I traveled to Sapporo with the HOKKAIDO LOVE 6-day round trip pass in February 2023, and decided to take a detour to Kushiro on my way back, so I came to Kitami. I stayed at Route Inn Kitami Station, which was a short walk away. The hotel was fully booked, so the breakfast area was very crowded. It was a buffet style breakfast with not many options for dishes. It was like a company cafeteria where you could take turns to get your food, and about 80% of the dishes were on the plates. Still, I didn't eat a few items, so I think they had more variety than Super Hotel or Comfort Inn. There was a rice machine where you could set a bowl, press a button for small, medium, or large, and the rice would drop down (laughs). I wanted to make a manga-style meal, so I chose large (laughs) and small. That's enough for now. Bon appétit. The Vienna sausages were incredibly juicy and greasy, and regretted taking two. Overall, the dishes had a feeling of being eaten somewhere, and the only Kitami specialty was onion fries. They all seemed like frozen foods, but they were neither good nor bad, just average and okay. The rice with mountain wasabi was the most delicious. My stomach is full. Thank you for the meal.

In January 2022, during my trip to the frigid Okhotsk region, I stayed at Route Inn Hotel for two days. For breakfast, I enjoyed a buffet at the hotel restaurant. Before entering the restaurant, I had to put on plastic gloves due to the current situation, and there was a machine that helped inflate the gloves for easier wearing. It was quite interesting to see. The breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, bacon, salad, and even hamburgers. One of the highlights was the deep-fried onion rings, a specialty of Kitami. I usually try not to overeat, but I couldn't resist and ended up taking three of them. It turned out to be the most delicious choice. There was also a rice dispenser with options for small, medium, or large portions, which was fun to use and convenient for contactless service in these times. I also tried some salted fish roe to start my day.

The breakfast buffet at Route Inn is so delicious with a wide variety of dishes that I tend to overeat. I am happy to see natto and homemade tofu in the morning. The combination of tofu and mountain wasabi is also amazing. If they also had morning curry, it would be perfect.

The hotel has a hot spring and is affordable, and it is close to the station and downtown area. The breakfast is average, not something to stay for. It feels like a typical business hotel breakfast. I ate breakfast just to try it, but the satisfaction level was not high. However, it is not bad either. I will stay again because it is cheap. There were 9 shower stalls in the hot spring, and the temperature was high and felt good.

I had a dinner in Kitami and stayed overnight. My wife, who was on the late shift, joined me at 10 p.m. We had delicious meat at a new yakiniku restaurant and then I rowed the boat back to the hotel. The hotel's selling point is its natural hot spring, which, despite being odorless and tasteless, had a smooth and slippery texture that I really liked. The hotel offered a breakfast buffet, and with an early check-out at 7 a.m., we got a discounted rate due to the reconstruction discount. The breakfast selection was not extensive, but it was sufficient. I tried a salad with Japanese dressing, which was mild and easy to eat. The shrimp shinjo and mixed vegetable dish was delicious. The rice was average, but the miso soup was tasty. Overall, the hospitality was excellent, and I think it's a good hotel. I noticed a new Route Inn hotel opened in front of the station, but I was surprised to learn that they will continue to operate both hotels. By the way, here is my consumption summary until the end of May: 67 bowls of ramen, 18 servings of soba, and 32 ice creams. May was a bit slow for me...

I stayed in Kitami. I wanted to stay at the new Route Inn in front of the station, but hesitated and missed out on availability. So, I ended up staying in Odori West. I usually eat a hearty breakfast, but I'm on a diet. I'll stick to my plan and go light! I'm a bit worried if I can survive on vegetables, natto, milk, and fruit for breakfast, but I'll stay true to my goal! Of course, I finished eating quickly. Looking back, the corn was unnecessary ^_^ Just like Nissan doesn't need Ghosn. I learned for the first time that you can choose a healthy breakfast like this at a buffet. Thank you for the meal! ^_^

Stayed from June 27, 2018 to June 29, this is my regular accommodation for business trips to Kitami. I've been staying here every month, and I'm starting to get tired of the breakfast (lol). This time, I had a comfortable stay as usual. Thank you for taking care of me♪
