I visited a steak restaurant at Sapporo Station North Exit after learning from a review by a first-time visitor that there was an affordable steak lunch option. It was my first visit of the year, and the price had increased by about 100 yen. The owner apologized to a pair of regular female customers, saying, "Sorry, I had to raise the prices." Well, with the recent price increases, it's understandable. I don't eat beef that often, so I've never been to places like "Nanchala" for steak. The restaurant had a small counter with only 6 seats. There were a chef and the owner working silently in front of the hot plate. I ordered the "Lunch Steak" for 1,200 yen and chose the "Sirloin" because I like the fat. First, they served a salad, which was nicely chilled with a flavorful dressing. I also enjoyed the slightly tough ham served with the salad. The chef grilled the thinly sliced sirloin on the hot plate. They also warmed up a baguette and cooked the "yakisoba" side dish at the same time. The thick yakisoba noodles were delicious. The steak was placed on top of the warm baguette. The chef used an electric mill to grind pepper and cut the steak with a sharp Western knife. The sight of the knife being sheathed in its belt added to the excitement. The owner timely served rice, miso soup, and pickles. The rice was cooked just right, the pickles were tasty, and the miso soup had a good broth. They also provided mustard. The steak was thin, but considering the price, it was satisfying. The coffee served after the meal was machine-made but had a rich and bitter taste. This set for 1,200 yen was quite satisfying. Next time, I might try the hamburger, which I don't usually eat out. I would like to revisit this restaurant someday.

Soon, the lunch options around here narrow down, causing a sense of urgency. I rely on bookmarks but nothing close by comes up, so I search on Tabelog. I find a hit for Teppanyaki Ito, with a review from user "3kichi" that catches my eye. I quickly skim through the review and it seems promising. As I descend the stairs and approach the entrance, I get a bit confused at first... is this some kind of secret door? I can't help but think back to my previous experience at Teppanyaki Urushi and how I wanted to come back. For lunch, I opt for the special grilled one-bite fillet. Starting with a salad accompanied by a slice of ham-like prosciutto, the freshness of the vegetables makes me crave wine from the get-go. Just as I finish the salad, the perfect timing brings rice, miso soup, and pickles to the table. Then, the main dish arrives. Half of the plate is filled with yakisoba, and there are about six pieces of the one-bite fillet on top of a baguette. The shiny rice is delicious, and as I enjoy it, the excitement of a set meal builds up. The one-bite fillet is just the right size to savor its tenderness and juiciness. At first, I try a piece as is without any seasoning, and then I experiment with the pre-seasoned, additional sauce, and mustard to enhance the flavor. The miso soup contains tofu and enoki mushrooms, which are also delicious. The pickles consist of lightly pickled cucumbers and daikon radish, both of which are tasty. The hot coffee covered in cream has a sharp bitterness and richness that satisfies. Despite the rushed decision due to the late hour, I am glad I chose this place, and it turns out to be a satisfying lunchtime experience.

Lunch menu started with a salad of raw ham. Special selected grilled one-bite fillet for 1,500 yen. Lunch steak (120g of sirloin) for 1,100 yen. Definitely go for the fillet! Tender fillet meat topped with thin slices of pork belly? It looks like it's laid out in the photo. Satisfied with yakisoba, baguette soaked in meat juice, and freshly cooked rice! Choose between ice cream or coffee after the meal.

It's been 2 years since my last visit. This time, I tried a different course from the bamboo course I had last time. The cold corn potage was delicious. The sautéed scallops with soy sauce were amazing, and I even had bread to finish the sauce! The salad with Iberico ham, yakisoba, and miso soup were all perfectly seasoned and tasty. Of course, I also enjoyed the steak! I want to go back again soon.

Today's special grilled steak lunch for 1,100 yen doesn't include a bite-sized fillet... even the rough mom is starting to get addicted!

There is a teppanyaki grill in a small restaurant, where the chef is quiet and the madam is attentive to the customers, always at the right timing. The food is decent, not outstanding, but the sautéed mushrooms were delicious with their thick texture! This is just my personal preference, but I'm not a fan of butter, so I found it a bit heavy as it was generously used.

On New Year's Day, we decided to have steak for dinner! I had been to this restaurant a long time ago when it was in Susukino. This was my first time at this location! We arrived early, so we started with a glass of wine. When my friend arrived, we ordered some grilled dishes. Since we were more focused on drinking, I declined the wine list and asked the hostess to choose a bottle for us. The wine cellar had a wide selection of wines. She chose a Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile called Terranoble (and later we also ordered a Pinot Noir). While enjoying our appetizers, we waited for the sautéed black flounder to arrive. When it came, the aroma was delightful from the moment it was being cooked. The fish was thick and delicious. We finished one bottle of wine quickly, so we ordered another! Since the black flounder was quite filling, we decided to share a 180g fillet steak. It was served sliced into bite-sized pieces with three different sauces. The meat was flavorful on its own, but the sauces added a nice touch. The grilled vegetables were also delicious, soaking up the flavor of the meat. We couldn't stop complimenting how tasty everything was. However, the wine prices seemed a bit high for us drinkers (more than triple the retail price, which is more like what you would find at a bar).

"I went to have lunch at Teppanyaki Ito. It is a teppanyaki specialty restaurant known for its affordable lunch options. The location is a bit hidden, in a building on the second block north of the east exit of Sapporo Station. Inside the building, there is a food court where Teppanyaki Ito and Yakitori Torataro are located. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit obscure, and the interior consists of only an L-shaped counter surrounding the teppanyaki grill, with seating for only 8 people. On the day of my visit, there were already 2 groups of customers inside, and the seats quickly filled up. It seems that reservations are not accepted for lunch. The lunch menu offers 5 options: A. Special Grilled (Limited quantity, one bite of tenderloin) for 1,365 yen B. Lunch Steak (120g of sirloin) for 945 yen C. Thinly Grilled Sirloin (120g) D. Beef Patty (150g with cheese) for 945 yen I decided to try the Special Grilled (1,365 yen) and it was still available. The meal started with a salad, followed by the beautifully cooked tenderloin seasoned with salt and pepper. The chef skillfully cut the meat and served it on a plate. The cooking process was quite impressive to watch. The chef efficiently prepared all the menu items from A to D. The yakisoba, a common side dish, was also being prepared in bulk. Rice, miso soup, pickles, and sauce were served by the chef's wife. Soon, all the dishes were ready. The tenderloin was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and flavorful. The two types of sauce, sweet and spicy, complemented the meat well. The yakisoba was a generous portion and had a mild flavor. The rice was delicious, and the miso soup had a rich and flavorful red dashi broth. It's impressive to get such a variety of dishes at such a reasonable price. I am now curious to try their evening course, starting from the 6,000 yen range."

I didn't know there was a restaurant like this in the building where the Hokkaido Bank is located at the north exit of the Satsu Station. I happened to find this restaurant while searching on Tabelog. At this point, the overall rating is only 3.12 points, so the score is not very high yet. However, it is a genuine teppanyaki restaurant where you can have steak and hamburger for lunch. When you go down to the basement of the building, you will find this restaurant tucked away in the back. The elegant exterior and the interior of the restaurant cannot be seen from outside, so I was a little worried if I could really have an affordable lunch here. When I entered the restaurant, I was even more surprised. The elegant interior has only L-shaped counter seats. It really exudes a sense of luxury. If it weren't for the two men in work clothes and a beautiful young lady dining alone, I might have been scared and left laughing. There are only about four menu items. Three of them are reasonably priced. I ordered the Steak Lunch with 120g of sirloin steak for 1050 yen. The salad comes with thinly sliced prosciutto right in front of you. I thought it would be a plain salad, but it turned out to be an unexpectedly elegant salad. Next, my steak is cooked right in front of me. It's wonderful to watch the cooking process of teppanyaki right in front of you. As it nears completion, rice, miso soup, and pickles are served. The rice is all-you-can-eat (・_・) The steak is ready. Half of the plate is steak, and the other half is unexpectedly yakisoba, haha. The steak is delicious♪ The taste doesn't disappoint. The medium rare cooking is also excellent. And the sauce is delicious too. The sweet and spicy sauces both go well with the steak. And do not underestimate this yakisoba. It is a very elegant yakisoba seasoned with white wine. It tastes great! Although it's yakisoba, it can definitely be a side dish for rice. If you look closely, the fatty part of the meat is in the yakisoba, showing attention to detail. It goes well with rice too☆ Furthermore, the pickles in this restaurant are delicious, and the miso soup has a strong dashi flavor and is delicious. It's not just about the steak. All the side dishes are also delicious. Finally, coffee or ice cream is served. The coffee is made from a coffee maker for a genuine coffee taste. The ice cream is matcha flavored. The ice cream is rich and there are no cheap ingredients until the end. By the way, I mentioned earlier that the Steak Lunch is 1050 yen, but this is the price when using a card. If you pay in cash, it will be 1000 yen. A genuine prosciutto salad, genuine steak, genuine (?) yakisoba, all-you-can-eat rice, with coffee or ice cream. All of this for just 1000 yen. It's an unbeatable cost performance. Providing a little touch of luxury to each dish, yet being affordable, and offering a very satisfying lunch for such a low price. There may be other teppanyaki restaurants that are simply delicious, but I think there is no other place that offers such a perfect lunch for under a thousand yen.

On February 1, 2011, I visited Ito-san for the first time after having work at Sapporo City Hall. It was my first time there and I was a bit confused about the entrance. Normally, I would expect the entrance to be on the side of the passage, but this restaurant had the entrance on the back side after going around the passage. Inside, there were only 8 counter seats where the owner cooked on a teppan grill. My companion ordered the lunch hamburger, so I chose the cheaper thinly sliced pork from the lunch menu. The owner was shaping the hamburger in the back, probably. He cooked the hamburger first, then the thinly sliced pork, and finally fried noodles, serving them all at once. Before that, a salad with two slices of duck was served. There were sweet, spicy, and chili sauce for dipping, and I found the sweet sauce to be the most delicious. The spicy sauce was a bit light, and the chili sauce was just chili sauce. After the meal, you could choose between ice cream or coffee, and since the ice cream was matcha flavor, I thought it would be nice if they asked whether you prefer matcha ice cream or coffee. Luckily, I was okay with matcha ice cream. I probably won't have the chance to go back at night, but it seems like a good place for a special occasion or to treat yourself. Also, the menu listed the hamburger and thinly sliced pork for 945 yen, but if you paid in cash, you would get a 5% discount, making it 900 yen.

I visited this restaurant on a snowy night during the snow festival in February 2010. The counter seats were full within 30 minutes of opening. The hostess had a sophisticated air, while the chef seemed to have a shy personality but skilled hands. I opted for the Matsutake course with two seafood dishes. The first dish was beef tataki, which went well with beer. The teppanyaki started with oysters, followed by scallops cut into easy-to-eat pieces. I tried foie gras sauté for the first time and enjoyed the combination with the sauce. The mushrooms that followed were Akita Daioh, and I imagined enjoying them with wine at home. The thinly grilled pork loin was a must-try, with three sauces provided for dipping. The garlic rice after the salad was a great choice. I ended the meal with matcha ice cream. This restaurant may not have a flashy atmosphere or cooking performance, but it caters to those who appreciate simply enjoying delicious food in a quiet setting. I look forward to trying the chef's choice course next time.

This is a restaurant located in a building below Sapporo Station North Exit, with Hokkaido Bank North Exit Branch. It is a small restaurant with only an L-shaped counter with 8 seats. They offer lunch menus of steak and seafood dishes cooked on a large iron plate in front of the counter. I ordered the Cheese Hamburg Steak (900 yen), which comes with a 150g hamburger, salad, yakisoba, rice, and a choice of coffee or ice cream for dessert. Other lunch sets include beef loin and fillet steak. It's enjoyable to watch the hamburger being cooked right in front of you on the iron plate. The cooked hamburger is topped with sliced cheese and sauce, and while it didn't drip with juices, it had a flavorful taste. The yakisoba served alongside the hamburger is lightly seasoned and complements the dish well. You can have seconds of rice, and the meal also includes salad and miso soup. For dessert, you can choose between coffee or ice cream. It's a premium and relaxing lunch experience for the price of 900 yen. Next time, I would like to try the meat lunch menu. For dinner, they offer teppanyaki courses starting from 6000 yen, with an omakase course for 9000 yen. The dinner menu is different from the lunch menu, as explained by the owner. This is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a quiet and special meal on a special occasion. With only 8 seats available, reservations are necessary.

I had heard about this place since I was in Susukino, but the location was a bit far and my companion doesn't like steak, so I missed the opportunity to go. However, I happened to read in a magazine that they had moved to behind Sapporo Station, so I decided to go check it out. The area behind the station was not crowded at lunchtime, and the restaurant itself was quiet, making it a bit intimidating to open the door. It was a small and clean place. I felt a bit lost being there alone, but the TV show "Waratte Iitomo" helped me relax. I ordered the special steak (limited quantity) this time, as I'm weak to the word "limited"... The meat cooked on the shiny hot plate was tender and very delicious. However, I had checked online before going, and besides the lunch course set for 3,500 yen, there was also the word "yakisoba" for some reason. Meat + yakisoba, and even rice... I personally thought yakisoba was unnecessary. Since there seemed to be more men at lunch, maybe it's fine.

I was a little hesitant at first because I thought it might be a bit high-end, but it was only 900 yen so I mustered up the courage to visit the restaurant. It was past 1 o'clock so there were few people, and the place with only 8 seats was almost like a private booking. I ordered the hamburger that I had decided on. I drank warm tea and ate a nicely arranged salad with a sufficient amount. The meat started sizzling on the hot plate in front of me, and I thought I ordered a hamburger, but isn't this pork loin? As I looked around and saw French bread, I heard the sizzling sound of good meat and saw that the yakisoba was ready. The lady brought rice, pickles, and miso soup, and served the plates of yakisoba and hamburger that were ready on the hot plate (it was indeed a hamburger). The rich yakisoba and hamburger were delicious. The miso soup was also tasty. I thought rice with yakisoba was strange, but the seasoning was so good that I almost ran out of rice. It seems you can have seconds of rice, but I declined and had ice cream after the meal. You can choose between coffee and ice cream. For only 900 yen, I am already satisfied! It's much better than a half-hearted 750 yen lunch. I think the thinly sliced pork was also 900 yen. It might be a bit high-end for me at night, so I would like to visit again for lunch.
