I came to Kichijoji for the first time. It was quite crowded on Saturday, making it difficult to walk around. I walked from the north exit of Kichijoji Station towards Tokyu Department Store, and then walked along Taisho Street to find the shop. It was a bit hard to find as it was not directly facing the street, located on the basement floor of a building slightly off the main street. The shop can only accommodate 5-6 people, and there was only one group waiting outside when I arrived. The interior of the shop is spacious and has a stylish atmosphere. All the staff are women who take orders while you wait in line. This time, I bought a baguette and a BE20 sandwich bread. The baguette was the best I've ever had, with a crispy exterior and a moist and chewy yet firm texture inside. The BE20 was also delicious, but it was a bit small in size and I finished it quickly. I wish it had more volume. The other items on the menu look delicious too, so I will definitely come back. It's a very delicious bakery worth visiting all the way to Kichijoji for. Highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

This is a bakery located on Taisho Street in Kichijoji. I visited after a long time. The shop has a stylish boutique-like appearance. You choose the neatly arranged bread in the showcase and ask the staff to buy it. I was told about the differences between the three types of bread, and this time I chose the BL30 for ¥500, which has the most flavor. I also bought the red bean bread for ¥280 and the boulangerie for ¥140. The red bean bread has a solid texture and I really like it! The sandwich bread has a smooth texture and you can taste the butter flavor. The boulangerie is also delicious and fluffy! I definitely want to eat here again. Thank you for the meal.

Visit on 2023/09/10 at 12:09. When I entered and left, I passed by other customers, but I was the only one in the store when making a purchase. It was still lunchtime, so there were plenty of items available. The staff recommended the hard bread. I bought Pain au Noix (530 yen), Gruyere Blue (380 yen), Akane (250 yen), and Kura Dashimochi Mochi Pan (280 yen). - Pain au Noix: A hard bread made with rye and filled with walnuts. It has a relatively low acidity, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. - Gruyere Blue: A stick-shaped bread with cheese. It has a great texture, generous amount of cheese, and is delicious without being too overpowering. - Akane: A small red bean bun. The sweet red bean paste had a unique flavor, similar to Chinese red bean paste. - Kura Dashimochi Mochi Pan: A simple bagel with a hint of sweetness. It's a bread that everyone would enjoy. The shop is a bit hard to find, but the atmosphere inside is stylish. Overall, the quality of the bread is high, making it a place worth revisiting.

When I visited around 3pm on Saturday afternoon, the selection was quite limited. The "Akane" for 250 yen is a small but memorable red bean bun. It is made with red bean paste cooked with brown sugar, wrapped in a fluffy dough made with milk and butter, and baked. The smooth red bean paste pairs well with the dough. The "Kanoko" for 220 yen is a square bread with Hokkaido black bean paste filling. The dough, made with 100% Hokkaido wheat, has a subtle sweetness to it.

September 2023. I live in Musashino City and had never been here before. It's really hard to find, tucked away in a confusing location. It's a super famous shop, so I had heard about it in magazines, but this was my first visit. I went in August during summer vacation, so it was crowded. It's located next to Nikitiki on Taisho Street, and you have to go downstairs, which makes it even harder to find. But being such a popular shop, customers are drawn here like magnets. Going downstairs, I was amazed by the stylish and sophisticated space. I went around 11:30 on a weekday, and they had a limited selection. The staff takes the items from the display case for you, so you can't take your time to choose, which I didn't like. I ended up picking a small bread, a berry scone, a croissant, and a round bread in a hurry. When I got home and tried the croissant, it was okay. It seemed to be made with good ingredients, but it didn't have any outstanding features for me. The berry scone, on the other hand, was delicious! As someone else mentioned in their review, it was different from a typical scone, with a crispy exterior and a moist interior, and the berries added a great fruity flavor. It was a scone like I had never had before. The bread labeled "Butter 20" was soft with many air pockets. I struggled to slice it with a bread knife. I tried a slice plain and later toasted another slice. The toasted slice had a nice crunch and a subtle buttery aroma. I preferred it toasted. The round bread didn't have any distinct characteristics for me. It was a mild bread that didn't stand out. Perhaps it would be better as a sandwich bread with some ham, cheese, or lettuce. Overall, none of the items blew me away, but since it's such a popular spot, if you're in Kichijoji, it's worth a visit. Next time, I'll do more research and try some of their popular items. Thank you for the meal!

Located a little off the main street from Tokyu in Kichijoji, this bakery has a modern and stylish atmosphere. Despite its hard, rye bread-like appearance, the bread inside is soft, fluffy, and fragrant with butter, reminiscent of focaccia. The wheat-flavored dough is soft and not too overpowering, making it very easy to eat. The bread sizes are generally small, and prices are typical for Tokyo, ranging from around 300 to 400 yen.

On a holiday, I went for a walk with my son. About a 7-8 minute walk from Kichijoji Station North Exit, there is a bakery located on the back street of Fuchimura Women's School, on the B1F level. This bakery offers stylish bread made with domestically produced wheat, alongside other sophisticated pastries, in a refined space that deeply moves the hearts of Musashino's fashionable ladies. It has been awarded as one of the top 100 bread shops from 2017 to 2022 consecutively. Reservations are possible at this shop. I arrived at the shop around 1 pm on a Saturday after making a reservation one week in advance. Regardless of having a reservation, you need to wait in line, so I joined the line of about 10 people outside. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I finally entered the shop. The style is to select and order the bread displayed in the showcase. In addition to the items I had reserved in advance - Akane, Pain au Chocolat, Grappa, and a special mochi mochi bread, I also added a red bean and cinnamon roll that caught my eye. I purchased a total of 6 items. The next morning, I tried the bread. The red bean bread had a moist dough with red beans kneaded in and a fragrant five-grain coating, baked to a fluffy texture. The unique taste of red beans was not overpowering, so even my son, who doesn't like beans, enjoyed it. The chewy texture of the special mochi mochi bread is a result of the skillful combination of amazake and honey. Although it doesn't have any filling, the refreshing aroma that wafts through your nose and the increasing sweetness as you chew make it incredibly delicious. The Grappa had juicy muscat raisins wrapped in rum, generously filling every bite. The raisins pop out with every chew, releasing a mature flavor in your mouth. This is a must-try for all raisin lovers out there. The Pain au Chocolat was a croissant with a crispy texture, generously filled with rich and tangy dark chocolate. I initially thought it was for children, but I was surprised by its truly adult taste. The cinnamon roll was a true classic with a spicy aroma that stood out, unlike the usual heavily-iced versions commonly found in the city. It was too early for my son to appreciate it. Akane was a blend of Japanese and Western flavors, with a soft dough rich in butter aroma and a moist sweet red bean paste cooked with cane sugar. The elegant sweetness without any unpleasantness shines through. Overall, the atmosphere of the shop, the staff's service, and the quality of the bread were all highly satisfying, as expected of a top 100 shop. I envy those who live nearby! Thank you for the wonderful meal. I will definitely visit again.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Kichijoji Station, this trendy bakery is always crowded with people. They don't have the typical sweet or savory breads, but offer a treasure trove of high-quality and stylish breads. I remember visiting on a holiday around 3 PM and they were already sold out. This time, I visited on a Saturday around 1:30 PM and although the store was busy, I was able to enter smoothly without having to wait in line outside. I purchased the following breads: "Shushu" (¥580), "Edamame Focaccia" (¥280), and "Pistachio" bread (¥280). The staff will retrieve the breads for you based on the names displayed in the showcase. The "Shushu" was a hard bread filled with plenty of walnuts and cranberries. The "Edamame Focaccia" was small but packed with salty edamame, very delicious. The "Pistachio" bread had a soft and chewy texture with a rich pistachio flavor. Each bread elevates your daily breakfast to a more stylish level. Next time I'm in Kichijoji, I will definitely stop by again.

Visited around 3 pm on a Saturday and descended a beautiful staircase to get there. The bakery operates by customers telling the staff what they want instead of self-service. Today, they only had baguettes and whole wheat 100% campagne bread available. I saw some people who had made reservations. The bread had a great texture and flavor, definitely worth a visit.

<Ratings: Taste 3.8> This was my second visit. I purchased croissant, crusty bread, and blueberry scone for takeout. Each item had a gentle taste with a hint of wheat aroma. The crusty bread had a perfect balance of butter and sweetness from cane sugar, making it very delicious. <Service: 3.4> The service was attentive. <Ambiance: 3.8> The place was clean and had a sophisticated, stylish interior with a calm atmosphere.

<Usage situation> On Sunday afternoon, there are always about 3 groups of people in the shop. The remaining number of breads doesn't seem to be that many. 👌Grappa Small 280 A dense French bread filled with organic raisins soaked in white rum overnight. The sweet and juicy raisins provide a satisfying bite! Probably more than 70% of the dough is filled with raisins! 👌Cheese Stick A salty and addictive stick bread with a dense texture.

I visited this bakery in Kichijoji after having Italian lunch. The exterior of the building was under construction, but there was a sign saying "Open" near the stairs leading down to the basement. The interior of the shop had a very calm and stylish atmosphere. The bread is obtained by asking the staff. The bread sizes are mostly small. I bought Muesli (650 yen), Pistachio (280 yen), Croissant (280 yen), Akane (250 yen), and Crustillon (220 yen). Akane is an anpan, but it looks stylish in katakana haha. Each bread is wrapped in paper, but the bag is charged separately, so I put them in my eco bag. My personal favorite is the Crustillon with half-melted cane sugar cubes in the middle. I will definitely buy it again next time I visit. All the other bread looked delicious too, so I will definitely go back to buy more when I'm in Kichijoji again.

A lovely shop that embodies the atmosphere of Kichijoji. I happened to pass by and decided to stop in. Despite just opening, the shop was already bustling with locals coming in one after another. The Olive Vivy, a long bread with olive paste, was delicious! I definitely want to do some research and visit this shop again next time.

About a 5-minute walk from Kichijoji Station. The exterior was under construction, which made me a bit unsure, but I was relieved to see that the store was open. Today, I ordered a Pan au Noix for 530 yen, Gruyere Bleu for 380 yen, and Pistache for 280 yen. The total including tax was 1,190 yen. The Pan au Noix was a hard bread with plenty of crunchy walnuts, a hint of sweetness, and the aroma of rye that matched perfectly. The Gruyere Bleu had a crispy layer of cheese on top, adding a flavorful touch. The Pistache was a soft white bread with salty pistachios generously mixed in, and it was also very delicious. I wish I had bought more of it. Overall, I enjoyed everything until the end. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On a bread-hunting journey, I rushed into the store just before closing time! ◆Access◆ I cannot comment on the experience from the station as I traveled by car. ( ˊᵕˋ ;) ◆Operating hours and atmosphere◆ There were hardly any bread left as it was just before closing time. ◆Order◆ I ordered Pan Paysan and Yuzesu. ◆Impressions◆ Both Pan Paysan and Yuzesu have a taste that is different from the sweet bread that children like, it is more suited for adults. Especially, the salted pork in Yuzesu has an amazing salty flavor that would go well with wine, sparkling wine, or beer! I recommend it to those who enjoy alcohol to try it at least once. ( *´︶`*)

Store Name: Dandy Zone Location: Kichijoji Type: Bakery Among all the bread stores I have visited for my bread journey, this was the most stylish and luxurious shop. It felt like a resort facility when I arrived. Unfortunately, it was close to closing time and most of the bread was sold out, leaving me with limited options. I purchased: - Pain de Campagne (1/4) ¥280 Made with "Yume Asahi" whole grain flour from Shinshu Natsumi Farm (grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers during the cultivation period) and homemade fermented starter using wheat from Hokkaido. - Yuzesu ¥350 Contains roasted salted pork. It was recommended to bake it in a toaster oven for 2-3 minutes to make it even crispier and more fragrant. Made with 100% Hokkaido wheat - and surprisingly, it was delicious! I'm not usually a fan of hard bread, but this one had the perfect texture. The roasted salted pork inside the bread was so flavorful and delicious. It was a unique taste, unlike ham or bacon. I can't wait to come back earlier next time and try other products. My expectations are now high!

I visited Dandizon, a place I hadn't been to in a while. While Kichijoji is a familiar place for me, I still haven't found any restaurants that I particularly enjoy there... it's a food desert for me. I can't believe it's already their 20th anniversary. I used to just think of it as a stylish bakery in the past... I guess I'm getting older, haha. I arrived at 1 pm on a holiday and there was only one other customer. It was surprisingly empty, which was nice. I bought a baguette for 300 yen, BL30 for 500 yen, croissant for 280 yen, Grappa small for 280 yen, Crustion for 220 yen, Frisson for 170 yen, and Azuki for 280 yen. Looking at the prices again, they're not that expensive overall. The items are on the smaller side, so I end up buying various kinds of bread. I sliced the baguette and BL30, and put away the ones I wasn't going to eat right away in the freezer. BL30 is my usual go-to. The baguette is for dinner. The Grappa I always buy is a classic choice. There are no surprises, but they're all reliable and comforting. If someone asks me what to buy in Kichijoji, I recommend this shop. Dandizon is a versatile place that appeals to everyone. It's a gem of Kichijoji, having been around for a long time. It's a testament to the time they've spent in Kichijoji.

The shop was hard to find and the exterior was under construction, making it even more confusing. It's located on the basement floor and the interior is stylish. It's more like a Western-style confectionery shop with items displayed in clear cases and the service is very polite. I wanted to try the blueberry danish or the mini loaf of bread, but when I saw the freshly baked blueberry danishes, I had to get one. There's an empty lot with benches in front of the shop, so I enjoyed it there under the scorching sun. The taste is definitely top-notch. If I lived nearby, I would go there to buy bread twice a week.

Today, I had some time in the morning so I visited a new shop in Asagaya before heading to my destination in Musashikogane. I made a stop in Kichijoji on the way to revisit "Dans Dix ans" to buy some bread. The shop is located in the basement of a building with a small sign near the stairs, making it feel like a hidden gem. The atmosphere inside is chic and cozy, resembling a boutique. I ordered a Crustillon (220 yen), Croissant (280 yen), Yuzesu (350 yen), and Vivi (280 yen). The croissant was delicious with a crispy exterior and a moist, chewy interior. It had a lovely aroma of wheat and four-leaf butter. The Crustillon was cute and soft with a pleasant sweetness from the cane sugar. The Yuzesu had a nice balance of saltiness and umami from the salted pork, perfect for pairing with alcohol. The Vivi, a stick-shaped bread, had a crunchy exterior and a soft interior with a generous amount of green olives, providing a pleasant acidity. Overall, the bread showcased high-quality ingredients and a great level of craftsmanship. I was more than satisfied and would love to try more varieties in the future when I have the chance to visit early.

Around 11 am on Sunday, I visited a hidden gem located about a 10-minute walk from Kichijoji Station North Exit. Walking along Taisho Street, you'll find a staircase on the right side that leads to a secluded park. The first impression upon entering was a sense of luxury, followed by cleanliness. There were about 5-7 staff members working, each responsible for a specific task, from taking orders to bagging the items and processing payments. The variety of bread options made it difficult to choose, as they all looked delicious. The Baguette was crispy and fragrant, a must-try. The Muesli bread had fruit in it and was on the heavier side. The Croissant was flaky and buttery, with a delightful aroma. I definitely want to try other bread options next time.

A bakery located about a 10-minute walk from JR Kichijoji Station. Upon my first visit, I relied on Google Maps and arrived to find only a building undergoing exterior renovations. After a closer look, I realized the bakery was actually located in the basement of that building. I descended the stairs to enter the shop. The spacious interior allowed me to select my bread, which was then picked up by the staff. I purchased the BE20 (made with 20% Yotsuba butter and 100% Hokkaido wheat) for 400 yen. A bag for takeout was an additional 20 yen. At home during dinner, I sliced and toasted the bread, then topped it with tuna mayo, salsa sauce, avocado, onion, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a delightful aroma and great texture. It was a delicious bread, and I will definitely buy it again if I'm in the area.
