I stopped by after eating Dutch pancakes. I needed to use the restroom, so I parked my car in the parking lot of AEON Ebetsu store, and while checking the detailed location of the store, I found out it was very close, so I decided to buy something on the way back from the restroom. "We're out of cream, only red bean paste is available." "I want red bean paste." "My granddaughter also insists on red bean paste for her taiyaki." "Haha, that's impressive!" This was the exchange with the elderly lady owner with white hair. When I was a child, my paternal grandmother, born in 1920, would always make red bean paste for various occasions. Red bean paste rice cakes for New Year's, ohagi for the equinoctial week, and chimaki for Children's Day, I enjoyed my grandmother's red bean paste throughout the year. My mother, born before the war, did the same, but people in the past used to make everything by eye without following recipes or using measuring cups or spoons, yet they could create the taste perfectly, which I find amazing. Conversations with people of the same generation who can relate to such topics are enjoyable. I bought four red bean paste taiyaki and ate them at home. The red bean paste here is purple and has a mild sweetness. The price of 110 yen per piece is affordable for children, making it a traditional sweet shop on the corner of the street. Oh, and just in case, when purchasing from a store like this that only offers takeout, the usage type is not considered takeout.

"Ebetsu Taiyakiya" in Ebetsu, just the two of us, it's time to go home already but we decided to stop by a cafe on the way back. However, there was no parking lot, so we had to park a bit far and walk towards it. When we arrived, there was a taiyaki shop. It seems like today is just full of unexpected surprises. We decided to try it out before heading to the cafe. Inside the cafe, it was quite dark and there didn't seem to be much activity. We asked if they were open, and they confirmed that they were. The interior was colder than outside, but we didn't mind. We ordered two taiyakis, one with red bean paste and the other with cream. They were only 220 yen each, quite cheap. The taiyakis were warmed up in the microwave and toaster, making them crispy on the outside. The cream flavor reminded me of the past, when I used to avoid cream puffs. Now, I can enjoy it. The thin skin and filling made it easy to eat. The lack of excessive sweetness in the red bean paste was refreshing. Overall, I enjoyed the simple and delicious taiyakis.

I went after 3 pm and they were sold out of red bean paste. Only 5 cream taiyaki were left, and they were on sale for 80 yen each (normally 110 yen). The grandma who bought the remaining 5 taiyaki packed them efficiently, maybe with the help of her son? Both of them were smiling and very pleasant. The taiyaki wasn't freshly baked, but kept warm in a heater. The skin was soft and chewy, not crispy, which I also like. The cream had an eggy taste, smooth and delicious. Even though the tail didn't have cream, it was chewy and tasty. When lightly toasted, it became crispy and delicious too. I wanted to try the handmade red bean paste, I'll have to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by this shop that caught my eye on my way back from shopping at Aeon in Ebetsu. I bought one taiyaki for 110 yen each! I got one with red bean paste and one with cream. The taiyaki that was baked earlier was a bit soft. The sweetness was moderate, and the taiyaki dough had a chewy texture. The custard cream had an eggy taste, was firm, and had a nice vanilla scent - delicious! The red bean paste had a refined sweetness and a good azuki flavor. Both had a decent amount of filling from head to tail, not packed tightly but enough. It was a simple and delicious taiyaki. I'll definitely buy it again if I'm nearby. Thank you, Taiyakiya!

On a day off, I came to Ebetsu for lunch and then headed to this place that I had been curious about for some time but hadn't visited before. The shop is located in the Ion parking lot, with a sign for taiyaki as a landmark. When you enter the shop, the father and grandmother greet you. The taiyaki, priced at 100 yen each, comes in only two flavors: red bean paste and cream. The taiyaki are pre-made and kept warm in a heating machine. This time, we each bought one. The grandmother skillfully wraps them up. The atmosphere here reminds me of my childhood and feels nostalgic. Even after we left, families came in to buy taiyaki, showing that the shop is loved by the community. The taiyaki (red bean paste, cream) have a soft texture with a chewy feel. Unlike other taiyaki, the skin here is thin and just right. The red bean paste is homemade with a gentle sweetness, and the cream is a delicious custard with a firm egg flavor. At 100 yen each, the cost performance is good. I want to taste the nostalgic atmosphere of the shop again. Thank you for the meal.

When I visited Ebetsu, I came across a taiyaki shop with a simple name! The homemade anko sign caught my attention. The thick, fluffy dough was sweet like a dorayaki, and had a slightly chewy texture. The balance with the anko was amazing! And that homemade anko... so delicious! You can really taste that homemade feel! It was not too sweet and had a nice, rich texture. I want to sandwich it between dorayaki skins, or put it on toast. I just want to eat this anko alone! As for the cream, I'm not sure if it's homemade, but it was smooth and had a custard-like sweetness. It was also delicious! I wonder where they get their custard from if it's not homemade! It's affordable, and the shop gives off a cozy vibe. I envy those who can enjoy such delicious taiyaki. Thank you for showing us this wonderful shop, Wu-ta!

Every time I go to the Aeon in Ebetsu, I always noticed a taiyaki shop that caught my eye. This time, as I was leaving the parking lot, I saw a sign that said "Time Sale, 60 yen"! I immediately made a U-turn (laughs) and bought two taiyaki with anko and cream each. The kids couldn't wait, so we ate them in the car. The taiyaki had a soft and fluffy dough with just the right amount of anko and cream, and it was delicious. By the way, when we toasted one at home, the dough became crispy and it was even more delicious. I recommend warming it up for a crispy texture. Thank you for the meal!

I decided to leave the tire change to the stand this time. Luckily, there were no other customers, so the work was done in 20 minutes. I took a little walk and found a taiyaki shop I had been wanting to visit. The red bean paste taiyaki costs 100 yen. The red bean paste is not too sweet but still satisfying. It is filled generously. The dough is chewy! This texture is rare for taiyaki. Very delicious! I think this place used to be a rice shop before... They used to sell taiyaki back then, but I wonder if they use rice flour? It felt quite chewy (^-^) Next time, I will come back to try the cream filling! Thank you for the meal (^o^)

On a certain holiday, I stopped by a delicious taiyaki shop in Nopporo-cho, Ebetsu City, thinking "I have to try it now!" The shop is located near the Aeon in Ebetsu, so it was lucky that I had the chance to visit, as sometimes they close when they run out of stock. The interior of the shop is compact, with a counter for orders and a machine in the corner for mixing the batter. On this day, they only had red bean paste and custard cream taiyaki available, so I decided to get both. The taiyaki, wrapped in cloth from a glass warming container, was handed to me in a pack. The high-pitched voice of the elderly lady running the shop unexpectedly touched my heart. I took a bite of the "Red Bean Taiyaki (100 yen)" and found the soft texture to be surprisingly endearing. The balance of the soft dough and the sweet Hokkaido red bean paste was perfect, making it one of my favorite taiyaki. The "Custard Cream Taiyaki (100 yen)" had the same soft dough, and the custard cream inside was intriguing. I couldn't quite figure out what was in it, perhaps vanilla beans, but the creamy texture elevated the experience. This taiyaki may not be crispy on the outside like some prefer, but for some reason, I found it incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, since I had the day off work, I went to a Chinese restaurant that I've been curious about and had some mapo tofu. It was a bit different from what I expected, so I was left feeling unsure... I felt like having something sweet afterwards. Oh, there's a taiyaki place around here, right? I'm not sure if there are two taiyaki places in Ebetsu, but anyway. I heard they're open on Mondays, so I went to check it out, but the front of the store hadn't been cleared of snow! I couldn't park my car! I entered the store in a bit of anger, only to find no staff there? And then a small old lady peeked out from behind the counter. Well, I guess she doesn't shovel snow. It seems like the store is open until 4:00 PM, and I arrived a bit after 3:00 PM. Surprisingly, they had a time-limited deal where you could get one taiyaki for 60 yen (laughs). One taiyaki for 60 yen (laughs), it's like something from the Showa era (laughs). Normally it's 100 yen, apparently. I got one with red bean paste and one with cream. I wonder if they're already baked and kept warm? The taiyaki skin was fluffy and soft, like a ningyo-yaki. But it doesn't have any strange aftertaste. It's actually quite good. It's not crispy. It's a traditional type of taiyaki with a thin skin. The cream was like a rich custard. But it's not overly heavy, and it's quite nice. The red bean paste had whole beans, but they were mostly intact. It's almost like small red beans. It doesn't seem like a pre-made filling. Maybe the old lady boils and makes it herself? This is also quite tasty. Both the red bean paste and cream go all the way to the tip, so it's not just cheap. It's well-made. They seem to be closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, so go on Fridays to Mondays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and try it out. The taiyaki made by the old lady is quite delicious.

They gave me a discount because it was just before closing time. It seemed like a family-run business, which made me feel warm and fuzzy. The taiyaki was fluffy and old-fashioned. I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

【Takeout】Located near Aeon Nopporo store in Nopporo, Ebetsu City, there is a taiyaki shop. The shop is about 70 meters from the intersection of 7-chome-dori along National Route 12, towards the railway direction, near the exit of Aeon Nopporo store parking lot. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from JR Nopporo Station or Takasago Station. On April 20, 2018, at 1:00 PM, I discovered this shop while riding my bicycle to have soup curry. I was lucky this time, so I decided to try their takeout service. They sell two types of taiyaki: anko (red bean paste) and cream, each for 90 yen. If you buy 4 or more, the price is reduced to 80 yen each, which is a nice service. The anko is handmade, and they also sell azuki beans and edamame in front of the register. This time, I purchased one taiyaki with anko for 90 yen. I ate it cold before dinner since we don't have a microwave. Even after 8 hours of purchase, the dough was still soft and chewy. The anko filling was sweet and plentiful, made with chunky red bean paste. Both the dough and the filling had a delicious taste, making it hard to stop eating. This taiyaki shop offers a nostalgic and delicious taste. I might buy around 4 next time, including the cream flavor, as I can't resist eating them.
