I visited "Gastronomia Bellsonio," a casual eatery inspired by the popular Italian restaurant "Bellsonio" located in Nishiazabu. This time, I tried their newly launched “Luxury Short Course” (5,800 yen, tax included). We started with a toast over sparkling wine (all drinks are 800 yen).
The first dish was a Caprese salad with freshly shaved ham, featuring rich burrata cheese, sweet tomatoes from Miyazaki Prefecture, and aged prosciutto. The refreshing basil added a delightful touch, creating a dish that highlighted a harmonious blend of sweetness and saltiness.
Next, we enjoyed a warm dish: angel shrimp and Hokkaido scallops sautéed in white wine butter, served with potato genovese sauce and fresh herbs like shiso.
Then came the luxurious truffle risotto, an original dish from Bellsonio. The risotto is made with al dente brown rice, offering a unique texture that expands in flavor with each bite. This is a must-try! It's quite rare to find brown rice risotto, and it was truly delightful.
Following that was the bolognese pasta made with plenty of Miyazaki beef, paired with a red wine (Shiraz). The dish is finished with freshly grated Parmigiano, and the bitterness of watercress enhances the flavor. The pasta used is fresh chitarrini.
For dessert, we enjoyed the popular "Tiramisu Spumante" (also paired with a drink for 800 yen!). This tiramisu is incredibly fluffy and surprising. An interesting way to eat it is to first munch on a crispy tuile infused with espresso, then let the flavors meld in your mouth, creating a wonderful balance of sweetness and bitterness.
Gastronomia Bellsonio is a fantastic choice for those looking for a casual yet luxurious dining experience. It's great for a special lunch with friends and is kid-friendly, making it recommended for moms who want to enjoy delicious food as well. They confirm that strollers are welcome!
I personally spent a lot of time searching for places like this when my children were young, so I think it’s a perfect fit for similar families. Reservations can be made for groups of 2-4 people, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere without worrying about other guests.
The "Luxury Short Course" requires reservations via Hot Pepper or the restaurant's DM by 8 PM the day before your visit, with the course set to start at 1 PM.
Additionally, they offer other lunch menus that are sure to be delicious, including:
