This is Yamatecho in Muroran. Today's restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Muroran City General Hospital. As the name suggests, it's on the 2nd floor of the city hospital. I took a day off on a weekday, because you have to try places that you can't go to on weekends, right? There is another big hospital nearby, but it closes a bit early, so I came here instead. Unlike MyRebi, who earns a lot of money by taking a lot of breaks, I can't eat much for lunch during the day, so I had lunch early and thought I could still have some noodles around 3 pm. I visited around 3:30 pm, and the restaurant, with 10 seats, had no customers before or after me. All tables were for one person along the wall, with an unusually large space between them. I thought it was because of COVID, but there was a notice saying that it was to allow patients in wheelchairs or with IV drips to move around freely. I see, there is such consideration in hospitals. I learned something new! During lunchtime, there are various rice bowls and set meals available, but the menu is limited at the time I visited. I had the salt ramen for 510 yen. It's cheap, right? For 500 yen, it had a good taste of animal-based broth, and the chashu was delicious. The noodles seemed like the ones you can buy at a supermarket, but in places like this, it's more about convenience than taste. The price is cheap and I think it's good! Thank you for the meal!

There is a cafeteria on the second floor of the municipal hospital. I was curious because there was a review saying that the salt ramen is delicious. The hospital is quite a grand building, but the cafeteria, especially the seating area, doesn't seem to have spent much money on it (lol). It is about the same size in terms of space and number of tables as the cafeteria at JCHO Sendai Hospital. Here, there are also counter seats available, making it suitable for solo diners. The menu consists of noodles, curry, and rice bowls, with no set meals apparently. You purchase a meal ticket and hand it to the staff, then wait at the counter seats for your order to be called. I bought a meal ticket for "Salt Ramen" (500 yen), placed my order, prepared my own water, and waited at the counter seats. I was called and received my order in 8 minutes. The clear soup is light and refreshing. It seems to lack depth a bit, but it's not bad. The toppings are thick menma (bamboo shoots) and thin slices of chashu (roast pork). The chashu is a bit salty and not very impressive. It's interesting how the fried tofu, when soaked in the soup, transforms into a substantial ingredient. The noodles seem to be a basic, no-frills type, like those used in commercial settings. Overall, it's decent for something like a staff cafeteria level. When they were bringing down the rice bowls, I could hear the sound of stir-frying and pots clanging in the kitchen. There are no stir-fried dishes on the menu... maybe it's the staff meal? Are they also making bento boxes for sale?

This is a cafeteria on the second floor of the Municipal Muroran General Hospital. The lantern says "misuzu" but it doesn't seem to be the name of the restaurant. It was open on a weekday during Golden Week when there were outpatient visits, so we decided to eat here. The cafeteria has about 4-5 table seats and around 10 single seats, so it seems to be different from the staff cafeteria. I had pork cutlet curry for 670 yen, and my mother had shrimp tempura soba for 570 yen. My mother always orders shrimp when it's on the menu. She was happy to see that there were 2 shrimp tempura on her dish. She said it was delicious. The pork cutlet in the curry was freshly fried and the curry was medium spicy. It was also delicious. Once you're inside the hospital, you only have the option to buy something at the store or eat here, so it's a convenient cafeteria for people waiting for tests or visiting someone. Last time, my father said the salt ramen he had while waiting for his test was delicious.
