatically and it's really tasty. - Hina Skin Skewers 130 yen + tax Juicy and delicious. It's salty, so it's not too heavy. Surprisingly refreshing. - Sand Liver Skewers 120 yen + tax I finished off with sand liver skewers in salt. The texture is great and it's very tasty. It goes down easily even after oily dishes. I feel like I ate too much today. I also had quite a bit of beer. The variety of food options keeps it interesting and makes me end up eating too much. It was delicious once again. Thank you. July 6, 2020 - After leaving my first visit to Tori Fuji, I stumbled upon a flaming sign right in front of me. This led to an unexpected yakitori crawl at En Iwamizawa branch. I started with two beers and two glasses of sake, opting for the all-you-can-drink option for 90 minutes at 750 yen. I began with beer and warm cheese potato (appetizer). The cheese potato was surprisingly delicious, a refreshing change from all the yakitori I had been eating. Next, I ordered additional yakitori. I personally prefer the tsukune with sauce, but both salt and sauce versions were tasty. I then switched to sake and ordered hormone and liver skewers with tare sauce, as well as firefly squid with vinegar miso. The red motsu skewer for 90 yen was a big hit, delicious and a steal at that price. The pork liver was cooked just right, tender and flavorful. The firefly squid with vinegar miso was a perfect match for sake. Overall, all the dishes I ordered today were hits, and I felt comfortable and relaxed in the familiar atmosphere of a chain restaurant. It was a satisfying meal, and I look forward to coming back. We went with my colleague's family and my family to the restaurant. There were a total of 5 people! We arrived after 5 pm and no one was there, but by 6 pm, people started coming in. Due to the impact of COVID-19, we didn't receive the all-you-can-drink coupon for chicken wings, so we just ordered what we wanted to eat and drink. My favorite dish was the beef tendon with ponzu sauce for 390 yen. The french fries were cold, but we asked for some mayonnaise and everyone enjoyed them. The total bill was 12,826 yen. Today, we got a discount on the all-you-can-drink option, half-price fried rice, and the meatballs were slow to come out. We had a year-end party even though it's still November, but it was supposed to be the first one. I wanted it to be 3 hours, but they said they had reservations. It was empty though, so I doubt it's true (lol). The all-you-can-drink for 2 hours was 780 yen? 980 yen? I can't remember which one it was. It's cheap, right? Beer is included too! I don't drink beer, but my friends only drink beer! I wasn't hungry and my throat was dry, so I drank without eating. But I have to be careful because when I get into a conversation, my hand stops. Today was a farewell party. Lately, I have been using this restaurant frequently. The service here can be either really good or really bad. Sometimes the food and drinks don't come out. I keep lifting my glass only to find it empty and then putting it back down. I wonder if they are limiting the amount they serve because it's all-you-can-drink. Today we had hot pot. There were three types of meatballs that were all-you-can-eat. I also had seconds of udon noodles. It was very delicious. But the slow pace of drink service made the food lose some of its flavor. Unfortunately. Lastly, we had porridge. It was well made. However, I had no space left in my stomach. I couldn't finish it. I'm sorry. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went on the last day of the consecutive holidays, but it was full due to reservations from other customers. I ordered Ezo deer skewers, other skewers, and sauce yakisoba, all of which were delicious! The speed from ordering to serving is fast. The dishes have a good volume for the price. Highly recommended!

Fire. There were no good past impressions of this restaurant. I avoid using it for private purposes. This time, I visited as a setting for guests. First, the tatami room we were led to was a small room divided by curtains with 4 tables. It was too narrow for 6 men to sit comfortably. Maybe the person who made the reservation didn't explain well. The good points this time were: 1. When we called, the staff came right away. 2. The drinks we ordered arrived in about 10 minutes. 3. The dishes came out at a reasonable pace. My image of Fire has changed quite a bit. It has become like a normal izakaya in terms of service. Furthermore, we were able to enjoy dishes such as the Iwamizawa specialty Kiji skewers and the Hokkaido-exclusive Ezo deer skewers that are not available at other restaurants. I felt like a restaurant that could guide out-of-town guests had been established in Iwamizawa. The Ezo deer skewers were tender and had no gamey taste. The black deer meat in a dark room didn't look appealing, but it was more delicious than expected. The Kiji skewers had a small amount of meat for the price, but the rareness added to the experience. I ordered the tsukune assortment on a whim, but it was full of volume. The mayonnaise, grated daikon, and other toppings were creative. This was also delicious. My image of Fire has changed significantly. I felt that it had become a restaurant that is easy to visit as an izakaya. I think it would be even better if they told us the names of the dishes when serving them.

I understand that you are busy, but the clean-up after the party next door was too sloppy. The hot pot and tsukune were delicious, so it's really a shame.

Dinner at the counter. All-you-can-drink beer is very affordable. The hiyayakko (chilled tofu) is also very filling. The skewer alacarte was enough for dinner. Ordering and serving were speedy. It was delicious.

All-you-can-drink is cheap. The raw tsukune, red sashimi, and salt yukhoe are delicious, so I recommend trying them. Also, the raw tsukune soup is the best. You can have as many refills as you want, so you can drink a lot.
