I enjoyed skiing for the first time in three years in 2022. The weather was great, with clear skies and no wind, and there were no inexperienced snowboarders or foreign languages heard. I had a discount lift ticket, but unfortunately, I was no longer eligible for the senior discount due to my age. This time, I had a meal voucher with me, so I went to a restaurant on the second floor of the ski center. It was an authentic handmade pizza restaurant that used Italian wheat and cheese from Kurosato. I added some money and ordered seafood doria, a combination of two pizzas - mushroom pizza and margherita, and a hot coffee. The seafood doria was delicious with plenty of seafood and ketchup rice. The pizza had the perfect thickness of crust, the right amount of cheese, and lots of mushrooms. The margherita was also delicious. We chatted leisurely and before we knew it, it started snowing heavily. We hurriedly took the gondola down the slope, but the deep snow almost caused us to fall. It was fun experiencing a different snow quality in the afternoon. The delicious meal at the restaurant made the skiing experience in the resort even more enjoyable. Thank you for the meal!

It's February in Sapporo. I returned to Sapporo and visited the Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort to ski. Here is a photo of a drink I had there, the Woodpecker at Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort. Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort is easily accessible, just over an hour from Sapporo. The snow quality is great, especially compared to nearby ski resorts in the area. Despite the lack of tourists due to COVID-19, the resort was not crowded when I visited. I enjoyed a beer before hitting the slopes. It was delicious!

It was sudden, but I received an email saying "Let's go skiing the next day," so I replied, "I'm in!" I thought we were going to Moiwa Ski Resort in the back mountains, but she took me to Sapporo International Ski Resort, which is an hour away from my home. It was a Sunday, so it was crowded, but she said, "It'll be fun!" She's a good friend. We left at 9:30 and parked at the second parking lot after making a U-turn. We took the free shuttle bus to the entrance, went to the locker room, and bought lift tickets. I got a discount as a senior, so I bought a one-day pass for 3,500 yen. By this point, I was feeling cold and thirsty, so I bought a drink from a vending machine. It was already 11:30 by the time we got everything sorted out. This was my first time skiing this year, so I tried my best not to fall. There were family-friendly restaurants and ones with specialized chefs, but we decided to go to a place where we could have handmade pizza. We ordered Margherita for 1,280 yen, Seafood Gratin for 850 yen, and two cups of coffee for 250 yen each. I noticed that I didn't hear much foreign languages around, except at the rental booth. Families, young people, and former skiers of my age were the most noticeable. It seems like winter sports are becoming popular again. We were called by our number tag to pick up our food. The Margherita was decent, but obviously, pizza tastes better on the ground. The Seafood Gratin was delicious with plump shrimp and baby scallops, hot and tasty. The quality of the food has definitely improved compared to the past. I tried to take photos with my old-fashioned phone, but couldn't transfer them to my computer. Unfortunately, no photos this time. We took the gondola lift and the lift with a hood, enjoying skiing all day. However, I wasn't satisfied with my skiing and ended the day. I skied down from the top to the ground in one go, and my ears were ringing afterwards. Next time, I plan to go to a closer ski resort, with Niseko as my goal. I'll do my best and keep on living. In the 2015/2016 season, Sapporo International Ski Resort's family restaurant Woodpecker has transformed into a pizza specialty shop. Titled "International Gelé Food Revolution! Pizza Specialty Shop," they also offer pasta, side dishes, and glass wine. I ordered my favorite Margherita pizza. It arrived in about 12-13 minutes. The crust is thick, and the Mozzarella cheese from Kurosato is used, so my expectations are high. When I take a bite, the cheese stretches out. It's a bit challenging to chew, so using a knife might be a good idea. The texture is great, and the taste is delicious! The tomato sauce is also gentle in flavor. It may not be revolutionary, but you can feel their effort. It's good. It's quite filling, so it might be too much for a woman to finish one piece.
