I received a lunch set with sushi and a flyer. I heard that there were 8 pieces of sushi, so I also ordered the flyer, but the sushi alone was enough. In addition to the main dish, there was shrimp soup and coffee included. Some people commented that some of the sushi, like the tuna, looked dark, but I believe it's just because it's aged, showcasing the skill of the chef. Although the ingredients were common, I could feel the dedication put into each dish. The chirashi sushi had a nice touch with vinegar rice mixed with shiso leaves, white sesame seeds, and pickled ginger, making it delicious.

While taking a walk, I often pass by this restaurant. The sign outside is a bit messy, and when I checked Google and Tabelog, the reviews were mixed. Is the Miracle Jumbo Nigiri really that amazing? It costs 2000 yen. Let's give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant...hmm, it's a bit cluttered. Not the level of cleanliness you'd expect from a sushi restaurant. There's a strange smell...but now that I'm here, I can't turn back. I've already taken a seat. One Miracle Jumbo, please! The reviews on Google mentioned a buzzing sound, and it was true (laughs). Here it is - huge! The miso soup is a bit...frothy. The rice is okay. Not bad at all. The issue is with the toppings. The salmon isn't great. Supermarket Norwegian salmon is softer and tastier. The shrimp is just your average shrimp. The horse mackerel is concerning. Tastes like it's been frozen and burnt. My apologies. The octopus is well-cooked, but it has a hint of parsley from being placed nearby. Is parsley really used in sushi? Even as a squid lover, I have to say sorry. It smells frozen. The tuna is very dark. The dark red color isn't very appealing. It has sinews and isn't the best quality. The scallop is decent. The salmon roe is also pretty good. The miso soup has a bad shrimp head taste. Luckily, the crunchiness of the seaweed is still there. Someone mentioned in a review that there's too much wasabi, and it's true. Lots of wasabi. The total cost became 1800 yen since there was no sea urchin. But I probably won't come back. Trust Google more than Tabelog.

It's been a long time since I visited this place, probably decades. This sushi restaurant used to be famous for its "Jumbo Nigiri" in the local area. They have a large banquet hall where we used to have parties. "Gokousushi", 1:00 PM. No customers before or after. I sat at the counter. The menu is surprisingly diverse for a sushi restaurant, they even have ramen. By the way, the counter's sushi case is empty. I decided to go for the "One Coin Menu" and ordered the "Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura Rice Bowl" for 600 yen including tax. It's quite a generous portion for the price. The tempura ingredients include shrimp, eggplant, bell pepper, shiitake mushroom, onion, and sweet potato. The sauce on the rice bowl is a bit sweet. The miso soup has fried tofu in it. The pickled vegetables are homemade. Even the coffee after the meal was good. Overall, it was a delicious meal, especially for 600 yen. Next time, I might try the "Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl".

I can't think of any other title for this review (lol). Visited during a quiet time on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the Miracle Jumbo Assorted Sushi. It's really big. It reminds me of the size of street sushi stalls in the Edo period. However, it's cut in half. I was told to "eat it with your hands because it's big," but I was already planning on using chopsticks (lol) It still falls apart though (lol). The sushi rice... I wonder if it's too vinegary or not? The toppings are not bad, but this sushi rice... hmm... I think the cost performance is not bad, but I was a bit bothered by a small flying insect that was around while eating (lol). It faces a fairly busy street, but it has a messy charm that says "we're doing business in a residential area." Well, that's not necessarily a bad thing. When the iced coffee came out, I wished I had another cup of tea first... There were some regrets and disappointments, but overall it was a shop with enough impact to cover them up.

Shrimp and vegetable tempura rice bowl, large size, costs 600 yen. The regular size is 550 yen. I was happy to receive a complimentary towel and tea. The rice was a bit soft, but it was cheap and delicious. I would like to come back and eat here again. It's a retro-style restaurant. I don't mind this atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi is available in the restaurant.

It's lunchtime in Kitami, and I've come all the way here to declare that I will conquer all the ramen shops in Kitami. I didn't mean to conquer all the ramen shops, but it seems like I have to now. While driving on Minami Odori, I saw a sign for ramen at a place that wasn't on my list, so I had to try it. The outside of the shop had an old man saying "welcome" before I even entered. When I sat at the counter, it felt more like a sushi restaurant with a big chair and only 5 seats. I ordered the "salt ramen" for 650 yen. The owners, perhaps husband and wife, were very kind. The ramen was fine, but I had a bad experience with ramen at a sushi restaurant before, so I felt a bit of trauma resurfacing. There was a raised seating area, and I noticed a coin-operated toy machine. The ramen had slightly cloudy broth, thin yellow noodles, kamaboko, garlic, bean sprouts, onions, carrots, and corn. The noodles were good, and the seaweed was tasty. The chashu was flavorful but not too fatty. The broth was animal-based and had a chemical taste with a hint of sweetness. Overall, the ramen was decent, but I could taste the sushi restaurant influence in it. The chopsticks were slippery, and the lotus root was not to my liking. The soup had a strong animal and lard flavor with added sweetness. I was served coffee after the meal, which I didn't need but still appreciated. This extra touch raised my rating of the place.

The restaurant is called "Miyukizushi" and is located on the opposite side of the national highway from Kitami Station, in a residential area. The shop is old, large, and stands out. There is only one review at this point, so information is scarce. Apart from popular shops in Sapporo, there is very little information available for other places that tourists might visit. The atmosphere inside the shop is like a casual sushi restaurant, with not many young customers. There seem to be more elderly regulars. The owner is quite talkative and friendly. In addition to the regular menu, there are also weekly lunch specials. This week's options are Ramen & Mekidon for 680 yen, and Kitsune Udon & Mini Tendon for 700 yen. Mekidon is essentially a rice bowl with a fried egg on top, which is famous in Kitami. The regular menu includes seafood dishes, eel, curry, ramen, and more. I ordered the regular Chirashi for 850 yen. The seasonal Shime Sanma was delicious. The scallops were fresh and tasty. However, the tuna was skipjack tuna, which was not great. The rice portion was generous, and the soup had a strong shrimp flavor. The attention to detail and small touches like serving coffee and a small chocolate after the meal, as well as providing discount coupons, were appreciated. Despite my low expectations, the meticulous preparation of the rice bowl exceeded my expectations and left me satisfied.

◆September 2014◆ A sushi restaurant near Nandori Avenue Arks caught my attention with its large ship sculpture and unique exterior. The atmosphere seemed like it was frequented by regular customers, so I finally decided to visit. There is parking space for over 10 cars. The interior has a counter, tables for four, a slightly elevated area, and a spacious tatami room in the back. [About the Menu] They offer a wide variety of dishes including sushi, set meals, bowls, and noodles. The prices for sushi are clearly listed, which is reassuring. The daily lunch specials include: - Ramen with a mini pork cutlet rice bowl - Nameko mushroom grated radish soba with a mini tempura rice bowl Both are only 700 yen, which is quite affordable. They also have a One-Coin Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl and three other bowl options for 550 yen. The Miracle Jumbo Sushi, which is a jumbo sushi with 1 kilogram of rice, is only 2000 yen, a great deal. They also offer a slightly smaller version of the jumbo sushi. [What I Ate] I was tempted by the daily lunch specials, but since I came to a sushi restaurant, I wanted to have sushi. So, I chose the Miyuki Set for 1200 yen, where you can choose one noodle dish and one rice dish. I ordered soy sauce ramen and a mini sushi set. The ramen had simple toppings of seaweed, wheat gluten, and green onions. The soup was slightly spicy, and the noodles were chewy. It was a bit salty though. The mini sushi set had four pieces and was quite delicious, as expected from a sushi restaurant. The lunch set was very cost-effective, but the taste of the food itself was average. The owner and his wife were very friendly and created a warm atmosphere. I brought my dog, and I learned that they also have four dogs in the restaurant, which made me understand why they have the One-Coin Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl. Next time, I might try the Jumbo Sushi or the One-Coin option.
